I'm so hyped for my Lunar Knight skills, it's gonna be awesome :D Not really sure what subclass to go with for mercenary though. Guess I need to watch a few more vids and decide then.

I should cap more character, currently only my SM is at 40. I want at least one more capped at 40 before the 50 cap.

Also guys, care to elaborate on the "capped character bonus"? I keep hearing about it, but have no idea what it is/what it does.

So is it not recommended to go hybrid on a SM anymore? Guess I messed up my SP already since I went hybrid on my new SM.

@KarStealer; I'm guessing "capped character bonus" is the extra EXP you get when killing monsters and completing dungeons.

  3. Default Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread

For the most part I wouldn't recommend going hybrid, except maybe a few skills for utility. For example, if you're physical then I would say not to ever go past Cyclone Slash in the magic tree. For magic usually people will just go up to Forward Thrust for invincibility frames and that's it. The reason is now skills gain huge bonuses for being leveled up, so you're better off using points into your main skills as that would boost their damage quite a bit.

If you need a reset you can just hold off till 50cap since you get a reset at Lv45 if I'm not mistaken.

Max level/pro bonus? It increases the amount of EXP your other characters get from clearing a dungeon or killing monsters for every character in the entire account that is at max level. I think it's something like a +5% increase for each character.

Really looking forward to my Lightning Relic EX... Strong possibility of 50 cap within the next three weeks. Tekonos says to pay attention to the Facebook page this coming week.

Or I can wait for the one we get at lvl 40.

So does this only apply to SM or can I go hybrid on other classes like my Merc and Paly?

  6. Default Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread

I know almost nothing about any of the female classes except Academic.

For Merc you still pretty much go full hybrid, but Paladin is just about pointless to go too far into the right tree. But you can look around the class section of the official forums and compare other peoples' builds. It gives you a better idea of why some people choose certain skills, and certain levels of skills, etc. Always compare as much as possible until you find something that suits you.

The main reason why you can't really go hybrid for SMs is because half of your tree runs off of physical and the other half runs off of magical. The same applies to Sharpshooters. Paladins could probably apply here too, except some of their more offensive skills use both physical and magical attacks at the same time, and their pure physical skills are just more defensive rather than for DPS in function.

Every other class just stacks a single stat, so they have few problems with going hybrid. This might sound unfair at first, until you take into consideration that the pure magical classes then have to balance stacking that single offensive stat, critical, and stacking elemental damage in order to really dish out the pain. The pure physical classes (Mercenary, Acrobat, and Engineer) don't really have to worry about this, though.

EDIT: Oh, I don't know if you guys have seen this yet.

It's a ways off, but it's a demonstration of the Level 55 EX skills for every class except Alchemist and Mystic. To see the EX skills by themselves:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/HagarenGT

(The way to learn these Lv. 55 EX skills is different from the usual. You MUST use skill books in order to learn them, and they can be crafted using special fragments from the Furious Mezzanine. However, their only pre-requisite is that you have the previous EX skill, and know the skill in question. For example, you don't even have to level up Forward Thrust past 1 to get Forward Thrust EX, you just need Triple Slash EX.)

Before the revamp any decent Swordsman build was hybrid because you had so many points leftover, and some of the skills were a waste to level. Hybrid was the way to go, hands down.

Now it isn't since they've encouraged leveling your ''main stat'' skills since you get way more out of them, which is a good thing.

Yeah, hybrid builds were king in T3. T3 skills scaled up so poorly that in most cases, you only leveled up offensive skills if they gained an extra effect at a certain level (well, in some cases this is still true), if they were a pre-requisite for something (ranking your specialization's starting skill to 11 for the EX version later on), or they were one of the few skills with actual good damage scaling (pretty much every level 32 skill).

EDIT: Quackums > Bullet Barrage. This game is still more balanced than MapleStory as a whole, but I do not understand what the hell the developers were thinking when designing the two Engineer ultimates. Quackums does more damage, it doesn't require you to stand still for 7 whole seconds for full damage, and it traps anything caught in it (while stuff can still walk out of Bullet Barrage's range fairly easily).

I went pure phys on my T3 swordsman but I sort of dropped him after blowing up his armors...

As it stands, this is my engineer (Shooting Star) build:

    http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?i=5-4...w23U7sUGRZiwG8

DNarmory doesn't let me pick a second ulti, which I did in this case because I felt like it. I have 1 SP left as it is, and love The Quackums more than Bullet Barrage. I can do 50k crits with Super Ball at mino nest . Only like 30k in Manti unfortunately...

I would do a technique earring for super ball to increase its damage more, but I'd lose my cerb set effect. May actually buy a cerb necklace and make the swap though.

Apparently there's new EX skills according to the DN forums, not sure if this is fake or not: http://dragonnest.nexon.net/communit...!)%26nxid%3D62

Also, how is this build for my Paladin(Guardian to be for now) lvl40 cap: http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?i=4-2...pyAOP.p5ujyOnv and lvl60 cap: http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?i=4-2...UXOL1IOxTvuOdi
Some skills in Cleric tree are there just to satisfy the requirements for getting some skills.

Yeah, not sure what they were thinking with that change.

It makes no sense at all.

Those look like solid builds to me.

The only active event right now is the farm event. The trivia event two days ago is strongly hinting that 50 cap may fall on October 8th, which is strange because it's a Monday (but we don't know how long the maintenance will take, so I'm all for the idea of patches falling on Mondays from now on). The two login events were supposed to start three days ago, but apparently a maintenance/patch is needed to activate them, and there's an announcment on the site saying that they're going to be delayed until 'the next content patch'.

They're true. I use this site for info about kDN and cDN (although be warned that the locals are elitist as hell towards SEA and NA, and aren't anywhere half as organized as SouthPerry is for Maple).

    http://forum.mmosite.com/board/2-217.html

So far, they've found the following Level 50-60 skill icons in the client. The first skill in each category are already released as Level 55 skills, while the other (or two, in the case of Guardians) will most likely be released at a later date. Additionally, we'll probably get one entirely new skill for each class, but we have no information on that at the moment.

I don't really like that site since it's so unorganized, but I use it from time to time.

I'm still undecided between Guardian and Crusader because of those new skills. The tanking abilities between Guardian and Crusader don't seem that much different since there isn't any Guardian skill that stands out to make Guardians the better tanks, but Justice Crash looks awesome.

  17. Default Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread

Which is why I said Guardian was a tad pointless.

You can still get enough of the defensive skills as a Crusader while getting all the offensive ones. They need to buff Guardians in my opinion.

Yeah, Guardians suffer from long-term poor skill tree design. They don't really have any defensive skills that seperate them from their higher-DPS Crusader counterparts, especially when said Crusaders can easily just grab the skills on the defensive side of the Paladin tree and tank just as well as a Guardian can. The dual ultimate system allowing Crusaders to grab Heart of Glory was a massive blow to any incentives anyone had for choosing Guardian over Crusader.

Guardian Force needs a complete reworking, badly. I don't think it'd be too much to ask for it to grant temporary invincibility to all nearby party members for like 5 seconds. Right now, it's just a really pitiful shell with durability so low that in most situations where the skill would actually be helpful, it'd be wiped out with a single attack. Invincibility might be broken for PvP, but I guess they could keep the current durability system there.

Guardians also need more exclusive defensive skills that actually make a difference, skills that a Crusader absolutely cannot replicate by just going into the defensive side of the Paladin tree. It could be a while before they actually get said skills, as it seems we've nothing but EX skills for the near future.
