It does depend on what content they're releasing, but I meant it in the sense that you could get several level 200s now if you wanted that SS deck effect than to train one character to level 250 since you'd probably only want to do that for your main character in the first place and this cap likely won't come to any version besides KMS for some time.
Hmm, I don't know about that. Takes me roughly 3 weeks to get a character to 175 if I can get into it, plus I'd have my phantom for sure hitting 250 whenever that comes to GMS, and on top of that people and me already have alternate characters that are well into 4th job. So I'd rather focus on my main and have my alts get to the minimum requirement for the SS deck, mainly because that 180~200 is really tedious. You've maxed your skills, you have your end gear, you can't really boss that well, and parties are hard to find; so there's no motivation for me to go through that, unless of course the class is good enough to make it bearable...
Let's not get into how my motivation dropped to the Marianas Trench right after my Phantom maxed out Maple Warrior.I figure that I should be able to get some more mileage out of maxing Tempest but I only have Vol D'Ame and Hero's Will after that but on the whole I basically only need 3 hours maximum to get around 80+% daily currently which should be good enough for my goal.
It'd better work anyhow as I've got other things to do.
hopefully the new expansion yields better mobs
but i think SEA would have either shut down or totally not fit for training ...
From Max's blog:

Just posting this here to calm some people down a little bitFor the first time in 10 years of MapleStory, the level cap has been increased to level 250! This applies to all characters, except for the Knights of Cygnus who have not yet been reorganized (although once they are, they will also be able to reach 250).
However, after level 200, you will no longer gain AP or SP. Maximum level quests such as medals and the hall of fame will still be given to you at level 200. The rankings from before this change will be saved on the MapleStory homepage.![]()
I bet level 250 will be unreachable for a good while, or at least very distant, and I'm ok with that. Level 250 should be like level 200 was in the old days, something legendary.
That is, until Nexon makes the game easier again--BUT LEGEND GOZPEL THE GAME ISNT HARDZ LOLZ IT WAS NEVER HA"·$"%$yt·"SHUT THE pineapple UP, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
Anyway. One day we'll have thousands of people with multiple level 250 characters, and Nexon will have to raise the cap to 300.
Mark my words.
I wonder how that 180+ training area is after you complete root, also from max "as well as a Door to the Future expansion in the Temple of Time". That expansion comes on the 21st so i guess we'll see what's there
hope that gate to future expansion is better. 12k exp per kill, at least it's flat![]()
That's it? one map with recycled mobs that don't even drop anything?
Wow.
Looks like HoH it is!
I think it's great that the level cap is being raised. I might even start up a new character myself.
A lot of us have complained about the lack of good, end game content, and this is our answer.
Sure, we complained about the endless grind back in the days of 2005-2009, but most of us here are unanimously in agreement that those days were much, much better than the Maplestory of today. The challenge and the worthwhile competition was what made it fun. And I frankly can't wait to relive that.
Are you referring to the end game content which is the video seen on this very page, aka large disappointment, or the new potential "5th job" which is them essentially squeezing in new classes. End game content doesn't mean "HIGHER BAR TO HIT", it means content after the bar is hit.
Hahaha no AP or SP for leveling above 200 nevermind guys shut it down this update is balls
It's been awhile.
My use of "end game content" was intended to encompass a broader definition of gameplay in general. I should have been more clear.
Level 250 sounds really cool, but I'd need to read more of this thread to really get my head around how much the game has changed since I last played seriously.
