[July 30 / Server Check] MapleStory

Maybe, I'm misenterpreting this,but to me it looks like the server check ends at 1:00 AM(I would capitalize AM but it already is)tomorrow. that would still leave us time for a large patch. (pirates, anyone?)

i wouldn't think so, but you can never rule out anything with nexon, they may not always succeed but darn if they dont like trying to surprise us.

revansithasasin, you can rule out things with Nexon.
For exmaple, we can rule out the Masteria Expansion going by without bugs or extensions.

Well, they did say during the e3 conference they would release it in early August...

Not saying I thought it would be today too.

They also said in internal documentation that it would be a July release.

They also only included enough cs items to release up until this week, meaning that there won't be anything for them to put out this week without a patch.

The event also ends at this point, so regardless of what happens, it does appear as though it was at least previously PLANNED to be happening today/tomorrow. I think the fact that their PLAN would be is relevant enough to not automatically jump the gun and assume "ok, now it's gonna be next week".

Finally notice that although it would be a trifle unusual, they could still patch again in the next coming days. Also notice that this Friday is actually the first of August, and if they were to patch then, it would fit the criteria of basically everyone's expectations on the timing rather well, even the people going "OMG IN E3 ANNOUNCEMENT THEY SAID EARLY AUGUST NOT LATE JULY". Not like there has never been a Friday patch before.

I'm just saying, when you see this notice for a server check, don't automatically go "omg now we have to wait ANOTHER WEEEEEK". Play it by ear and you might be pleasantly surprised. And if not, no big deal... I don't know about you guys, but a week without overhyped anticipation goes by a lot faster than constantly counting down to a patch date that hasn't even been officially announced.

Whatever it is just probably a server check, if it isn't ... I'd be really surprised.

I have mixed feelings on this: Part of me wants Crimsonwood tonight (Im moving my char to NLC in preparation and even if it doesnt come, I'll go Headless Horseman or something) but at the same time, part of me wants to be realistic and expect it next week.

Has anyone considered the possibility that it be delayed past even next week's scheded S/C time? 4th Job was delayed a week and a half IIRC

They didn't announce a release date for 4th job. All they said was "January", and they definitely delivered.

Showa was delayed though. It was originally supposed to come out on Showa Day (which, ironically, has nothing to do with Showa Town).

Last week it said patch too, they've just been copying the same (incorrect) server check/patch notice all month. X_X

By the time you won they were already aware of what was going on, I think. After all the person who went on the FTP won the commercial contest from November. They aren't going to make that mistake again.

I have been camping out in NLC all week. XD I hunt lilies and wolf spiders and go check for HH once in a while.

I honestly don't want to wait another week, but I'm not going to hope for the patch tonight, knowing it won't come.

even though its not likely it could still happen tonight, and like afrobean said its really possible any day this week and it could still fit the description. either way, this week or next, its coming, its coming soon, both the leaked info and the article confirm this, all we have to do is wait for a bit. i for one can wait if it means less problems with the place overall, since they end up taking the game down longer than the extended patches do anyway with all the unscheduled server checks and whatnot.

I hope this isn't some sort of ploy to build up the hype for CK. It seems farther and farther away as the weeks go by, though I still feel the excitement for it.

its incredibly likely that i'm wrong, but couldnt patch check mean that they are fixing bugs that require client side data changes? so probly not but maybe like a bug fixing mini-patch? (so incredibly unlikely its not funny)
