Roles

You are Three-Finger Hobb, the main cook for the Night’s Watch. You can make some amazing stew, and once every odd-numbered night you may send me a PM containing [Give Stew to] Target to give them some stew. Your target will be so preoccupied with eating your delicious stew that they won’t do anything else for the rest of the night. If by some means you acquire an onion, you can make even more stew and give out stew every night. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are King Stannis “The Mannis” Baratheon, one of several kings fighting for the Iron Throne. You and your trusted Hand Ser Davos have just arrived from Eastwatch-by-the-Sea to save the Wall from the wildlings. If your Hand dies you will commit suicide out of grief but you can kill a person of your choosing upon your death. You may choose your target by sending me a PM containing [Revenge Kill] Target. This kill will happen next morning but will count as part of the previous day phase. You may NOT communicate with your Hand outside of the game thread. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are Lord Davos Seaworth, the Onion Knight, Lord of the Rainwood, and Hand to King Stannis. You have just arrived with your king from Eastwatch-by-the-Sea to save the Wall from the wildlings. You win when all of the “kneelers” are dead and you can pass safely beyond the Wall.

You are Mance Rayder, the King-Beyond-the-Wall. You are leading the free folk on an attack on the Wall because you know it’s their only hope of surviving through the winter before the Others arrive. You have great knowledge of the Night’s Watch having been a member before, and you will appear as a brother of the Night’s Watch when investigated. Additionally, you may assassinate one person each night by sending me a PM containing [Kill] Target. Should you die, one of your lieutenants will be able to perform the kill. You win when all of the “kneelers” are dead and you can pass safely beyond the Wall.

You are Donal Noye, the one-armed blacksmith of Castle Black. You forged a new suit of armour and you can give it to another player. The armour prevents them from being killed once. You only have one suit of armour, and you cannot give it to yourself. To give the suit of armour send me a PM at night containing [Armour] Target. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are a White Walker, sometimes called an Other. After 8000 years you are finally taking back the land that was yours before the First Men and the Children of the Forest fought you off and put up that pesky Wall. Your speed and ice sword give you an incredible advantage in battle, and you cannot be killed by normal means. You can survive one attempt on your life each phase before the humans learn of your weaknesses and begin using dragonglass weapons. If you are discovered by the servants of the Red God they will expose your weakness immediately and your protection will be lost. You can fight back though, and once a night you may send me a PM containing [Resurrect] Target to bring a dead player back to life as a wight. You may only resurrect the same person once. Every three wights you raise increases the weight of your vote by one and you start the game with two wights under your control. If your vote counts for more than half of the votes on the day’s lynch, that lynch victim is immediately brought back as a wight. Your vote cannot count for more than three, and you cannot have the majority vote by yourself. You win if you are alive when the number of wights is greater than the number of living humans left in the game.

You are Tormund Giantsbane, a chief of the free folk. You are loud and boisterous, but a fearsome fighter. You have many titles and stories to go with them, including Tall-talker, Horn-blower and Breaker of Ice, Husband to Bears, the Mead-king of Ruddy Hall, Speaker to Gods and Father of Hosts. Once in the game you may PM me with [Strong Kill] Target to kill someone regardless of any protection. This can be done in addition to the free folk’s normal kill. You win when all of the “kneelers” are dead and you can pass safely beyond the Wall.

You are Eddison “Dolorous Edd” Tollett, a brother of the Night’s Watch. You have no special abilities (other than being the snarkiest person this side of Moat Cailin) but you can still defend the Wall with your voice and your vote. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are Styr, the Magnar of Thenn. Your people consider you more of a god than a man, and you command absolute loyalty from them. Your technology and civilization is more advanced than the rest of the free folk, producing bronze weapons and armour rather than raiding for equipment, but there have been some strange rumours about the Thenns being cannibals? You have no idea where that started, because the only cannibals amongst the free folk are the Ice-River clans. You win when all of the “kneelers” are dead and you can pass safely beyond the Wall.

You are Samwell “The Slayer” Tarly, a brother of the Night’s. Your father hates you and you’re a self-proclaimed craven, but somehow you were the first person in thousands of years to have killed an Other. You don’t like fighting, but you’re clever and perceptive and each night you can send me a PM containing [Quiz] Target to see if they know the words of the Night’s Watch oath. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are Maester Aemon, the resident maester of Castle Black. You were once the heir to the throne but you took the black to let your brother Aegon rule instead. You learned a great many things forging your chain at the Citadel, but recently your knowledge of healing has been especially handy. At night you may send me a PM containing [Heal] Target to prevent your patient from dying that night, but due to your advanced age you can only heal people on odd-numbered nights. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are Clydas, a brother of the Night’s Watch. You are a steward who aids Maester Aemon and tends to the ravens. If Maester Aemon dies you will take over his duties attending to the wounded. In this event, you may send me a PM at night containing [Heal] Target and the target be protected from dying that night, though you can only do this for three nights due to limited supplies. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are Melisandre of Asshai, a priestess of R’hllor. You see visions in the flames shown to you by R’hllor, which you can use to help your king Stannis, Azor Ahai come again. Each night you may send me a PM containing [Pray for a glimpse of] Target to attempt to see that person in your fires. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

You are Grenn, a brother of the Night’s Watch. You have no special abilities but you can still defend the Wall with your voice and your vote. You win when all threats to the realm are eliminated.

