Have you guys ever heard of the monkeysphere? It's essentially the measure of people within your life that has significance to you, such as your dog dieing having more of impact than Michael Jackson on you. Osama wasn't seen as a person in a lot of peoples brain because he isolated himself, and when he came out it was to kill people outside of his monkeysphere. In fact I would argue America looked more foolish that some guy that lived in the mountains could hide under our advanced technology.
