Couldn't help noticing this detail earlier:

Apparently the founder Kim Dotcomm is half German-half Finnish and also has the citizenship of Finland.

L> Appeal from Finla...Ohh yahh forgot, Finland is probably preparing their own SOPA already, they already forced a server provider to block access to pirate bay.

    Stupid pineapples

    EDIT:

Also, Damn that house is nice, it would a shame if anything happened to it SSSSSSSS.

FileSonic and FileServe have both disabled their file sharing capabilities, and Uploaded.to has shut off service to the USA.

These were done on their own accord, preventative measures, but it'll do nothing but destroy their sites really. We should see what/if Mediafire and Rapidshare do pretty soon.

Wow. I only thought upload sites were going to become more aggressive hunting down copyright content, but seeing those two disable their file sharing services altogether? Kinda unexpected.

  5. Default Re: Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds

Nope. The problem here is that RIAA and MPAA don't want to police the internet for their own content. They want OTHER people (ISPs, Government) to police their content for them so they're not burdened with the cost. What you're now seeing is the result.

Believe it or not, the MPAA and RIAA don't like the DMCA anymore. They feel it's too burdensome on copyright holders.

But that's what's funny: they have. And Megaupload did its part in regulating user content posted on the site and were even planning on launching a digital download service I believe (one where music artists would actually receive a large portion of the profits).

Keyword: Artist. Leaving the publishers out of the deal i presume? *Conspiracykeanu.jpg*

  8. Default Re: Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds

I think that was just wrongly worded. If the artist was going to get money, the music company would too. Actually I think the music company would get the money first, then give it to the artists.

Not as planned. I was expecting them to be stupid about it and eventually have to support us, but if they are blocking the US completely they are leaving us hanging out to dry. Where the hell am I going to get my HGames now. I NEED MY HGAMES YOU BASTARDS.

  17. Default Re: Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds

Maybe they want you guys to do something stupid for them.
Also you can jut drive to Mexico or Canada, download and drive back home. :D
Or mail a flash drive (or other storage) to a friend outside of the US and get them to download the stuff for you and mail it back.
