Creation or Evolution?

At one point it was thought to be impossible to know how old the Earth was or what the moon was made.

Its probably not impossible to understand more of the universe's heritage, we are just not smart enough or our technology is not evolved enough to figure out these questions.

Well, in those cases, we couldn't get the information, while in this case there is no information to get. Regardless of what happened before the Big Bang, our universe would still turn out the same, thus we can't tell what happened.
