  1. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

The Red Orbs do NOT last as long as coins, can confirm that now. They last about 15 seconds. You have to use Shugyoku no Juin every 10 or so seconds to make effective use of the orbs. Not sure how well this can be performed as of yet. I will be doing more experimentation when I reach 120 on my Kanna and can do some bossing.

As for Sunakake Baba; it's worthless against single monsters. I'm not even sure if it's useful on anything. Essentially, when you use it, the Sand Woman appears behind you, and then you press Attack and she does damage pretty quickly, but it's not high damage or anything. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td_UaoTvxks at 0:26 or so, I use it there. I can purposely go to a higher level area if you want to see it more effectively, it killed those monsters too quickly. Honesty I feel like its only advantage is that it hits a huge horizontal range, but I'm not sure it's slight difference over Tengu makes it remotely worth your time.

I could be wrong, but looks like sunfire/eclipse can hit the cap too.

  3. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

    He's not breaking cap.

  4. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

I think the point is that the extra hits from Sunfire/Eclipse are hitting also the cap, rather than being capped at 50% of normal damage. They're just straight up extra hits at half the skill percentage, not something similiar to Shadow Partner, as in, each extra hit isn't proportional to a corresponding hit of what the skill would normally be doing, so the extra hits can also cap, if you had the funding for it. I'm not really clear on what Joe includes and stuff, but I think this implies that max/s would be equal to, or very close to, hits/s, rather than being less than.

  5. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

Ironically, you can't actually see any of the first digits of the 8th hits when he's in Eclipse for the first two seconds.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am7Xz...eature=related

This one shows that it's possible to hit over 50% of the damage cap. So if you hit 1.5m, your hits will still only do 1m because of the damage cap, but the Sunfire/Eclipse hit will do 750k. It also shows that Light Reflection's reflected hits don't do this, and always do 10% less per target of the damage cap if it's hit, so you can see the 3rd hit does 800k, the 5th hit does 600k at one point, and he moves closer to the right later and you see him hit 900k on the second hit that's off screen most of the time.

It looks pretty fast, and the windup time doesn't seem too long. It might be beneficial if it's as fast as say Tempest of Card. Would you be able to send me a small clip of the full duration vs something that can survive it?

  6. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

I'll use it at Sengoku next time I'm there and record it for you. The harder of those mobs can take a beating.

It's definitely a fast hit rate, but it's only at 270% damage, and I do not believe it activates Shoujou Kashu, which definitely hurts it's damage in comparison to Shisen Gyouha or Haja Rengefuku I would think. I would have to test that though, I don't think I've ever used Baba since I got 4th.

Edit: @JoeTang; when it finishes uploading: http://youtu.be/tF0gJaZhO-Y

I try to use it as much as possible in situations where it wouldn't kill everything before it was finished. As opposed to my suspicions, it does activate Shoujou Kashu, however I still feel that it is rather weak in comparison to Shisen Gyouha. The only advantage it really has is range, and I suppose it there's a possibility it could do better than Tengu if you use it right, but I'm not so sure.

  7. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

It's difficult to get an exact measurement of its attack speed, but it appears to be at least 210ms. The startup delay makes it too slow to be better for single target, but I think it's superior multitarget. Not adding it for now. Here's a table updated with Shisen Gyouha - Retsu's 3rd hit buff. I'll update Hyper Skills to the OP when I have time, but there were no real changes in damage from any job, I think.

  8. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

Curious, what happened to her damage? It was like 9600% on the previous calculation, and now it's under 7000%.

  9. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

That was originally a guess with Haja Rengekifu being 120ms, but it's actually 330ms. I assumed such a high attack speed because it would actually spend spirit power, and be a strong bossing skill. But it's not.

  10. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

Oh alright. Maybe ShiKage is right and later on they'll buff it. Maybe.

  11. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

They haven't buffed Shinsoku Musou, I wouldn't bet on it.

  12. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

I had thought the same exact thing when he initially said that about Haja Rengekifu in my build thread. Probably will have to wait until the first revamp...if the classes ever get one. Wonder when that will be.

  13. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

I just want to ask, why is evan always fastest(2)? I mean if it uses a staff or wand, there's only -3 wep speed. I also tried calculating the dps by myself, but it was much higher than the chart. Was the 1.5x from magic amplification and 1.35 from dragon fury added?

  14. Default Re: Magician %/s (Tempest Magician, Evan, Battle Mage, and Luminous)

    -2 from Dragon Soul and -2 from Magic Booster. You're adding wrong. (4 * 380 + 0.4 * 200)/ 0.51 * 2.05 * (1 + 0.45 * 0.5) = 7878, which is what I get when I remove buffs from the calculation.

