I'm a very changed and much older man but this does feel like the closest to the fountain of youth to me.

10,000 years have passed and I am awoken from my slumber, the foretold return of Classic Maplestory is now upon us.

I’m not sure if I am strong enough to endure old school MS grind like I used to, but I can sure try. I hope everyone has been doing well. It’s really nice to see there are still a few people around who also felt a similar sentiment about the announcement.

I'm actually surprised it took this long for nexon to resort to legacy servers. Though it has to a sign of them being desperate. They used to be firmly against this iirc

I wonder how much QoL they'll port over to Classic. Might be the nostalgia speaking alongside the rose tinted glasses but it was definitely a challenge going through the old system.

Gravity has recently released a new official LATAM server and I've been playing that nonstop ever since.. I guess the only thing that could easily pull me out of that downward spiral would be another (way worse) downward spiral. Ughhhhh

As someone who's continued playing MapleStory all along, I don't see myself going back to moving at a snail's pace (and being knocked back by snails, at that!), or having to kill enemies one by one (and multiple attacks for each, too). Or paying a year's meso income for a mastery book that can fail.

But good luck to all returnees.

Any <2008 old school players here? we got ppl2pass.

My hope is that this version maintains a consistent enough playerbase that it's enjoyable to just hop on every now and then without having to grind to feel like you're in the loop. Having dabbled in Other Forms of the Game, I find that there's such a massive skew towards endgame that there ends up not being much to do in the early levels, and nobody's really around to do stuff with.

I'd bet half of you guys replying here, myself included, have way more important priorities in your life than playing mushroom game. For me personally, I'd love to hop on at launch and do all the stuff I used to do in 2005, but I know I can't dedicate half my life to this game. I know I'm going to be level 30-40 for like... months. It would be great if I could spend a weekend grinding, disappear for weeks at a time, then log in again and know that at least some of the people on my buddy list are still going to be playing lol.
