My barbeque grill has a wasp problem. Going to take care of that later on.

Smooth Criminal Wrote:Meh, wish I found this thread in time. Would have recommended that you harness the power of the wasps to create an orbital wasp cannon.
But really dude, excellent solution and it sounds like you actually had quite a bit of fun handling this whole escapade. Glad you managed to come up with a nice solution.
Oh god NO ONE would survive that. At least with bees you'd come out with a comically swollen face. Wasp cannon wasps? I don't want to think about it.

I will have an aerosol can and a blow torch at the ready if that happens.

But smoking them out works too.
Amusing idea, but I couldn't be sure if I would wear the right pheromone so I can also smell like their queen. If I smelled like their rivals, they gonna shank me with their stingers so fast it ain't funny.

Yeah it was. I was highly amused just coming up with the idea. It was also fun seeing colored smoke just billowing out the grill.

I checked under the deck a couple weeks back. Didn't see any other nests. Although, in the corner there USED to be a small nest; that was about 4-5 years ago though. That one I just hosed from a distance, and they never remade a nest in that area. Also, perhaps the only reason they weren't all angry at me is because their queen made it out alive. That and they know my backyard is the only backyard without the city block with loads of flowers and bugs all in one little tight radius. Sure there are more plants if they fly a little further, but why go through the hassle when everything they needed is right in front of them?

I'd have used fire most likely. Just fill the thing with alcohol/diesel and set it off.

Also you probably need to learn how to use the "Macro" function in your camera.
