If you have any smaller questions you can throw them at me in this thread or in visitor messages, i'd love to go into the game and help out but i currently don't have the time to get on dota, sadly.
Solo queue is making me play with people with 200-400wins o.o No wonder some of my games lately feel really easy or impossibly hard.
I am such a mousesports fan right now. I started watching them when they picked up syndereN back in March. They just keep getting better.
Anyone else have any favorite teams?
There is no FotM at the moment. We just got one of our two patches(Usually 2 a year).
My own high-tier of good solo Q heroes(In no particular order):
Tiny, Zeus, Troll warlord(But he was reworked), Nyx, Slark, Shadow demon(Although he's not old), Brewmaster, Juggernaut and Leshrac.
But then again, that's what i personally enjoy using and have good luck with. Generally anything i can snowball with or win mid hard with and then win other lanes for my team.
Huskar was buffed and is essentially immune to magic damage once his health is below 30%. Might want to give him a spin, use ghost scepter and manually cast your orb and you are immune to all damage for 4 seconds.
I can't pineappleing stand this.
Last 3 games have been downright awful. Each one of them has featured one or two individuals on my team who simply are awful. I play decently, not amazing, but there's just not enough I can do.
pineappleing great way to start off my vacation. done with this pomegranate for a little while.
edit:
good pub heroes right now from my experience that aren't stupidly easy to counter (like Riki)
TA, Centaur, Huskar, Storm Spirit, Nature's Prophet, Lina, Outworld Destroyer, Skywrath Mage, Queen of Pain, Weaver, and Slark. I don't know how good Gyrocopter, Nyx Assassin, and Lifestealer are post-patch but they were pretty silly pre-6.78. Timbersaw got some good buffs and is pretty strong but the positioning required for him is a bit hard to get down for people.
Also my favourite team is probably Na'vi.
I'd have said QPAD but there isn't really much of a team left anymore.
I have mixed feelings about Weaver. I love playing him and I can do fairly well early, farming and harassing is fun and easy but if someone in your team has been feeding or teamfights just go awful Weaver becomes useless. Last game I had with him I had the most last hits and early game kills but a TA started feeding enemy team and my advantage just went down the drain. It's unreliable because you don't know how moronic are the people that play with you. He's one of my favorite heroes, win rate with him is one of my best but it can be very very frustrating.
There's still about a month for people to give the game a shot, especially with an event discussion posted.
*twitch*
For the love of god, never say "Champion" in a DoTA match. You won't see it, but you'll feel the angry glares from both teams.
There's no real FoTM when it comes to pubs. Just in general, invisible/ganking heroes give unorganized teams a bad time.
Yay I got on someones nerves. I know they're Heros. I was just rustling your jimmies. Sides, most people that play the alternatives [LoL/HoN/etc] will make this mistake. So don't take it personal I was just rousing around. But yeah, I remember Drow still being a whore when I quit. I she still annoying as piss?
Given that you quit 5 years ago, her ult got remade and means that while she's annoying if your team collectively has a learning disability and is all melee with no lockdown, competency is a critical factor in fighting her. But god help you if she has a good front line (Magnus, Enigma, Tidehunter, Earthshaker, etc.) and is just able to pump out DPS.
she was blatantly overpowered a little while back after her ult and precision aura got changes. wasn't in -CM though so it just meant that she was a pub terror. she got some nerfs to stop the idiocy of trueshot aura (basically every lane would constantly push incredibly hard with no one there) and she's in -CM now. people pick her less now. still kinda annoying though. huskar is the new drow though, makes pub matchmaking stupid.
No not really. I was over-exaggerating how someone would react. And for me that's why I keep a mental checklist of what's in what game to avoid confusion.
Drow is only really good against terrible players. All you need to do is get in her face and her ultimate's passive goes poof; she's pretty much the inspiration for Ashe, but has more power and a Silence. Against a good team you'll have to actually be careful when playing her.
Just had a game in which enemy team picked 5 tanky strength heroes. I wanted to play support and picked SD for easy lane harass, but the game went on for too long and enemy team got even tankier and I didn't know what to do... Is there a supportish ranged Hero that reduces armor or amplifies damage without having to buy any items? Kind of like VS or Undying? Also, other than medallion is there a cheap item that reduces armor? I know AC and Desolator do, but Idk if as SD I can farm that much in a game.
Uh, Dazzle would be your man.
also I just played the funniest game of my life but I don't think my team would agree. -SD match, got huskar. Had treant giving me armor. went mid. was 5/1/2 by 7 minutes.
turns out going aghs eblade dagon doesn't win you games as huskar. Who knew?
also they didn't react well to me suggesting sven go divine. so lame.
I found Admiral Bulldog's alt?
Rapier OD. So much ballin' in this game.
