The database was breached last year. I know who did it. Many of you do too as they're the same people who posted the list of account information recently on SW, but of course that account wasn't indicative of their true identities.

I can scream this confirmation from the rooftops but of course it means nothing because it's my word via proof in a phone call with a friend, something I can't prove easily here in a post. Paul's logic thread is more rock-solid, so look to that for unshakable proof. But yes, the important information is that the database was hacked last year.

So.... people are trying to get PIC resets by logging in tickets

but my old question, what information has been found out about the account?

  3. Default

    E-mail
    First Name
    Last Name
The first secret question (just the question, not the answer)

If you read my arguments before (you quoted them, so you should have), the things found out are located within the argument.

I wasn't sure if you were just giving an example or saying "yea this HAS been found out already"

Not like I can change mine anyways, with my email being expired and everything.

Funny. Mapletip deleted my thread. I thought they'd have enough sense.

    Hidden-street is alright with it.

this is an ultimate challenge wow, seriously i really hope you wont get hacked so thatll make the PIC an awesome system against hacks.. i was very afraid itll be a failure..

  9. Default

Hidden-street will continue to be okay with it so long as they dont go listing hack programs and sites. In any case it's a valid test currently. Due to our smaller group I doubt you'll get much action from HS however.
How did people create characters? you don't need to put in your PIC for that?

50mil is not even $5. Should have lied and took ss' of your equipment on the account, then take it back. I haven't heard any word of a PIC cracker successfully working. But I'm with Dan on this, even if Eos ignorantly disagrees.

Yeah, you don't need to put in your PIC to create a character.

@DustBunny roughly $25, going by the meso bags.

Without knowing my reasons you cannot ascribe ignorance to my vote without revealing your own.

You claimed I thought of them as masterminds, you claimed they were incapable because they didn't know how to obtain one hacking method. You already elaborated your so called reasons. I elaborated mine and like a child, muted because you didn't like what I said to say.

Also, if you're buying meso bags, you might as well buy mesos, $5 will get you 50m. Pretty sure since these hackers liquidate their items into mesos to sell, they would know that.

I wouldn't call Eos ignorant; he's a brilliant computer scientist, and I'm just a competent technology enthusiast with powerful hacker friends who, after seeing what they can do, respects the power of these knowledgeable and capable people. I also consider myself a globally-aware human being, and through such a perspective demonstrate a potent humility to the potential of possibility. Nothing is safe in this world, if you choose to think of humanity shrouded in such darkness, yet also nothing is destined towards chaos, if you choose to believe in such light. In the end, closing the mind to the capacity, the existence of anything proves the most detrimental, folly act we can commit.

With that I echo my previous comments: I expect the account to be hacked, but will not be surprised if it's not. Paul himself created an elaborate device to add to the security of the PIC, and the fact that such a construct exists without any knowledge towards the specifics adds another element of complexity to the puzzle. My only comment, thus, finds its foundation in my musings above: voting "Yes" in this poll is the only reasonable act of pragmatism, as it shows an understanding and acceptance of the possibile. Voting "No," and staunchly declaring with absolute certainty the account will not be hacked is therefore close-minded, and I would invite those believing in such truths to question their convictions and determine whether they're based on logical fact - or a refusal, ground in the hope of progress, to believe in the uncertain.

And the post in question is...?

Your reasons are without evidence, rely on hearsay and require the carte blanche acceptance of the honesty of so called hackers in admitting what they can and can not do. You also seem to think I am the only one here capable of moderating a post. Neither lends credibility to your opinion.

You're failing to take into account a key fact in your determination of what "No" means - The time limit. Infinite monkeys with infinite computers can accomplish anything, eventually. Saying no doesn't necessarily mean we believe it's any more secure, it may simply mean we doubt they can adapt that quickly, especially if they're still raiding people who haven't set PICS yet. Even hackers have priorities. Wide open vs more effort.

He whined about not being able to tell his inappropriate posts were being deleted and therefore didn't know he should stop reposting it over and over and some other silly ranting so to make it clear that message was replaced with a deleted notice that he apparently holds a grudge against. It's off topic here and Fiel even pointed out the threads were being moderated in accordance to policy about discussing hackers and FUD.

Well that's truly comforting, Eos. Guys, vote "No" if you're hopeful you won't be hacked in 14 days, but who can say 15, 16, 17 days after the onset of the experiment.

You don't have to be right all the time Eos. You tend to try and find any little fault in what everyone says just so you can correct it. I'm sorry, but what I said is uncorrectable because I designed it to be gray. Life is gray, if you view it from the perspective of black & white. There's no telling what can occur, and you even submitted to that mentality by countering my post with a "What if?" that falls in the domain of a hopeful success with this experiment. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, and I'm not saying voting "Yes" or "No" is correct, even if I claim one is "the only reasonable act of pragmatism." All I wish to do is invite people to step outside their closed boundaries into a world of potential, because I'm willing to bet many of the "No" votes did not approach the subject from the view you did, but rather the hopeful notion that this experiment will succeed and thus "prove" their accounts are safer.

tl;dr? Anything is possible. I'm right, I'm wrong, Eos is right, Eos is wrong, Paul is right, Paul is wrong. Does it matter? Who cares. Accept the inevitability of the uncertain and prepare to adapt when the moment comes.

    When I am right, I am right. When I am not, I am not. Your accusation seems to be more self incriminating in this case;
Your statement was not gray, it was an absolute that supplied the motivations of others, falsely, or at the very least misinterpreted the potential meanings of the vote. As one of those people misrepresented I corrected you.
