In this 'if' scenario we're assuming they are allowing it which is why it's up in the air in the first place. Which is plausible because I don't believe they are part of the international law, their internet is greatly censored if i recall. To be honest now that I look at it in a money perspective the US will just block any IP/radio frequency to that specific sattelite, would cost nearly nothing.

This is China we're talking about. They would NOT allow it. The entire hypothetical is irrelevant - if someone tried to put a private drone in their airspace, they'd shoot it down immediately. They're irritated enough at our military planes flying around, they're damned sure not going to let "civilian" drones do the same thing.

File sharing is a religion in sweden.
    Literally.

I doubt China would do anything to piss us off considering our current relationship. Russia though I'm honestly not sure of. I'm not entirely confident saying we're in good standing with them currently.

You really don't understand China if you honestly believe that.

I don't have to understand anything besides the fact that most of their investments have been liquidated to US bounds, so by pulling the rug under us they f`uck themselves over.

What you don't understand is that neither China nor Russia would believe this drone is truly a private civilian relay dedicated to the people's right to steal.
They will claim, and probably believe, it is a USA surveillance (spy) drone, even if the US government loudly demands its destruction.
They will shoot it down instantly, if not sooner.

If we're under the assumption it has been launched they'd need some type of government permission correct? Especially at countries with such a power hold, that it wouldn't be attempted unless spoken with the government.

The whole thing I'm having with flonne is that it doesn't matter if it's hanging over china, they'd probably shut it down with our request. This is assuming they allowed it to begin with and didn't think the US would care all that much. Or what the f`uck ever.

You and (assuming) masspans argument is they wouldn't allow it to begin with.

Shooting down a civilian drone aircraft (no pilot = no casualties!) operating illegally in your airspace is not an act of war. It would have no more impact on trade between US and China than our Coast Guard seizing drug trafficking vessels does with Colombia.

What you're trying to debate is with flonne not me. I'm saying for a specific circumstance if it has been authorized, allowed, permitted, whatever adjective you can think of, then requesting/taking action would not be difficult for the united states. Keep up please.

But but but these are "pirates", why would they go seeking permission from anyone?

This article suggests that UAV's are an idiotic idea.
More likely, they'll use satellites. That gives them a much longer lifetime and makes them safe from countries just using a SAM to take them out.

Why pay when you dont have to? Im not gonna buy/rent a pomegranatety movie. I'd buy it after watching it and if I think it's "worthy" of being in my bookshelf, however.
