Consider that you can NOT say that unless you happen to know that Phantom's skill "stealing" is done by activating a copy of the skill in question that is pre-programmed into Phantom's own skill table. If, for example, it's done "by reference" (i.e., Phantom's skill table entry for a stolen skill contains only a pointer or a skill-id, not all the details), then phantom can steal any version.
http://maplestory.nexon.net/Communit...012%26nxid%3D6Hello Maplers,
We will be performing an unscheduled server maintenance beginning on June 28, 2012 to address an issue that's causing game servers to crash. The maintenance will last approximately 4.5 hours.
Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
-Time-
Pacific: 10:30 AM Thursday, June 28, 2012 - 3 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012
Eastern: 1:30 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012 - 6 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012
-What will be unavailable-
All MapleStory game servers
Thing is, though, that most skills will be unstealable, because they use entirely new IDs in most cases, like thieves. That was the main doubt everyone had about their skillbooks/passed mastery books... And ok, it turned out to be that everything worked... Ok, starting to have my doubts too.
Well, looks like I won't be able to solo Bodyguards anymore -_-
Lmao. I knew it was too good to be true to have a timely patch and get to play on my day off.
If Phantom is released earlier than the Pirate Revamp, seeing that Pirates have current and new skills in the data; would it be possible for a Phantom to steal current Pirate skills (example, Corkscrew Blow) and keep it until the current skills are overwritten (patched) by the new skills.
Pretty much making a Phantom play as a vintage Pirate.
Possibly, But the problem with that is, Any skill that turns into another skill, the Phantom's skill would also turn into that as well, Because the explorer data that Phantom's skill pull's from would have changed.
Say a Phantom stole Corkscrew Blow, When the Pirate Update hits, That corkscrew blow would change into the new Corkscrew. Same with Barrage>Octopunch, Etc...
I cant think of any skill that would be useful to save between Pre- to Post pirate revamp
Possibly not. It would depend on what that system actually does, as mentioned earlier. Whether it's referencing other original skills or referencing Phantom version of those skills, and whether the changes will use the same IDs (which as I understand, they do?).
I mean, any time you're screwing around with the order of implementation you expose potential for flaws. When new material is written, it's done so with consideration of what is already implemented. In KMS, Pirate revamp already happened by Phantom time from what I recall, so this test case would've never come up and thus it is theoretically possible that issues will arise.
