"Well, it's not like we've been able to catch any of the recent hackers. Might as well release all past offenders as well!"

At this point if they want to make "A Better Maple", they may as well just give this game to another company. That'd be a start.
Well it seems as if Nexon NA is stooping to the lows of Asiasoft with there customer support. From what I remember reading the comment section from GGftw about Asiasoft as a publisher there customer support is basically GM saying "no money no talk" which that makes me very unsettled by that similar ideology, That Nexon North America seems to be picking up. (Well I learn even more about nexon as whole! Also can anyone who plays MapleSEA clarify what I'm saying is true about Asiasoft? thank you!)
It's okay, they made me a golden snail and then banned me from buying nx via credit card.
Why? Because i went on vacation to a friend's house in a different state, their IP was already flagged as suspicious. Don't care why.
When i sent a ticket about it, "sorry, proprietary information, can't share."
Since then, had to purchase my NX through Steam.
Incidentally, it has actually enabled me to purchase more NX. The irony.
Just stupid and paranoid, i remember when my card was declined because i used to use it on multiple accounts, had that resolved through playspan, they told me to just stick with one account to stop it from being flagged.
I really wish Nexon would be more open about their billing issues, Playspan was rather quick about their issue. I sent a ticket to both nexon and playspan. Playspan responded in a few hours, nexon in a few weeks, with their response "sorry, can't do anything"
Then again, we're talking about Nexon. They're an ever-changing random variable from 0 to 10, where 0 is, 'IT'S ALL OVER, EVERYONE IS DEAD, ALL IS LOST,' and 10 is, 'Today's Log: It has been a good day. Only 100 people unfairly banned.
They are paranoid beyond anything I'd ever experienced.
I've bought quite a bit of stuff on the internet, from such varied places as the USA, Denmark, Thailand, Hong Kong; from big sites like Amazon and little home businesses; physical items like books and jewelry, as well as downloadable virtual goods. Nobody ever turned their nose up at my credit card or paypal. As soon as the payment was okayed by the credit card company, they sent me what I ordered (mostly actual physical items, that cost them money to acquire or create, and more money to ship).
Needless to say, they always got their money. I've never cheated anyone.
But Nexon... no. My IP is in a "high risk" country so they'd rather not do business with me. I might scam them out of their hard-earned bits!
I should try to get my dark kinght unbanned... During the chaos scroll fiasco a long time ago.. i couldn't log on when they gave that warning this was prior to me knowing what was going on.
I got my dark knight banned :l
Yeah, I mean... dropping your transaction limit (to one purchase per however long it takes for Paypal to guarantee it's not going to chargeback, or however long CCs take to clear) would be far preferable from the customer's point of view than being cut off entirely with nothing individually done wrong. Annoying, but livable. You might miss a few of their unannounced sales, but on the whole you could keep a steady flow of NX if you wanted to.
Absolutely pineappleing disgusting.
if you cant beat them join them![]()
From my understanding, if an IP is flagged as bad either from past fraudulent purchases, then any account that touches that IP address gets flagged, and then retroactively to yours.
/from experience.
I can't even create any more nexon accounts, or rather verify them, i have to ask someone else to do that.
Thanks Nexon! You ban me from making new nexon accounts, but don't ban the hackers from doing so.

Know what suddenly occurred to me?
Why does the form ask you if you've ever charged NX on the account? Why trust the user's word (or memory) when their own system knows all NX charges of every account ever?
I'm thinking maybe they're being double extra sneaky here. They want people to know (or believe) that charging NX gets you preferential treatment. They want us to charge NX on every account as a sort of "service contract" - but which of course doesn't obligate them to anything.
Well considering you also have to include the account ID, perhaps its a way to check if the person recovering the account is the person who owned it prior to being banned? That's the only 'positive' explanation I can offer but the cynical part of me feels like you hit the nail on the head with that observation.
Could be worse though, could be:
"Will you be charging NX on this account if you redeem it?"
