Thread: [Mechanic] Myles' Mechanic Guide

I decided to do this too. 30 seconds is just not worth it. It's taking me more time to set it up then to actually use it. I don't get why people love this skill so much.

If your fast at setting it up and do the right set up it gives so much more exp then just grinding. Especially at small maps like pirate den 2 or 3 where it takes half the map for you. You hardly need to do any work yourself and end up getting more exp too. Right now its an amazing skill to train with during chaos it wont be so hot anymore but that wont come for a long time. By then I will be well over 120 and wont be training with it much anymore anyway.

RnS was quite possibly the best 3rd job skill to train with, if you know how to set it up. A lot of the bandwagoners probably disdain it, which is unfortunate since using the full potential of a Mech at a boss in 4th job is just about as frustrating. However in 4th job I don't use the skill much except at some bosses. I may end up using it in the future if I find a smaller map to train on.

In chaos it does get a 180 second cd, yet also a 30 second increase in duration. With mastery, it will be about 90 seconds, which isn't horrible. However, the current RnS is overpowered as it is.

One of the easiest ways to use RnS is to start out in a small map. You'll usually want to make a triangle, with the top of the triangle being on the upper platform. Find the three pointers you'll want to use RnS, and put a portal at the top pointer and any other pointer. When that's accomplished, you can always just use one RnS, teleport, RnS again, and simply rush or whatever to the last point. RnS is useful as it acts as a second party member always clearing everything in its path, however the skill requires actually paying attention to the game opposed to half-assing/multitasking.

The biggest mistake someone can make with the skill is to not kill while setting it up, and possibly not using the portals to your advantage.

I also set it up and AFK to go to the bathroom or get a snack or something and it kills for me and prevents people from going Into my map while i afk for a short while.

I have a quick question about 4th Job mechanic builds, and didn't know where else to put it.

When you add one point in Extreme Mech, does it add +21 attack or just +1 attack? Is it just a continuation of the 2nd Job mastery skill? Also, if you guys have suggestions on 4th job skills builds, feel free to contribute!

  6. Default

I think it's probably like every other 4th mastery. It's just an augmentation of the original one.

As for 4th job: i'd think a few funsie points into lots of stuff and then extreme mech?

  7. Default

debating between that and laser. max laser looks better than sg-88 in the skill table...

theres 6 skills i want 1 point in, i think ill end up putting the 6th into robot mastery at 121 unfortunately. i really really want RnS to last as long as the servers lag, but everything else seems more important. :(

does satellite safety save your MP from 1/1s or just your HP?

  8. Default

+1 Attack. It's a continuation of the 1st job prototype skill.

And for your second question, this:

    ---

A better question: does Satellite Safety work on 1/1s?

  9. Default

Safety doesn't work on 1/1 or the cwk totem pole in PQ. It just kills them and still drops my HP.

  10. Default

I've been using RnS at 4th job when I train at newties to save a couple of pots by stunning/killing one of the newties behind me, pretty much like BMs used hawk, a 30 seconds summon though so I don't bother using it all the time, but I do get hit less if I use it. I have enough time to set it up after clearing the 2 plats. Other than that.. I have used it at pap before summoning.

I've been thinking about what to add into when I level to 121 this time around. Before the RB yesterday, I had added 3 into Extreme Mech. This time I've been thinking off adding 1 into Robot Mastery, Satellite Safety and Extreme Mech. Then maxing out Extreme Mech. Is Robot Mastery/Satellite Safety any useful at Lv1?

  12. Default

I would think robot mastery would be amazing at level 1; safety seems iffy at level 1, unless you boss a lot, in which case level 1 would be great to shave off 3x% damage from an attack that does over half your HP (1/1s don't affect it i believe?). If anything, i'd put one into the ultimate just for kicks over satellite.

When (if) i get there, i'll probably do the same even though it's not "cookie cutter". Resistance characters tend to have great 1 point allocations for some of their skills.

  13. Default

I already have one point added into the ultimate.

  14. Default

    i put 1 into sg-88 at 121 and already regret it :[
maybe i wouldnt if it could 1hko trainable mobs without having to spam attack. might happen once extreme mech is maxed.

i highly recommend 1 robot mastery. i put 1 in safety too, it hasnt been useful but i dont regret it yet.

  15. Default

I rather like it. It may not be able to 100% 1hko DGP yet, but there's a spot near the bottom of the map where you can hit 3 of the plats and take out most of them, and leave the rest with very little HP.

  16. Default

I gave in and made a mech as well.

So far I'm level 60 and pondering about what leaving at 13: Rocket, HW Mastery or Booster. I'm leaning towards Mastery, so I'll ask: are the 7 levels on it much of a difference later on? I mean, I've been only using Atomic Hammer and Drill (and portal :D) to train...

On a side note: holy crap. I'm one hitting every mob I've trained on so far and I'm not even using my DEX equips (I'm using INT so I don't even have to bother changing them every level up lol).

  17. Default

Some people say flame is better than atomic hammer to train at higuer level monsters than your character(10 lvls above). I don't even think it matters at all whether they can kill faster with flame because atomic hammer can kill all the monsters on flat maps even before they respawn with misses and all. So ya, i left HW mastery too.

  18. Default

I didn't use Flamethrower at all in second job, and didn't use it until Lv73 when I started to train exclusively on flat maps. Flamethrower IS better for those flat maps when you're training on mobs several levels higher because of how it spams the damage. When you're only a few levels below the mob, then you can use Atomic/Punch, but otherwise when you're around 6-10 levels lower, then you need Flamethrower's damage to kill the mobs before they respawn. Though its use became less and less the higher I got as the mobs I trained on were consistently closer, at, or below my level. I completely stopped using it at 95, when I went to the lv98 Homuns. Since then it's been Atomic.

  19. Default

I would always max speed booster. It's very annoying having to recast buffs more often than normal. Personally, i left rocket jump at 13. I mean, it's not a tool used for killing and has max jump height at level 1, so whats the point of maxing it? less MP usage? Havent even used rocket jump for the last 15 levels of training.
