Eh, while you won't get into any legal trouble you can always get in trouble in other ways. It depends on how fussy your teachers are. I'd imagine more teachers nowadays are more tight-assed about this kinda thing now due to school shootings and stuff. If a teacher doesn't report something fishy, they end up being put under the spotlight when something does happen and start getting asked why they never reported earlier signs when it could have been prevented.
When I was in my senior year of high school, I ended up having to get a parent to come to school just for doodling on a page. The doodle included a bomb, along with a poorly drawn dude stabbing someone else in the face and flowers shooting out instead of blood. It was nothing more than a doodle, but apparently stuff like that has to be reported. Then again, I apparently had a reputation amongst the teachers as that quiet creepy type, from what I've overheard in the staff room before when walking by.
Meh, in any case you won't get in serious trouble. My mother didn't care, but they she was pissed off that she was forced to take a day off work to be called in for such a moronic reason. Not sure how your parents would react to something like that though. Again, it all depends on your teacher. My teacher that took my page was the type of person who took offense to anything and absolutely hated anyone expressing an opinion that was even slightly immoral.
Man I'm glad I'm done with school.
Lucky you. I had an English teacher who would write "NOT APPROPRIATE FOR SCHOOL" on my paper, and I certainly never wrote anything too explicit. If anything, it'd have dark undertones and hardly any violence at all, but it seemed my teacher just never liked reading anything like that. I'm talking about writing such as my 2nd blog entry, she would write a comment saying it was too dark or negative or something. There's nothing wrong with it, but she wouldn't like the eerie feel of it, because apparently you're not supposed to be thinking eerie thoughts if you're a kid!!! Pure and innocent is the way to go, you're not corrupt until you're 21! ^_______^
By the way, she only assigned us sunshine lolipop and rainbow books with impossibly happy endings. The "darkest" a story ever got would be a part where a character is getting beat up or kidnapped or some crap. I never read any of the assigned books in high school.
It helps that all the information about the book you need to know is discussed in class anyway. Just freaking listen and you pass the test. Waste of time.
