You are not entitled by freedom of speech to make a total ass of yourself. Freedom of speech applies on public government property, such as streets and public forums. You have rights in school to some point, but schools can and have punished students for things that would be protected by freedom of speech outside of school. For example, if a guy shows up to class wearing panties, the school can send him home but on public streets that is allowed. Praising 9/11 and such is also allowed under freedom of speech, but your school would probably suspend you for it.
In this case, I think the teacher will view the assignment in very poor taste and give you a bad grade for it. I don't think you'll be disciplined by the school because you didn't really cause a scene with the assignemnt. However, if any of you walk into school expecting "rights," you really need to get over it. If school was like a public forum, there would be no teaching or learning, just a collosal moron-a-thon. School is not about rights, it's about education.

Which we really don't have much of in America at this point. lol The American Educational System has become more about restricting kids to a legal point as far as they can. Our educational system is beyond screwed up and failure rates have been upped a lot in the past decade due to teachers and faculty only caring about the punishing of students rather than the students getting a really good quality of education. There may be some schools out there that actually give good education (probably only private schools), but for the most part, school is about restricting kids' abilities and mental maturity. This paper that this kid is sending in to his class PROBABLY won't put him in a bad spot, but if the teacher is a bad one, they might try pulling something stupid.

I like how you parade the teachers throughout the country as failures because they dont care, but here you have an obviously thoughtless and inappropriate composition and the teacher will only "pull something" if they are a "bad teacher."

The teachers have the ability to better increase their curriculum and teach their students in a more efficient way, but they don't. "Bad teachers" are the ones that make habbits of sending their students to the principal for something stupid. For instance, in my senior year, I had a student sitting next to me that had a shirt that wasn't even inappropriate, but the teacher insisted on sending him to the principal. The student went, the principal laugh and sent the student back, and the teacher raged at the principal for ignoring the situation. That's what I mean by, "bad teacher." Only the ignorant ones that TRY getting their students into trouble will do that sort of thing.

That doesnt happen only in the US, it happens here and I bet it must happen everywhere else.
Atleast in most schools.
Anyway, that shouldnt really be a problem if the work is good, I mean if its only sexual and violent words without any real content it might get you in trouble.

I think a teacher said to our class once that our rights are suspended when we are at school. Don't make a fuss about it and maybe the teacher won't notice? I've writing stuff with sexual content before. :p mildly

Oh jeez you'll be fine! I've been writing stories with dark themes and even graphic violence since early high school. I just had a character stomp a puppy to death in my final story for a writing class in college. Sure some people were probably all googly-eyed and thought, "oh, he's THAT kid," but I've never been in any trouble. Anyone who actually knows me knows I'm like a pacifist and can't even kill anything that isn't an insect. lol
Just keep your writing "tasteful" and don't go overboard on the detail. Nothing wrong with including rape in your story, but it might be pushing it if you describe the rape in great detail. Know what I mean? Regardless, don't be a platypus and censor yourself. Screw censorship. Don't do your story an injustice.

Either way, if you go to private school you are screwed. Public school, I doubt they will care.

Eh, while you won't get into any legal trouble you can always get in trouble in other ways. It depends on how fussy your teachers are. I'd imagine more teachers nowadays are more tight-assed about this kinda thing now due to school shootings and stuff. If a teacher doesn't report something fishy, they end up being put under the spotlight when something does happen and start getting asked why they never reported earlier signs when it could have been prevented.
When I was in my senior year of high school, I ended up having to get a parent to come to school just for doodling on a page. The doodle included a bomb, along with a poorly drawn dude stabbing someone else in the face and flowers shooting out instead of blood. It was nothing more than a doodle, but apparently stuff like that has to be reported. Then again, I apparently had a reputation amongst the teachers as that quiet creepy type, from what I've overheard in the staff room before when walking by.
Meh, in any case you won't get in serious trouble. My mother didn't care, but they she was pissed off that she was forced to take a day off work to be called in for such a moronic reason. Not sure how your parents would react to something like that though. Again, it all depends on your teacher. My teacher that took my page was the type of person who took offense to anything and absolutely hated anyone expressing an opinion that was even slightly immoral.
Man I'm glad I'm done with school.

Lucky you. I had an English teacher who would write "NOT APPROPRIATE FOR SCHOOL" on my paper, and I certainly never wrote anything too explicit. If anything, it'd have dark undertones and hardly any violence at all, but it seemed my teacher just never liked reading anything like that. I'm talking about writing such as my 2nd blog entry, she would write a comment saying it was too dark or negative or something. There's nothing wrong with it, but she wouldn't like the eerie feel of it, because apparently you're not supposed to be thinking eerie thoughts if you're a kid!!! Pure and innocent is the way to go, you're not corrupt until you're 21! ^_______^
By the way, she only assigned us sunshine lolipop and rainbow books with impossibly happy endings. The "darkest" a story ever got would be a part where a character is getting beat up or kidnapped or some crap. I never read any of the assigned books in high school.
It helps that all the information about the book you need to know is discussed in class anyway. Just freaking listen and you pass the test. Waste of time.

Most English-teachers would just not be into that type of work. That's the only problem I could see, then again school is literally a prison, so why not restrict your rights while being there?

Depends on the professor. In my English Comp II class, I was allowed to write about whatever I wanted. One of the girls I often talked to, usually wrote about rape, beastiality, whatever, you name it.. She never got in trouble once, the teacher thought the girl was very intelligent and deep, to be honest. I thought she was completely normal. What you write at times expresses a portion of who you are, but not in it's entirety. Truth be told, whatever you are writing, you are writing about a character that you are 'creating', or about a 'different you', or a side of you that society has yet to witness. When I write in my English classes, it is usually about tragic love stories that involves someone dying, always. In very small cases, will I write about samurais or demons, and whatever, but you get the idea. Don't be deceived by a person's appearance, some people are incredibly good writers but will not show it. I think people can write about whatever the hell they want, and I wouldn't even care.
EDIT: Actually, thinking about it, the girl actually had a daughter. I believe that chick was in her mid 20's, so I should technically refer to her as 'lady'. But yes, completely social and normal on the outside, spoke fine, had eye-contact, even invited me to go out drinking and go dine with her on multiple occasions.
