Is anyone excited about the Football World Cup?

& @Dusk: XD. My Dad's been a season ticketholder for the Bears for 25ish+ years. I grew up going to games 9 rows behind the north end zone, watching the Superbowl every year, etc., but still....15 minutes of total play time does not compete with non-stop, fast-paced, action-packed soccer (and hockey, to be honest. Both are great).

Oh, I thought you were being one of those elitists. Still, football is broken into plays. If they were constantly running and throwing, it ... wouldn't be football. It's interesting to see different plays being made and every player on the field being involved in every one of them.

Same thing that happens in Argentina and Chile during World Cup games happens here in Mexico. Tomorrow Mexico plays it's final exhibition game... against Italy...

And the World Cup opener is Mexico vs. South Africa. Almost a week to go, come on, Mexico!

Watching how every single house in the whole freaking country is decorated with stupid orange decorations, and then having people wear stupid orange decorations too, and having the whole place freak out whenever something happens on the TV? It's going to be fun for sure! Well, for the people with the stupid decorations at least. I don't get what's so great about watching football that if the team wins every single person thinks the country has won and that they all have bragging rights and such. Same deal with every other big event, the whole place just turns into one big orange mess that's not able to make any sense at all. Disgusting(I don't have anything against the color orange though).

You're right, but I don't like the way they're supporting. A lot of the supporters just act like idiots and it doesn't seem like they care about the people that aren't interested in football. Every freaking supermarket has some weird franchise now too. It used to be fun and everything but you've got supporting and you've got madness.

Reading this thread has changed my mind about things a little, but I'm still annoyed if I'm watching a movie/reading a book and I suddenly hear "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" coming from all sides.