Just a few thoughts, mafia was basically screwed once Kyra landed her kill. When MasPan died, he was out of armour, hit by a strong kill, AND investigated by meow (Melisandre) who would have removed all of his armour if he had any left by then. Tormund and Melisandre were basically their respective faction's ways of dealing with the White Walker. I balanced Shidoshi's odd night saves with a 3 shot backup doctor (nurse) and a one shot armoursmith (like a gunsmith but for bulletproofness). Turns out that never came into play because Shidoshi never died and VerrKol died before he gave his armour. Originally on the first night he was going to armour Polantaris but I reminded him that he can't move the armour around, so he retracted that action. IDK if that was influencing the game, but I don't really think so since (I rightly believed) he was making an uniformed decision. I'm sad that MasPan died, if he won I would have started the flavour post with three horn blasts and it would have been epic. Hmmm, what else? Oh yeah, Polantaris wouldn't have seen Melisandre, Stannis, or Davos as Night's Watch but I was considering allowing Melisandre to see the other two if Davos gave her an onion, but that never happened either. Then there would be like two complementary cops. Davos' ability was mainly for fun, but it also provides a mod-confirmable action since people are notified of them being onioned. Basically it's like a role-confirm, since nobody else gave information to who they targeted other than armour (even then I could have kept that quiet). Edit: with full info, back-up doctor was rather unnecessary imo. 3-shot meant almost for the whole game too, even if I died Night 1 he'd get Night 2-4 and would have been actually better than Aemon himself since he could Heal every night.

Yes. But y'know, hindsight is 20/20. I generally like the rule "the less information given the better." If Mas' role were any different, telling him that he was attacked would probably have been too much information as well imo.

But yeah I was 99% sure that we were completely pineappleed as soon as Kyra landed her kill. But I wanted to at least try and go out doing something insanely stupid and terrible.

I knew Niernen and Luv would both be pegged as super scummy from like the first 5 minutes of day 1 and I wanted to try and take some attention off of them without really telling them what to do, so I took a risk in drawing attention to myself early on, but as soon as they both died I was just like well pineapple

Yeah I told him as if he were a bulletproof, so he knows that his armour was used and he's now vulnerable. If it was a doctor save I wouldn't say anything.

Edit: Doctor is hard, Shidoshi. I think I've made like one or two saves of all the times I was doctor and it wasn't a follow the cop scenario.

To be honest, I wasn't completely against y0shi, although the raven call and such was suspicious, but I didn't say anything at all in relation to that because I didn't want to have to push myself into revealing who I was. I think that one of the biggest problems our investigators have on Southperry mafia games is revealing too early, and I wanted to make sure I didn't do that. So while y0shi was suspicious, I left it alone in hopes that everyone else would figure it out without me. I think that's what set off Shidoshi's vote against me in the next day, but there wasn't really much I could do about that besides play normally.

@LuvDWayULie; No hard feelings, right? I know I pushed on you a little hard, but I needed to make a strong case against you since everyone was so adverse to lynching you, and that whole spheal just seemed really scummy to me.

I think the game ended up great. MasPan was a great Neutral, and overall the powers didn't seem outlandish really. Props to you, Holypie.

Yeah I was talking with Shidoshi about this, the half true role claims aren't great, since mafia powers don't usually make sense in the context of a town role. That's why you and Salguod got lynched soon after your claims, while y0shi survived longer despite being 100% BS.

The "yoshi0 vs Mas" drama probably helped him too, though it shouldn't have. People essentially completely disregarded my arguments under the context of "don't trust the neutral" even after I was dead.

I never really stopped having suspicions of y0shi0, but on other days we had targets that were more surely mafia. With time his intentions became more clear by looking at his past votes and opinions in light of the roles and alignments flipped.

It doesn't help the day to have too many lynch options, it's better to focus on one at a time and leave your other suspicions to play care free so they can slip up some more.

I think it was more what Shidoshi said. I didn't ignore what you said, but the same night I got a mafia result on my investigation on Salguod so I didn't really have any reason to bring anything you said up, since y0shi wasn't a factor. Afterward, it didn't matter because y0shi was the only person left that could have been mafia with my correct assumption of no tailor.

I don't think Polantaris really needed much to convict Luv this game. The lack of mafia communication meant that there was less deliberation in mafia posts, which probably hurt Luv the most out of you guys. The unnatural push was already suss, but I guess it did save him from my revenge kill, since I played under the assumption that the mafia would be communicating nearly as often as the Pokemafia did. That meant that I assumed that Luv's posts would be "monitored" by the mafia, as we often checked each other's posts for inconsistencies. Or I did, anyway.

I really liked Shidoshi's aggressive play, also the first time I've seen him live past day 1 :T
