Parental Control System

I saw the JMS just add the Parental Control System... My question is what is this?

well, logically, its a kids game, so now those "Youve played maple for X hours, you should take a break" messages may be a more forceful suggestion if the parent so chooses to make it that way (AKA time restriction tool)

The time restriction tool is what I'm thinking it is as well.
It seems like a good idea, to me.
That way, those of us who are adults can play all we want...LOL
Maybe the parents can set a time window that the child can play during. That'll help if both parents work and they don't want the kid playing until after they are home....

yeah, in some versions if you stay on longer than the recommended time per day, your experience rate begins to decrease ( IE, instead of a monster giving 200 EXP, it gives 150, then 50, then 10, then none. By the way, just an example, I don't know exact rates) until it hits zero experience.

no, really. when you register to kms you have to give your address and two valid phones. what the hell do they need that info for? calling your parents if you get lost? and now this parental control shyt. maple story is a kids game anyway, what exactly do they want to control? if the parents dont want their kids to play maplestory, disconnect the power cable. period.

That falls somewhere along the lines of a deterrent or motivator. Which is interesting. WoW I believe grants you 2x exp if you log off at an inn or something for an extended period of time. So if you're off for a week, you get 2x for a week. I dunno, something like that.

I didn't know you could get KSSN's on Google in less than 30 seconds, as well as the matching address and phone number. The Internet is amazing!

I wonder how many parents would actually take advantage of this, honestly most dont even monitor what their kids do on the computer, much less look at the features of one specific game their kids play.

Do the parents have to have an account too or is it run through the kid's account, if its run through the kids it'd be all to easy for the kid to just refuse the parent acess through their account, or pose as a parent in a ticket to Nexon.

And like the guy said above me, Parents wouldn't even know if the game had a Parental Control feature, unless they are overprotective or something. And I really doubt any kids would tell their parents.

The Family is something InGame, while the Parental Control being via Nexon.com(I think).

No, you couldn't sadly, China keeps a log of how long you've been on and by the China SSN as well I believe.

However alot of people in China just buy 2x EXP cards or fake an adult SSN to play for long hours

Until we need to enter in a SSN we have nothing to worry about.
