"Official" video of anonymous calling for protest against the Sopa and the close of Megaupload.
Couldn't help noticing this detail earlier:
Apparently the founder Kim Dotcomm is half German-half Finnish and also has the citizenship of Finland.
L> Appeal from Finla...Ohh yahh forgot, Finland is probably preparing their own SOPA already, they already forced a server provider to block access to pirate bay.
Stupid pineapples
EDIT:
Also, Damn that house is nice, it would a shame if anything happened to it SSSSSSSS.
FileSonic and FileServe have both disabled their file sharing capabilities, and Uploaded.to has shut off service to the USA.
These were done on their own accord, preventative measures, but it'll do nothing but destroy their sites really. We should see what/if Mediafire and Rapidshare do pretty soon.
Wow. I only thought upload sites were going to become more aggressive hunting down copyright content, but seeing those two disable their file sharing services altogether? Kinda unexpected.
Nope. The problem here is that RIAA and MPAA don't want to police the internet for their own content. They want OTHER people (ISPs, Government) to police their content for them so they're not burdened with the cost. What you're now seeing is the result.
Believe it or not, the MPAA and RIAA don't like the DMCA anymore. They feel it's too burdensome on copyright holders.

And another nice quote that's actually quite fitting after all of this:"UMG knows that we are going to compete with them via our own music venture called Megabox.com, a site that will soon allow artists to sell their creations directly to consumers while allowing artists to keep 90 percent of earnings,"
"These guys think an iPad is a facial treatment, the internet is the devil, and wired phones are still hip," Schmitz blasted. "They are in denial about the new realities and opportunities. They don't understand that the rip-off days are over. Artists are more educated than ever about how they are getting ripped off and how the big labels only look after themselves."