  15. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

Yeah I tested it and arcane's aim and Amp are still multiplicative. Idk how Burining magic comes into play but Arcane's aim and magic amp are multiplicative.

Prove: Range=23364 without any character cards.
    Paralyze = 240% damage
    amp =150% magic attack
    arcanes aim= 140% damage
    Ignore defence= 30%(codex)+15%(neb)+20%(arcanes aim)+5%(Ambition)=70%
    Posion Poopa = 5% PDR

highest none crit damage on posion poopa should be 23364*2.4*1.5*1.4*(1-(.05-.05*.7))=115988
    If additive 23364*2.4*(1+.5+.4)*(1-(.05-.05*.7))=104941
    Spoiler

    Spoiler

OK so this is higher than what it should be given current PDR. so incase I have 100% ignore (I dont) then the highest damage I should see is:

    For multipliative: 23364*2.4*1.5*1.4=117754
    For addivative :23364*2.4*(1+.5+.4)=106539

So idk if im missing some Ignore PDR but aim and Arcane's aim are multiplivicative Unless Burning magic is always on even if they are not currently posioned. which brings the additvated damage with 100% Ignore PDR (again I only have 70% idk what the hell is going on) to:
    106539*1.1=117193

This is assuming burning magic is multiplicative to Arcane's aim and Amp. if everything is addivatie it ends up short. coming to 23364*2.4*(1+.5+.4+.1)=112147.

Oh and here are my stats:
    Spoiler

So I should test some more to see if burning magic actually activates or if it is just always active, before I can really draw the conculsion that Amp and Arcane's Aim are multiplivative. So I will be doing that in a bit. Yay for traveling.

Edit: ok none of my images are working. so idk how to do that. Ill just list the damage I was talking about and my stats.
Edit 2: Maybe the rest of my Ignore PDR is coming from Mist eruption. But I feel like that ignore is only for the skill itself. I dunno guess I'll try testing that out some time.

Edit 3: Ok now im confused. The data I collected offical knight B in stronghold and Mutant Pigs is just a bunch of inconstant data.
    For Official Knight B
    Spoiler

Shows the damage of 112589. After doing calculations similar to the ones above just switching out 5% PDR for 10% PDR the max damage I can achieve is 113678 for (aim+Amp)*Burining and 125644 for Aim*amp*burning.
I never hit hiter than the 112xxx so this shows that Aim and amp are addivated to each other and multiplied by burning.

But when I was at mutant Pigs my damage was this:
    Spoiler

They are 2 criticals hitting for 177244 each. If you divide everything out you either get:

177244/2.4/1.5/1.5/1.4/1.1/.93=22917 which is outside my damage range. (had to switch buffs for them.)

If you have amp and Arcanes aim as addivated you get
177244/2.4/1.5/(1 +.5+.4)/1.1/.93=25330 which is even MORE outside my damage range.
The range required for hitting this critical will get bigger and bigger as more things become addative with each other. (crit and Burining magic specifically.)

So yeah. gonna take a break from this now. dont know what to make of this. May just test everything again.

FINAL EDIT: Got pictures up. Thanks JoeTang

    imgur.com

Can you double check to see if you have 360 MATK?

  17. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

    Yeah I have 360. 5 from alliance, 24 from cyngus, 10 from mastery, 30 from buff mastery, 30 from medation, 15 from set bonus, 174 from weapon, 1 from medal, 1 hat, 2 overall, 5 gloves, 1 shoe, 1 pendent, 5 shoulder, ring1 is 2, ring2 is 3, ring3 is 0, ring4 is 10, 2 eye wear, 5 face, 27 from innerablitity, 1 from totem, and 6 from earrings. which is 360.

And it matches up if you use my range & int & luk to find magic attack.

And I put up the images in the first post.

  18. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

Official Knight Bs have 35% defense.

The possibilities now are they are all multiplicative with each other, or Elemental Amplification is multiplicative with the others, and Burning Magic and Arcane Aim are additive.

  19. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

Really? Hidden-street should update their archive then. And would you have anyway to test if they are either all multiplicative or Amp is multiplicative of the addition for Buring magic and Arcane's aim. I can only think if when the mage revamp comes test it before you put any points into Arcane's Aim. Though I supspect that Elemental Amp is muliticative with the others, and Burning magic + Arcane Aim are additivite because of how the discription reads out. Amp says its 150% of magic attack while Burning and Aim are just % damage.

  20. Default Re: Magician %/s (Justice Magician, Evan, and Battle Mage)

That's probably what's happening. With your damage, there's about a 3k difference between all multiplicative, vs Burning Magic and Arcane Aim additive, so it would just take a lot more trying, but since you said you couldn't hit higher than 112xxx on Official Knight B, and the theoretical max with this is 112918, whereas all multiplicative is 115929.
