That's actually easy.
We know, from the tutorial sequence of some classes, that they were level 200 when they fought the Black Mage.
We also know that they could not destroy him. They were barely able, with the help of a Goddess, to seal him.
As we see now, that seal was not strong enough to hold him indefinitely. It's breaking or already broken.
Therefore, obviously, the heroes and all other classes must train harder, and level higher. They must learn new skills, stronger than they ever had before, if they are to defeat the Black Mage when he returns.
As for where these new skills and their energies came from, one idea is that the cooperation and synergy between Maplers and Novans gives rise to powers neither race had before. Or something.
Meh.
I understand why people are annoyed with this, but at the same time i can see why they did it. What is there left to do once you hit 200? You've basically finished the main goal.
But at the same time this doesn't affect me much considering my highest ever character is 76 and that was after big bang.
What purpose does that serve than to make a climb towards the peak of Everest seem like a struggle to get one-thirds of the way up to Olympus Mons? A grind is a grind regardless of whether you hate it or you have fun partying with your friends, de-buffs mean little when it's bosses where most abilities apply any way and buffing wouldn't do much for monsters unless one addresses balance issues where most semi-funded classes can one-shot them. Frankly, forget talking about this cap for a moment: If the content released along with this is not good enough it defeats the whole purpose of increasing the cap because the people at level 200 will get to level 250 and boredom will set in once again.
I thought it was obvious. The twisted Cygnus Knights appeared because of finding the world tree... Shouldn't it be the world tree's power what revives Shinsoo and raises the level cap for cygnuses what raises the top level of everyone else? I'm quite sure they made us "find" the world tree before this update for a reason.
Then only NXful classes stand a chance. 90% of the people quits. Other 10% quits out of boredom.
That's far from saving it. If you want to save it, make it more fun, more team oriented, and make unique things for different characters. LHC alone is boring, and that's basically its problem. BORINGNESS.
Not when you consider how Nexon likes to hype up the process of gaining levels (Or more like their EXP cards). The other mountain I was referring to is more than three times the height of Everest so my comparison was less geared towards the hamster cage wheel grind and more towards the insane numbers you'd be seeing just getting there.![]()
250? pomegranate.
I can't gain 5% at 150 without falling asleep.
People think EXP gain rate will stay the same as now? It is obvious that it will inflate just like the rest of the numbers in this game.![]()

You're basically make it impossible for a regular player to enjoy the game. What they should really do is make stats more dynamic and do something about item potential being a total game-breaker.
I may be wrong, but wasn't Maple supposed to be a social game? That would mean they need make things where you actually need a party instead of soloing.
Oh what the....
That's it. Bye bye Maple!
relevant for some people
I, on the other hand, welcome this update <3
