Is anyone excited about the Football World Cup?
#81
Woo, The Netherlands are the first team to be ensured of a 8th final position.
 Explaination

Well, the match was boring. Just like against Denmark.
But I've also noticed that Denmark and Japan both used some kind of walling strategy, staying at their own half with like 8 man. So there wasn't really anything they could do about it.

Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid referee in favor of Italy... pisses me off!

I hope New Zealand can pull of the win! They were shattering Italy, until the referee started becoming in their favor...

Ok, 2 days round up:

The Netherlands - Japan: 1-0
-> Stupid Japanese boring defending play... The Japanese keeper got pwned by a Rasen Shuriken by Sneijder though... lolz... :')
---> The Netherlands is the first team who qualifies for the 1/8th Finals!
Ghana - Australia: 1-1
-> Haha, Germans pomegranateting in their pants now, Germany can still be eliminated now if they don't win their next match! ROFL! :+)
Cameroon - Denmark: 1-2
-> Hmmm, suddenly Denmark can play other football then pure lame defending??... If only they had that mentality all the time... Ah well, Cameroon got eliminated...

Slovakia - Paraguay: 0-2
-> Ok, Paraguay will not be the next opponent of The Netherlands, so now they have a chance to get further in the World Cup! Added them to the favorites now! :+)
Italy - New-Zealand: 1-1
-> lolololItaly... got pwned much? GOOOO GOOOO New-Zealand though! Excellent play! Tongue
Brazil - Ivory Coast: 3-1
-> Brazil has fantastic Handegg players! The only question is, what are they doing on the World Cup FOOTBALL?
-> Also, fail referee... he saw the double hands goal and laughed about it with the Brazilian stiker... really... wtp?
-> Afterwards he "corrected" himself with a red card for Kaka... lolz... epic...
-> Removed Ivory Coast from the favorites list...

Ok predictions for tomorrow:

Why not?

E.G.:
- USA/South-Korea/Australia/(most)South-American & African countries always play to win, even when they know they don't always have the best team in the world. That's why they're respected by a lot of fans, also from other countries.
- Denmark/Japan only played to get a lousy 0-0 draw and that's VERY boring to watch, especially at the World Cup, where every country should play to WIN...

+1.

I feel that as a mod I shouldn't make noncontributory posts outside of the Funhouse, so I will justify this post by answering the title question: I'm not particularly excited about the World Cup, but I'm even less interested in other sports. At least soccer (football, whatever) makes sense.

Actually that's the job of the Germans. Would be fun to see those clashing next match. =p (If Germany would get second in their poule, it could happen.)

Very nice game. I actually stood up and cheered when he scored. They keep getting bad calls though. I hope that doesn't become standard.
