Im sticking with Chrome. I have a severe distaste for Internet Explorer.

Nah, I just prefer programs that arent made by Microsoft. Internet Explorer, Microsoft Security Essentials, MSN, even the OS pisses me off from time to time... but its the only one I can use without circumventing things. I hate Mac but I could probably live with a copy of Ubuntu if the choice was given..

Werent you the one that posted about the Windows Live Beta 2? I used that pomegranate and my account became glitched. I could see people that were online, but if someone messaged me I could not recieve the message. I tried to use it on Xfire, eBuddy, an android MSN client, and the current version of MSN. None of them resulted with a fixed account. I was forced to make a completely new MSN account to continue using MSN.

The only downside of the IE9, is the small address bar.

You do know that you can extend/shorten the address bar, right?

I wish they'd fix the whole unable to encode text by highlighting and pressing the button thing.

Oh, I just thought of something. I'm off to check whether the WYSIWYG text entry method still works properly...

I haven't tried it out yet, since I don't have access to either Vista or Win7 at the moment, but it seems from reviews and comments that most of the improvements are simply copies of existing features of Firefox and Chrome. And while that's a good thing, since they're good browsers, it doesn't put me in a big hurry to switch.

Still a Chrome fan (not that it isn't subject to change, since I used to use Firefox less than a year ago).

I changed browser cause back in time IE stopped working. Mehh, I'm sticking to FF, it's just a matter of time when these things come to chrome and FF.

I'll stick with firefox.
Although this looks good, remember- Microsoft finds a way to screw up everything.

My system:
Core 2 Duo E6300 (1.86GHz)
4GB 400MHz (PC-6400) DDR2 RAM
GeForce 7300LE
Windows 7 32-Bit
Both Minefield and IE are running in safe mode (no addons).

Results:
Compatibility - Both with perfect score at CSS selector test, both pass ACID2 (I remember IE7 or 8 didn't even render that face well), ACID3 results: 97\100 for Minefield and 95\100 for IE. Minefield leading by far with HTML5 compatibility (217 vs. 96).

Performance - slightly less performance warnings in ACID3 when running it in Minefield. SunSpider's tests yield almost precisely the same results (the small difference could be caused by random activity of background processes), approx. 616ms.

Memory usage -

(plugin-container.exe belongs to Minefield)
Both browsers had 3 tabs open - Nexon.com, Nexon.net and Southperry.net. IE leading here with a noticeable but not huge difference (IE: 95MB, Minefield: 117MB)

On overall, not bad, but it is still far from rivaling with Chrome. Hell, it barely even beats Minefield, and performance-wise Chrome should be almost twice as efficient.

P.S. I didn't use any of Microsoft's own speed and compatibility tests on purpose, knowing that they were selected and optimized in order for IE to win (if IE didn't win, they wouldn't have posted the tests on their site in the first place).

I get 231(+12) points on the HTML5 test on Chromium 7 (dev version, not that I'm really a dev).

Post\take a picture of the internals window. I doubt this is a perfect 100, Chrome 6 dev had 2 performance warnings when I tried it ~2 months ago. No need to do the other tests because we know roughly what their results will be (perfect on CSS selectors and less than 300ms on SunSpider)

Also, I just measured warm-booting times (into about:blank) with a script I created especially for that. IE9 is more than twice faster than Minefield here - 0.3 vs. 0.7 seconds (on average).

Hover somewhere above the purple rectangle and your mouse will turn into a question mark, click there and it will open a window.

Also, that FAIL is a part of one of the tests, there's also a "YOU SHOULD NOT SEE THIS AT ALL" somewhere.

Is there a way I can have a home button? It's like... gone or randomly disappears. I like going back to my homepage so I can easily go to all of my favorite sites.

Also, I do not like MSIE's "New Tab" Chrome Clone. There's no way to configure it for myself.

What? the home button is right next to the tabs. And what do you mean "New Tab"? The button? It has been like this since IE got tabs. What I don't like is how the tabs are on the same row with the address bar.

I got 4 performance warnings on Acid3 (though this is on a 6 year old CPU, which also gave me over 2000ms on the SunSpider test which I didn't feel was worth posting earlier) and the rectangles were 1 pixel higher than in the reference rendering. Chromium 7, again.

Edit: Refreshed it several times. Test 26 and 65 consistently give me performance warnings. No clue where the other two went.
