I could care less about the grind, that can be done with time. The only thing that can never be obtained again are the ranks. If Nexon simply erases that record and those people just get jumbled in the other ranks, that's what's going to piss people off.
I find it funny though that a large percent of the maple community uses those people as benchmarks for leveling speed + damage
Just because people can reach 200 in a day doesn't mean everyone can. It takes a lot of time, gear, connections, money, sometimes x3 cards to make that happen. The community needs to treat those people as the 1% not the norm

Exactly. I feel like these changes typically only address the issues in KMS and how the community looks at these players is actually less important than how Nexon KR sees them since gearing your patches towards those types exclusively is like throwing a level 30 Hyper Skill enhanced Middle Finger at the rest of your playerbase, some of whom might eventually be higher-paying customers if they didn't just ragequit.
Hahahahahah! Oh, wow! I knew this would happen eventually. Nexon finally decided to pull their trump card out. Why not up to level 255, since the game supports that? I'm sure they'll save the last 5 levels for something that costs NX or something. But, not like raising the level cap fixes how unbalanced the game already is.
Level 200+? Multiple characters? Skill resets?

Why does this even matter at all? The community knows who hacks to level even WAY back in the old days. 250 isn't going to provide the means to do things hackers couldn't have done at 200. Plus if you feel your accomplishment of 250 is sullied by hackers then you're just an idiot because it has nothing to do with you getting there fairly.
Not to mention kms doesn't have hacker issues...and botters are easy to catch when they have a 20b grind to do.
I am in no way downplaying the IMMENSE amount of time you put into this game back then to hit 200, but in the grand scheme of things, does that honestly even matter? Maplestory is probably the only actually hugely successful MMO to have the same level cap for as long as it has. Rankings for players who hit cap on every other MMO before a raise get pushed to the side all the time, yet I don't see people complain nearly as much (Or at all) about it. This isn't the same maplestory you played 4 years ago, not in the least. You have to acknowledge and accept that. And that includes the possibility of being knocked out of your spot in the rankings.
On the power creep thing, I was moreso referring to 5th jobs filling in the massive hole Nexon made when they buffed the flying pineapple out of bosses in unlimited but did little to nothing in regards to character damage output. It didn't even make sense. 5th jobs should fix that, so that the average player doesn't need to spend a minimum of 2 grand just to have a chance in a GROUP SETTING of downing a single pineappleing boss.
@above: Yeah i totally agree with you. They should make it easier for these bosses with godly drop tables soloable by everyone with a high level character and a "decent" range again so they can become worthless and bosses won't be challenging. Screw giving groups a challenge and hackers a harder time at bosses, things literally everyone wanted for years.

I would enjoy this update if it wasn't for the fact that bosses suck for experience now.
Oh well, just icing on the quitting cake.
Because the way it is now even makes sense, right? Expeds are gone. You can only have 6 people in a boss run, and 99% of people out there still won't be able to beat these bosses with 6 man groups of 200s. I want difficulty, yes, but forcing someone to spend several grand to even have a chance is just retarded. I don't want soloable bosses either, but the way it is now doesn't even make sense.
