    Entry

    In order to face Magnus, you'll need to go to Nova's Helisium Headquarters to start the quests

    -Number of Player: 1-6

    -Level: Must be at least level 100

    (Normal Mode) There is no limit on how many times you can enter, but you may only clear it once every 24 hours
    (Hard Mode) There is no limit on how many times you can enter, but you may only clear it once every 7 days

    There is a total of 5 System when fighting Magnus


    Field System (Passive Effect)

    -All your potion/item have a 5 seconds share cooldown
    -When you die you will be revive in the same map that you died with full HP and MP

    <KMS ONLY> -You will continually take damage every few seconds
    <KMS ONLY> *Every 3 seconds you will lose 1% of your total HP (Normal Mode)
    <KMS ONLY> *Every 1.25 seconds you will lose 1% of your total HP (Hard Mode)

    <KMS ONLY> *Example Map -Like in the Aqua zone or the El Nath zone you will take dmg over time

    Zone Control system

    -Magnus will form a blue zone that will move as he moves

    -All your healing potion/item effect will have full effect if you are inside of the blue zone
    -All your healing potion/item effect will be reduce by 90% if you are outside of the blue zone
    -Magnus will take full damage if you are attacking from the inside of the blue zone
    -Magnus will only take 10% of your damage if you are attacking from the outside of the blue zone

    <KMS ONLY> -You will continually take damage every few seconds if your are outside of the blue zone
    <KMS ONLY> *Every 3 seconds you will lose 10% of your total HP if your are outside of the blue zone (Normal Mode) (Stack with Field system)
    <KMS ONLY> *Every 1.25 seconds you will lose 10% of your total HP if your are outside of the blue zone (Hard Mode) (Stack with Field system)

    -When Magnus Hp is 75% or Less -The blue zone will become 15% smaller
    -When Magnus Hp is 50% or Less -The blue zone will become 30% smaller
    -When Magnus HP is 25% or Less -The blue zone will become 60% smaller

    Bombardment system

    -You will have to be continuously dodging projectiles
    *Green balls will deal damage equal to 50% of your HP
    *Blue and Purple balls are instant death
    *The Death Balls will never fail it doesnt matter what type of avoidability or invulnerabilities you might have

    -When Magnus HP is 75% or Less -The Death Balls Speed and the drop rate will be 1.5x faster
    -When Magnus HP is 50% or Less -The Death Balls Speed and the drop rate will be 2x faster
    -When Magnus HP is 25% or Less -The Death Balls Speed and the drop rate will be 3x faster

    Death Count system

    -When you and/or your party have died 20 time or more in (Normal Mode)
    *The Speed of the Bombardment system will become 5x faster and the object of the falling death ball will also be 5x more often
    *The Zone Control system become 60% smaller and much harder to stay inside the blue zone
    *Magnus Attack Speed is Double
    -When you and/or your party have died 20 time in (Hard Mode)
    *You have Fail the Mission and everyone in the map will be expell from the map

    -When you and/or your party have died 20 time

    Sleeping Gas system

    -Around the map there will be little sprayers that hit you with gas

    *If you get hit by the Sleeping gas you will be not able to move or attack
    *The Sleeping Gas last for 10 seconds
    *The sleeping Gas is Undispellable / Unresistable / Potion Lock

    Reward

    -Magnus drops the Former Kaiserium, Nova equipment (Normal Mode)

    what a retarded boss fight. The blue and purple balls can instantly kill you, and he can knock you into them. They ALSO work like Aswan, from what I can tell, and will hit you through invincibility frames/skills.

    That's why you dodge the balls... or get hit by a green ball instead of those bigger balls... balls are not fun.

    This whole new boss system is stupid, trying to make Maplestory more challenging... psh.

    No point in getting hit by the green ones if they ignore invincibility anyways.

    Well if he doesn't have DR, 1/1, or pot lock, then this isn't as bad as I thought it would be. ALTHOUGH. Dodging the balls isn't always as simple as it seems. Sometimes misfortune will come your way and he'll knock you into one, or you'll be put to sleep right under one.

    At least you can all-cure out of the gas. Would suck hard if it was one of those silly debuffs like Seduce where you're just a piece of meat for 10 seconds, unless you have a skill that has a 5 minute cooldown.

    They're really reinforcing the idea of "There is no such thing as tanking".

    It's great that they buffed Paladins to have 62% guard rate, maxed out defenses, 12 hit Divine Shield with 60% activation, and 71% damage reduction from Achilles + Power Guard...

    ...too bad ALL OF THIS MEANS NOTHING!

    What's the point of a Paladin when your survival rate is the same as everyone else... you're basically a weak Hero with permanent-Enrage (which isn't a good thing).

    Well, the old boss system is getting a bit stale, sadly in a 10 year old game it's hard to improve upon mechanics.

    Updated on Magnus ..... magnus will take dmg from attacking outside of blue zone but only take 10% of the dmg

    Update on Magnus HP on hard mode is about 140B HP

    Those updates to Magnus HP seem to be after the Unlimited update. Were they the same before?

    Also you can't all-cure or dispel (I think) out of the sleeping gas. Basically it's avoid the gas or die.

    When you respawn there's a few seconds of no-balls that let you quickly get your key buffs on, but you gotta be fast. You've got time for about 2-3 buffs before they start falling again.
