The wasps didn't attack you as you demolished their settlement because they were planning their counter-offensive as they buzz about your other plants. You have harmed their young, there will be consequences.

I will have an aerosol can and a blow torch at the ready if that happens.

Amusing idea, but I couldn't be sure if I would wear the right pheromone so I can also smell like their queen. If I smelled like their rivals, they gonna shank me with their stingers so fast it ain't funny.

Yeah it was. I was highly amused just coming up with the idea. It was also fun seeing colored smoke just billowing out the grill.

You may want to check all your wooden things in the garden for more. They seem too complacent...

I checked under the deck a couple weeks back. Didn't see any other nests. Although, in the corner there USED to be a small nest; that was about 4-5 years ago though. That one I just hosed from a distance, and they never remade a nest in that area. Also, perhaps the only reason they weren't all angry at me is because their queen made it out alive. That and they know my backyard is the only backyard without the city block with loads of flowers and bugs all in one little tight radius. Sure there are more plants if they fly a little further, but why go through the hassle when everything they needed is right in front of them?

Also, hope everyone celebrating or at least having a party for today's 4th of July have a safe one!
