Character Card Deck effects

Just wondering how exactly the card deck buffs work: say I have 3 Pirate cards (2 Explorer, 1 Resistance), can I get the Pirate Spirit ignore monster DEF effect if those three cards aren't in the same deck? Similarly, if I have 3 Explorer cards but they're not in the same deck, do I still get the effect? Or do the cards all have to be together for that to work?

Also, is there a list of card deck buffs per rank? There's a list of the maximum level bonuses on Max's blog but I highly doubt many people are going to have everything at SS rank, myself included. Thanks a lot!

My understanding is that they need to be in the same deck to get the set effect. Thats why your allowed 2 decks, to set them up for 2 sets.

You can multiply the stats I wrote by 0.25, .5, and .75 to get the B, A, and S rank bonuses :)

Yes. You get the effects of all 6 cards, + 2 set bonuses for the 2 sets.

I think the 3 thief bonus would be usefull for my Phantom giving him (assuming it's using a nightwalker ,4th job db and 4th job phantom ) 7% avoid ,4% meso drop , 4% crit damage , 500 HP and MP, 1 attack and magic attack but I'm sure there is a better combination. I don't mind taking the time now to get any char to 120 but I'm having trouble figuring out what will be the most benificial.

I'm also planning my character cards exclusively for Phantom ^^u

Since my DS is 200, and my Paly and Aran are on their way there, I'm planning on doing the all Warrior Set effect. I'm also foregoing a second set effect, besides the Rank one, in order to increase the time in which I'd be able to use Luck of Phantom Thief, so I'm going with this:

Deck One:
DS (SS) - Status Resistance
Paly (S/SS) - Level to Damage
Aran (S/SS) - HP Drain

All Warrior (S/SS) - % HP to Damage
All Ranked (S/SS) - HP/MP +700, ATK/MATK +3, 3% Boss Damage (HP/MP +1000, ATK/MATK +5, 5% Boss Damage)

Deck Two:
Mercedes (S) - Cooldown Reduction
Mechanic (S) - Increase Buff Duration
Marksman (S) - Increase Crit Rate

All Ranked (S) - HP/MP +700, ATK/MATK +3, 3% Boss Damage

However, depending on how much the increased crit would really help with Blanc/Noir Carte, I might considering alternatively doing this:

Deck One:
DS (SS) - Status Resistance
Mechanic (S) - Increase Buff Duration
Battle Mage (S) - Decrease Damage Taken

All Resistane (SS) - All Stats +10
All Ranked (S) - HP/MP +700, ATK/MATK +3, 3% Boss Damage

Deck Two:
Aran (S/SS) - HP Drain
Mercedes (S) - Cooldown Reduction
Evan (S) - MP Drain

All Legendary Heroes (SS) - All Stats +10
All Ranked (S) - HP/MP +700, ATK/MATK +3, 3% Boss Damage

The all faction set effects, like all Adventurers, Cygnus, whatever, are based on the highest card, so even if you had one SS Ranked card, it'd give you the full SS Rank set effect, unlike the other sets which are based on the lowest card.

I've only tested this with All A Ranked and All Adventures up to S Rank, though.
In kMS, I have two All A Ranked set effects active, and my Adventurer deck consists of my Dual Blade (S), and other characters (A), and the all adventurer deck gives the S rank effect.

Huh now that's interesting. Although the only time it'll come up for me is if the All-warrior+all-adventurer cumulative effects are better than all-S.

DS (S) + Dark Knight (S) + Aran (S) -> All Warrior
vs.
Paladin (S) + Dark Knight (S) + Crusader (A) -> All Warrior, All Adventurer

I think it ends up being +2 atk +200 hp +3% bossing vs. +8-all. On a boss, the triple-S wins, otherwise Adventurer wins.
(the real solution is train my Crusader to Hero...)


It's too bad none of the factions (cygnus, adventurer, resistance, heroes) have 3 classes with useful bonuses. Makes it kinda less helpful to get them, if you're picking out any class you want.

I'm mostly wondering about the ones that aren't accurate from the list (Paladin, I/L Archmage, and Flame Wizard have "level to all stat" listed, but Paladin, at least, doesn't do that - it adds to damage, which is what Viper and Striker are listed as having)

Also, is Cannon Trooper's -5% exp lost a straight up change? If I lose 9% now, it becomes 4%?
