  2. Default Re: Characterization

I think a witty, immature character would be quite amusing.

    It's a current trend.

    Default Re: Characterization

I find Intelligent/Mature boring unless they're being tested in some form

Ignorant/Immature usually comes off as unlikable no matter what. (Jersey Shore might fit for the example there)

So I think i like Intelligent/Immature for that 'love to hate' quality.

and Ignorant/Mature because of inspirational underdogs.

    Default Re: Characterization

I'd like to point out that intelligent and ignorant are not opposites.

Intelligent is the opposite of stupid. Ignorant is the opposite of knowledgeable.
An intelligent but ignorant character (common example: an alien on earth) is often used to point out the absurdities of our culture.
(Maturity/immaturity is not part of this. The alien may be as childish as Mork or as serious as Spock).

  10. Default

I particularly like Garak from Deep Space Nine and though it wouldn't do him justice to be classified as immature, he does have some certain playful quirks.

  11. Default Re: Characterization

First thing that popped into my mind was House.
