The theory on how probabilities are influenced in this game through seeds generated by the server per channel that influence outcomes (mostly for cubing purposes), which i suppose isn't really disproven by these new mechanics because it could be as easy as exceptions they built.
Well it's not like the seed is "rare rare rare rare rare epic rare rare rare rare rare rare", it's a series of numbers, this just changes which numbers mean epic.
Has anyone gotten the other merchant to appear? Fedric le Blanc.
I’ve seen him a couple of times he was selling the 20% boss damage potion. I couldn’t buy it because someone else must have got their first.
I've seen him 4 or 5 times now. It seems as though my party didn't notice the NPC appear, but I've managed to get a Trait Potions that add +30 to a trait and I got a White Star Potion (Epic Chance). Managed to sell it in the FM for about 500m. Not sure exactly if it means higher chance of Epic upon Reveal, or items obtained in Root Abyss have a higher chance of obtaining Epic potential.
What good is that potion...? I mean all the hats I've received from bosses have come Epic tier from the first reveal..? Do they drop anything else besides their hats?
Now introducing chairs with potential! No but really they also drop their own certain chairs and I believe that's it?
Max just wrote an entry in his blog about kMS getting Root Abyss and if you scroll down you can see what they look like.

Spoiler
Either do away with durability or make it so different skills cause it to degrade at different rates. Classes like Paladins and Buccaneers can use durability items for hours without repairing them, while Bowmasters and other hurricane classes can only use durability items for about 10 minutes.
All they'd have to do is make the skills' delays determine how fast an item's durability goes down with each use.
