I was genuinely amused when I saw 'Post KMST patch' damage threads on Basilmarket with formulas such as 1/5 for Claw and 1.2/6.4 Gun and Critcal Damage was now apparently 'based off a 2* multiplier value' and assuming every class had 50% Mastery (.5*max range) including Arans and DrKs.

    Also, I'm curious:

Does Fiel copy information off Spadow or the other way around? Or perhaps they both use the same source?

Regardless, I have utmost respect for Fiel, as I know he puts a lot of effort into getting this information to the public knowing that his work will eventually be leeched off into ungrateful communities like Sleepywood and Basilmarket.

Idiots are narrow minded. They focus their limited brain power only on things directly related to what they want to know.

Take a look at the Aran Forum section of Basilmarket. You will be amused.

Spadow does. The only thing I've casted doubt over Fiel's authorship is the 4th job skill tables.

It's better than his days in Sleepywood though, ahh, those days.

Just calculated my MA/Int ratio, for the same increase as one MA I need 4.2 INT.

Also, those multipliers applied to the stats make a lot of sense. They balance out the class depending on the amount of attack they can get. Mages have a multiplier of .88 because of how much more MA they can get compared to other class's WA.

Nope. I authored the fourth job skill tables (almost) from the ground up. There was a previous writer of it (his name escapes me now), but he just did general overviews of each skill. I went level by level and included quests (Thanks AiJMS) and animations. Much of the way the current skill tables are laid out is due to how the first skill readouts were done from when 3rd job came out.

Regarding Spadow, I'd say we both borrow from each other. He has access to things I don't have access to such as the ability to play the game and read Korean, but I tend to be better at reading the data and showing new items. We're good complements to each other, and many Southperrians read both my extractions and spadow's blog. His blog is also more popular on other sites where my name is banned, haha.

Every single 4th job skill tables out there is derived from my fourth job skill tables. It's one of the biggest achievements I did back in 2007-2008.

Exactly what I thought. Good to hear that my favorite Fiel work is Fiel-authored, though.

So there is no traditional defense anymore? Well at least it's really easy to calculate.

EDIT: Wait... is PD damage regular 'ole defense? Why do they make the tag so confusing? Damn Koreans. Now we need to find out which of the two is calculated first. Can anyone tell me where there's a monster that has a high PDRate that isn't a boss?

The ragequiters will simply make my Maple experience a whole lot better.

PDDamage is regular ol' defense. PDRate is something new. All mobs have PDRate, but not all mobs have PDDamage.

Touch damage is PADamage. Everything that begins with PD & MD is defensive.

So basically zak does 4x touch dmg O_o and 7x magic dmg....omg.....so zak will do 20k magic dmg if those numbers are on the multiple system..

Do you enjoy reading everything as if it's the worst possible outcome will always happen?

It's reasonable to assume that the touch damage formula changed when all of the numbers changed for all mobs.

Just preparing for the worst :D Cause they didn't give the hp boast for just lulz. I guess i can look at the positive side.

    Errrr...even Snails have 10% PDRate..
I find almost all of the non-boss monsters have 10% PDRate..but the bats only have 5%..
    mob 8120100~8120102 have 20% PDR..
Bosses have 25% PDR..I’ve not seen an exception.

Nexon fools us once more. They haven't changed the PAD of mobs' attack skill. Or they forgot that?

I'm trying to figure out the function how to convert the old PAD to new PAD.

It may seem odd, but is it possible that this new PDRate just tells you how much of your damage it will affect. For instance, on Zakum with 25%, it will normally only take a MAX of 25% damage off (1000 normal, 750 after), not counting level differences. Also, maybe def up now affects this PDRate, too.

  17. Default

PDRate is just simply how much percentage of damage is taken off. You'd be doing 75% of your expected damage by your damage range at zakum, for example, before defense. This works the same way that monsters' defense up buffs work now, reducing your damage by a percentage. Most defense up buffs from monsters have x=85 which means -15% damage.

That makes Combat Mastery and Marksmanship extremely powerful skills, assuming they break through PDRate that is.

I wouldn't say extremely powerful considering a MM would be doing the most damage through snipe, but yeah, it increases damage so woo hoo.
