And Rod Bazel is Bazlud
Lots of us DEX-full warriors have said this all along that stat-less isn't as great as it's claimed to be. Yes it does offer a fast road to power, but keeping and sustaining that power comes at a terrible price, which often is poorer quality equipment (as DEF is now useful) and spending a fortune on DEX scrolls that are extremely rare, which can leave you weaker in the long run.
DEX does raise ATT and even with potential gear you can max out STR actually. Look at how many items can put things like:
Boss bonus damage
armor piercing
damage bonuses
and the variable 3 lined gear that can add upwards of 18% per a single item to your main stat... and how many of those can you wear at a single time?
Capes, Necklaces, Helmets, Gloves, Shoes, Longcoats, Topwear, Bottomwear, Shields, Weapons, and Belts even just 5 or 6 of those and you break 100% extra addition to your main stat and if you're high enough in level, you can possibly max out your main stat.
Because DEX raises the lower end of you attack range it makes damage more consistent and can actually allow you to do more damage with a shorter damage range than one of a longer damage range. Having damage limited to example: a 5,000 point range allows for more consistent and stable damage, if not more damage, than one crossing a 10,000 point range. Say that's an attack of 2,500 ~ 7,500 versus 1 ~ 10,000 even at the worst possible attack the shorter range is going to be higher, and even though the 10,000 damage is possible, it's highly unlikely you will actually get that damage on a consistent basis.
If anything Potential actually makes stat-full characters more powerful than their stat-less and low-stat cousins. Faster weapons and in these cases, better weapons, allowed by stat-full players and other stat-full gear like the Taru Cape and even those of the unreleased KMS gear, which eventually we will get, are going to have a better potential of damage allowance over those offered by stat-less offerings.
The math is there and it is sound.
Stat-less and low-stat players are screwed now in KMS and are going to be screwed in GMS fairly soon.
"Because DEX raises the lower end of you attack range..."
What?
That was true of pre-BB, but post-BB this is no longer true. The minimum damage is now a multiplier off of the maximum damage. Test it yourself
100 STR, 100 DEX, 50 WATK
261 ~ 373
100 STR, 500 DEX, 50 WATK
470 ~ 671
The range isn't becoming tighter because the minimum damage is based off of a multiplier on maximum damage. AKA (maxDamage * mastery) and minimum damage no longer has a separate calculation.
Possible sources of these new equips, and my opinion of each possibility:
-Best case scenario: Made using the new maker skills.
-2nd best case scenario: all dropped from the Cygnus Knights normal mobs and the bosses.
-Meh case scenario: Armors dropped from the normal Cygnus Knights mobs, weapons from the bosses.
-Bad scenario: Everything is only dropped by The Cygnus Knights job instructors and Cygnus Empress.
-Even worse scenario: Armors only from the CK instructors, weapons from Cygnus Empress.
-Worst case scenario: Everything only comes from the Cygnus Empress.
^@Jamie_Kurosawa what the hell are you talking about
- Having more DEX doesn't make your damage more consistent. Your minimum range is a constant multiplied by your maximum.
- DEX scrolls are not rarer than STR scrolls.
- You can't max out STR if you have more than 23 base DEX.
- Potential system doesn't affect the balance between dexless and normal builds at all. There was no such thing as a secondary stat for Warriors prior to the release of Warrior equips that required dex. Dex was just used to meet an accuracy requirement. You could always add LUK instead of DEX pre-BB.
- No one is "screwed" by the release of these items.
On-topic, I find the MS stat system agonizingly dumb and outdated. There is virtually no reason to add anything but your primary stat except for a few points into your secondary stat to equip items, and if a future release of an item that adds more secondary stat, you have to AP Reset to fix your problem. The entire system needs an overhaul.
Makers new use:
Making a bunch of dummy items with a lot of their secondary stat.
It's not dumb and outdated and Fiel which class are using basing your finding off of?
Let's add up this for a high leveler:
999 STR, 4 DEX, 120 ATT, 50% mastery, and 0 Blessing = 4435 ~ 6336
999 STR, 140 DEX, 120 ATT, 50% mastery, and 0 blessing = 4586 ~ 6551
You CAN reach Maxed out stats that with % boosting Potentials (primary stat based) or any other class. 999 STR was used as a base comparison BTW.
Equips, potentials, etc... stat-less is weaker. Those show exactly the thing Viaje calculated. DEX proved itself and raised ATT and the range. Unless you're calculator is wrong Fiel...
Then lets do 1499/170 versus 1499/4
1499/4 - 6653 ~ 9504
1499/170 - 6837 ~ 9767
- You're using a pre-BB damage calculator
- 999 is a max for base stats. You can go way beyond 999 with equips.
- You said potential. Viaje just showed that the new 140 equips are worth getting the DEX for.
Oh why must statless people be screwed over and over and over and over...
And old lv 200 players too who probably stuck their secondary stats to match Reverse/Timeless equips...
Freaking NexonKR.
Yeah I know. It's still possible for me to pull off a low-luk base and still equip this stuff... but you know how much investing I need to make here? xd
Couple of things for your fucked up math to realize.
1. Holy crap, a 2.65% buff for something that is right now, by the looks of it, impossible to get. MY GOD. WHAT AN INCREASE. I MUST PUMP 166 STATS TO GET A 2.65% INCREASE USING YOUR ASSUNED NUMBERS.
2. Your weapon attack is too low to even be considered.
3. Dear God, the damage formula doesn't follow BASE stat, it follows TOTAL stat.
4. WHERE'S THE DEX IN THE FORMULA?
If you're going to prove me wrong by using your illogical numbers, at least try to do it right next time.
Once again missing my point entirely. It's come to the point that I don't even mind.
You're all sitting here, praising these items without knowing anything about how to obtain them or how to get them. It's obvious that getting this set is harder than getting a full Timeless set, so the effort put into receiving the entire set is going to be great. There have been people on here talking about how raising the cap just for these items is so worth it that they're even planning to do it, without even knowing how to receive the items. Have any of you given any thought about how this "set" would par if you didn't have the complete set? You're all looking at the last bonus without thinking about the other ones in its entirely. Anyway I'm done talking about it because obviously this isn't going anywhere everyone here can have fun raising their stats in disappointment, I don't mind.
@octopusprime... Get used to seeing my signature... if not, then add me to your Ignore list and be quiet about it.
The only thing I'm not seeing from this is in-game application. Right now these are figures. I'd actually like to see combat situations where someone has this equipment and is getting the full-set bonus.
@Dusk... Blame Fiel for posting me to his calculator. If you have a problem with his calculator, ask him, and not me.
2.65% increase is still a noticeable increase regardless of how you look at it. Math is math. I do agree with Fiel, reread the post and do the math in Fiel's calculator correctly and then you'll see the results. That wasn't a pre-BB calculator either unless you're calling Fiel a liar and an idiot to his face, WHICH HE ISN'T. Adding 2.65% to a five digit number can add a few extra hundred points of damage.
Yes 999 is a base stat maximum for STR, but yes with potentials you can get as high as 1499 or 1999 if Big Bang's engine allows for it. I used base stats as a foundation, and you could argue them with any stats.
One thing I don't get is why stat-less and low-stat people feel the need to rub their method in everyone's face... just because you are currently strong doesn't mean you'll always be the strongest. You took the fast path to power, so don't blame the rest of us for your eventual downfall even if by Nexon's hand. I say it's just jealousy Nexon's going to send stat-full people newer gear.
Just because we don't know how to get them, but they are in-game, for KMS means they can be obtained somehow.
