first part: UA pala is fine, my paladin is a UA. Soul Driver hits slower than charged blow, but hits harder and 2 more monsters. paladin is fine in my opinion.

ACB hits 3 more monsters than CB and hits harder (while still being faster) though so that's only relevant for some of 60-100.

I'd mostly advise against Paladin because their specialty is 'elemental damage' and of late, that strictly means going up against extra resistances compared to other warriors. They do tank a bit better but don't have much DPS for endgame content which is already extremely dps-dependant more than anything else.

i only spoke in regards of 3rd job, since no warrior would use soul driver at all in 4th. im aware that 4th job acb is better than soul driver.

to be honest, soul driver isnt that good for any warrior, period. its mostly just the novelty of it, since Mihile Soul Driver isnt even Holy element. that is why i listed the FP and Shadower alternatives, in case he wanted a class that could use the UA skill optimally :x

Well, to be completely honest, I'm not really considering my Pally for end-game or anything. He's more of a project I'm working on until Hayato comes out. Now, I understand that because of that I can probably do whatever I want, since he's a leisure character. But I still wanted to know the consequences of going Two Handed. I'm gonna try both one handed and two handed to see which I enjoy more. Until then, I need to level this Mihile ;-;

Hi all,

After many days of fruitless searching for an answer to my question I have come here.

How are Paladin charges factored into the damage they deal? Is it additive? Is it multiplicative? Also, is it lumped together with other percent damage boosts like boss damage and total damage, or is it calculated prior to these values?

And to clear up anything ambiguous in my question...

**Using GMS Blast(30)'s current damage with Holy(20) as the primary charge and Lightning(20) as the secondary charge

Additive: 200 + ( 1 + 50 + (40 / 2) )

Multiplicative: 200 * ( 1 + 50 + ( 40 / 2) )

If additional info is needed just ask for more.

So, I'm going to be getting back into maple on my 113 Hero. There is a lot that has changed after a 2 year absence (but not as much as I thought would have). I currently have a level 17 evolving ring, a 6% str czak helm, and a lot of clean equips. I will have access to about 4-5b to equip my character and get mastery books. Anyone want to help an old player returning and tell me what I should buy with this money, and how much stuff should roughly cost in Khaini (IDK if there is that big of a difference in server economies anymore...)

Also, I've been roaming the fm for a bit, I can not find Raging Blow 20/30. Which seems to indicate its either rare or worthless. Kind of need that I think

Try and get your hands on some decent tempest equips with %STR as they're pretty cheap atm. if you're lucky, you might be able to snag a 9% ring and shoulder for only 100m a pop or less!

I think by now, they've deflated till less than that... by quite a bit - those prices look like 12%stat eq. In Windia, that is.

Why pay up to 10x as much for something on something that I'll have to spend another 10x it's worth again to cube when I can get a very decent piece of equipment for the fraction of a price?

You don't have to get it right now... you can get it in a month's time or so. Prices are under 500m right now from a cursory look at the FM, so if your set is almost ready this could provide a pretty decent boost. Depending on how far you want to go of course, a good 9-12%stat Tempest shoulder is indeed a good investment for now but won't bring you terribly far.

The stat and set bonuses for the Empress shoulder would offset the %stat from Tempest for me, but I'm not planning on getting one anytime soon.

So, update, I have 9% belt, ring, shoulder, earrings and bottom. I have 6% str top and helm, and 6% damage tempest sword, using 9atk tempest gloves and clean shoes for the bonuses. Also have lvl 17 evo ring 2. And a MoN (picked up a 6% pendant, but MoN is better apparently, and don't know how worth it 9% tempest would be).

Don't have cape, eye/face accessory, and sword only has a 60 on it. Id I had found more 60s, probably would have just used them, but I'm 133 at this point, so could just start trying to get better weapons maybe

I have, 1.5b I'm willing to spend at this time, what should I get?

You have 282 attack or more (possibly even more) and 63% stat with the MoN on. A 9% stat pendant to replace your MoN would theoretically give you 5.5% increase in DPS before MW without your MoN, so count up your WA and see if that ~10WA from your MoN gives you more or less increase in DPS than a 9% stat eq.

Honestly, spend your money elsewhere. Your levelling up of your skills give you way more DPS increase than upgrading that pendant. I was about to suggest Mystic Set for some cheap (read: free) boost in damage but since your belt, pendant and earring slots are taken, you'll have to stick with getting a good cape. Do the Nova quests daily and grab a Nova cape, but that would take many many days.

[In case you're wondering, Mystic set comes from the Silent Crusade shop, accessible from your UI. The 3, 4 and 5 set bonus each gives 6 WA and 7 all.]

The multiplier for 2h sword is higher, but a 1h sword's speed is better. Right now, if you are doing cap damage, the faster sword is better. However, the cap will soon be raised, so they become even once again.

Scrolling shields for attack has become much harder since Ninja Castle was removed and shield attack scrolls no longer drop. Paying billions for a pre-scrolled level 100+ shield (has to be 100+ for good boss damage potential) is hardly worth it when you can get the secondary weapon for free (or 400 Evo World coins, if you want the extra 2 attack).

I'm getting back into MapleStory, and I need an answer: I'm making a Page/White Knight/Paladin character but not such what weapon type I should be using. So my question to you guys is: Is 1H + Shield the best rather than sticking with just a 2H weapon for endgame purposes?

However, I think Paladins need a shield for some of their skills to work right, although this may have changed. Wait for an answer from someone more knowledgeable about them.
