Using Sacrifice is better then impale for lets say, fighting Zakum?
I don't know exactly how it works, and haven't tested post-Chaos, but testing I did before (post-BB) indicate that when not using combo, a Hero's crits are 50% higher damage than non-crits. With fully charged Advanced Combo, the crits are only 25% higher than non-crits.
Only explanation I've heard is that crit range is based on damage range, and thus ignores the damage boost that Combo gives. (A Hero's damage range, in the stats display, doesn't go up as the Combo charges). However, Advanced Combo gives more than a 25% damage boost when fully charged... so is crit only ignoring Combo, but not Advanced Combo? I don't know, to be honest. Haven't got a crusader to test this on. I also can't practically test what happens with partially charged Advanced Combo.
The theory was that normally, criticals are 1.2~1.5x your damage range, but for Advanced Combo, it becomes (2 + 0.2) ~ (2 + 0.5)x your damage range since it's additive to Advanced Combo, unlike every other skill in the game. As far as I know, this was never completely proven.
I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary - as long as Heroes have been able to crit, damage has borne out the theory that crit% is added to combo%, not multiplied.
Then again if they're changing how much damage elements add, they could change other things tooI need to grind a Hero so I can stop relying on second-hand evidence.
If someone could investigate whether Chance Attack is then 1.25x or +0.25 to Combo's bonus, that would be cool. Wish Tespia were up right now.
Accurate Critical on Advanced Combo Attack added. Added a weapon speed adjuster. Added a Flame Charge comparison. Does better vs mobs, inferior for single target. This is under the presumption they fix it so it actually works.
Adjusted Enrage back to 1.60x
