We're possibly understated in those reports too, since we're the only site listed as having a smaller than normal sample size.

January's tapered back down. December is abnormally high due to holidays and people having more free time.

MapleTip is a Wiki database. Not an actual website and/or forum. Their information might not be totally up to date but they have a lot of information to draw from much like BasilMarket does... that explains the traffic. Basil... well do the math (no pun intended).
All of them have forums and are topical to Global MapleStory.
Mapletip = dead, outdated, boring to me now.
Southperry = feels smaller yet smarter and alive, always up to date, chinchillas and opossums.
