A chaos scroll has a 60% chance of working. If it fails, the item breaks. If it works, it will either add 5 of every stat on the item, add 3, add 1, subtract 5, subtract 3 or subtract 1. That gives you a 10% chance of each, I believe. O_o It will only add/subtract from the stats already on the item, so if you want to Chaos Scroll a work glove that doesn't have any stats except DEF, it will only add DEF. If you Chaos Scroll a work glove with ATT, DEX, and DEF, it will add or subtract 1, 3 or 5 from ALL of those stats.
Chaos scrolling a Facestomper can be expensive, but the only chaos scrolled items I've seen are FSs. Because, if you land a chaos scroll on one, it could end up being 3, 5, or even 7 attack. Or it could be 1 attack, or worse thannthe average snowshoe.
