Yea, that's probably the reason. I'm on C2D and I get one performance warning on Chromium 7. This is why when testing browsers all tests must be done on the same system.

Used a crap computer, passed the test on Chrome and Safari. Firefox got 94 and IE8 got a FAIL. I'm guessing the threshold of getting a 100 on Chrome is "Can run Chrome 6"

I get 95 on HTML5 test with IE9, and 139 with FF 3.6.10. I don't have Chrome. Do you think it'd give me a higher score on HTML5 with Chrome? Acid3 tests were both around 95.

Fun fact: IE5 can't even run ACID2 or ACID3 because it has no JavaScript, and fails ACID1 because of the infamous box model bug.

Chromium 7 gets 241(+8) on HTML5, perfect on ACID3 and CSS Selectors, and about 450ms on sunspider (on my system).

Their fancy flower site renders better in Chrome than IE, and better in IE than FF. Chrome is the only one that renders music, and FF won't even have the dinging noise.

I really like IE's idea of pinning web pages to the Windows 7 task bar. If it were more versatile, I'd consider using it.

Firefox: No audio, otherwise works.
IE9: Audio, runs smoothly, very nice
Chrome: Audio, runs at a very choppy frame rate. Cannot turn pages
Opera: No Audio, lags a bit but then runs smoothly

I just played around with that flower page on Chrome 6 and the browser crashed. I can't remember the last time that's happened.

You know, benchmarks don't matter for the end-user, the only good way to rate a browser is by actually using it. So far, I love IE9, though I miss adblock, but I can live with that. The Onebox is something they got from Chrome, which I really appreciate since that was one of my favourite features of Chrome.

I can't speak for the Hardware acceleration part, since my computer apparently does not support this feature.

IE9 isn't available for XP. lol. I don't expect MS to keep catering to a 9000 year old OS but that pretty much left behind all the companies, college campuses and military folks who are on XP on the company computers. Chrome is slowly starting to appear in the computers of some labs on my campus but I guess I won't be expecting IE9 on them.
