I thought this was going to be a thread about people who take up three spots in FM 1-6 by setting up on that step.
This has happened in the past, nothing new.
pretty obvious it was an exploit to make it seem like he isnt near the door when infact he is
Yeah, this is very old.
Oh, I've never seen it before. Anyone care to explain what the heck is going on?![]()
I'm not sure if explaining how it's done is against the rules. However, it's really old. It's a form of packet editing.
If fly hack still works, I think one could fly hack after setting up shop?
I don't get what's wrong in the second ss...
So, is this the first time you've ever browsed the FM before?
Just messing, but seriously, this has been around forever. It comes and goes, though, so it's possible for you to have missed it, even during the times where it was running rampant for days on end (and I suppose it would be different for each server [and you might not have even been playing during its run]). Earliest SS I have is from 9-14-2011, though I recall seeing this phenomenon before that:
You can even see the empty spot to the far left. I don't know how the hack works, but I do know it involves fooling the game into thinking the spot--which was filled by a now-DC'd occupant--is still there, but the actual character placement is wherever the hacker wants within that FM (and it used to span multiple FMs). Thus, you can't establish a store in that spot since the game still treats it as occupied.
Not gonna go into detail but you can think of it as basically messing with values in a packet editor to do this. The actual method is pretty tedious (judging by the steps, it sounded like you have to have quick fingers?).
Like a lot of others have said, this is really old. Like, at least a year old lol.

inb4 2-3+ shops start stacking on each other just like years back.
Ah, that explains it then :P And, like I said, there are plenty of factors that would coincide with you never having seen/heard of it before. But, now you know!
That was actually pretty humorous, but I wouldn't place my enjoyment over others' FM spots.
I remember doing this in a private server (set up a shop on the top and jump down really fast when you open the shop), but then again, its a private server. Not too sure how it's done on the official server.
