I'm not exactly sure what's so special here.
I've been doing this for years. For the past 2-3 it's been a wireless Xbox 360 controller, and before that it was some random other controllers I had. I can't play MS on the keyboard at all, honestly.
That looks like a horrible key layout, but I've been using a controller since like.. 2007 or so. Wired PS2 controller. It's much more comfortable than using the keyboard imo.
Using analog stick to move whyyyyy?
Analog is easy to turn with flash jump.
Dpad is slow as hell so I just put skills on it(extra 4buttons)
If you wanna turn in the air anolog is faster.
Also I got some other attack skills which are better of on the dpad since the buttons are taken by my main skills.
No I have not. But there's no way analog stick is faster at turning left and right than d-pad. There's only two directions to face in MS and having different degrees of left and right a la analog stick doesn't help except slowing down your turning speed.
Just try turning left and right and repeat as fast as you can. You can do this the fastest with keyboard since you'd have one finger each on left and right. Then d-pad. Then analog stick would come in a very slow third.
But just watch the video and the flash jump.
I have tried the dpad and I know it not that good.(Xbox controller Dpad is bad)
Also you cant spam alt on keyboard faster than the controller with the xpader program.
I only set up down left right on the settings in xpadder so there isn't any different degrees in right or left with the analog.
Need to try this. I've used the keyboard all my life.
Did this on my Playstation 1 and 2 Controller. Now I'm playing this on my Wii Classic Controller Pro.
XPadder > In Game Button Layouts.
......
This is hardly anything groundbreaking. This is on par with "I went to El Nath today" in terms of how interesting it is. MS actually ALLOWS usage of gamepads ingame now. Prior to Nexon actually supplying a gui and key remapping, I used PS2 controllers and Joy2Key back in 2006 to accomplish this feat.
I'm not trying to bring you down or anything, I'm just asking... why?
LF> Point of video.
I tried gamepad on Maple before, hated it. Keyboard for life, son.
I tried a game pad once, but it didn't really work well on an Aran like I thought it would.
I haven't tried it with other characters o.o, i should.
I use multiple mappings which can be accessed while holding down either one of the triggers. Usually, the left trigger gives me access to menus and non-attack skills while the right one hands out the extra attack skills mapping.
I move with the D-Pad (even though it sucks ass) and use the analog to move the mouse pointer.
If anyone would like me to, I can post my config so we can exchange some ideas, maybe
@Razmos: works wonderfully on Aran. You can even program a single key to spam FT or the Rush skill. Holding down a single button and keeping mobs pinned with RS is also pretty good.
You can set the buttons on turbo so it spams ctrl for Arans so you can hold down a button instead of button smashing (less effort)
If you think about it there ain't much point in maple vids that people post too apart from guides.
Just a video :)
