Did you think the Nexon compensation was good for all the downtime we had?

Players who were logged in between 8PM Pacific, January 24 to 3PM Pacific, January 27 will receive 5,000 Maple Points.
48 hour Cash item extension on top of the 48 hour extension that was previously applied (total of 96 hours).
3x EXP and Drop starting from the end of the maintenance today to the end of the day Friday, February 3. The event will run during all hours of the event days.
The Evolving Ring III event will be extended to February 6.
These following items will be available for one character on your account if the character was created before 8PM, January 24, so make space and choose which character wisely!
10 free AP points
1 Storm Growth Potion. This item instantly raises your character one level.
4 free slots in each section of your item inventory
1 Hyper Teleport Rock (7 Days)
1 Premium Cash Shop Surprise

Best compensation ever.

Two things bothered me about this compensation

1) Rings. Nexon rolled back 3 days, and the only compensation for people who fought the instability to actually level their rings on those days was an extension... so they could waste more hours on those rings.
I believe they should have given everyone 3 free ring upgrade potions.

2) Storm Growth Potions. Those are wonderful, except it turned out you can't use them on the same char that used such a potion previously (from Hot Times). That was mean and unnecessary, although I'm sure Nexon didn't even know about that feature of the item. It's probably there to prevent "abuse", but seriously, if this is the char I was trying to train while all the crashing was going on, the char who probably lost more than one level from the rollback, the least you can do is give me that one free level.
It's true that all the 3x more than made up for whatever training was lost, but still. If you're giving out a free level, make sure it works.

Other than that, yeah, very generous compensation.
And most importantly, they did stabilize the servers, at least for a while. I wonder whether whatever's plaguing Scania, Bera, and Broa right now is related to those "hardware malfunctions."

The bolded part is false. I've gotten 3 Storm Growth potions on my Dark Knight, 2 from the merc/demon slayer hot times and the compensation. I successfully used all three with no hiccups.

My Storm Growth potion doesn't work. On both accounts. "You can only use this once".

....

But still the rest are alright. I just wish this mess didn't happened during the ring event. Good thing it started after my exams were finished, or IDK what I would feel right now.

For the instability? Yes. It was more than compensated.

Considering all of their games were down and Mabigoni was down for a longer period (hackings out the wazoo before this), and none of the others got this good of a compensation... I feel like they finally realized that maplestory is their money maker and that they need to treat us better. :f2: So yes, they did a wonderful job...this time :f1:

I've used every single one ever given out on my IL and they always work.

Can someone tell me if it would be a good idea to use my Storm Growth Potion now? Or tomorrow?

Yes. I am satisfied. Best compensation, probably once in a life time one as well.

I think he's referring to the ones handed out in the Scania compensation hot time..unless his didnt work from the original one..but after the compensation it said this message after you double clicked it "this can only be used once on this character" or something along those lines, and then it disappeared..but the 3x made up for it so.. :f2:

If you used one potion or more potion before arkrarium patch, then used compensation and no other ones, it worked.
If you try to use more than one potion after arkrarium patch(by glitching expiry date from old one), the 2nd one disappeared.

Doesn't explain my one disappearing though. I only had the one from this compensation.

Considering I mostly only lost ring hours, it was great compensation.

considering as how during the affected week, I only logged in once or twice to mess around via stalking some of my friends, I'd say this compensation was more than satisfactory.

Yes, the compensation is better than anything we've ever gotten, but as I've said before, I think the best compensation is a fix to the problem. For the downtime we HAD, it was fair. However, the fact that the game is still crashing, and the fact that we don't know how much longer it'll crash...then I'm not going to have a hard time saying I'm satisfied. These things are nice, but ultimately, I want the game stable, something that they have failed to provide recently. What's the point of my compensation (free hyper rock, free ap, storm growth potion, 3x drop/exp) if I can't get on to use and enjoy it?

I'd like to be able to stay logged in, and them to stop people duping every couple days.

Care less about the items they gave us, I guess it's nice but it doesn't make the game any better to play.

I gained 40k maple points just for logging in my mules right before the servers went down. That alone made me content. The 3x, inventory expansions, and free AP resets were just a bonus. Hyper Rock was nice too but I can do without.

Great compensation for the downtime and instability, not nearly enough for how they let scum get away with ruining the game for others.

The x3 helped me get 200 on my mercedes, So it was more than enough ^^
Even though the potion glitched and I didn't get a level from it.

Well for most of us that couldn't do pomegranate for most part of that week the compensation was good but of course they haven't fix a lot of the old and what seems to be new problems, for me at least I'm happy with what I got but pissed of that I couldn't get the stupid pink zakum chair (we lost about 5 days and were given unintentionally 2 days).

As compensation goes, this was pretty great. It made me think about what the point of playing Maple is when people can pretty easily do 1-200 in a week though, and as a result I probably won't be training much more after this. Used the boosted drop rate to hunt Lunar Dews/Nameless Darkness for Vampire.

I would have felt compensated with the free inventory slots and 3x.
Then again I didn't lose that much during the period of instability..

I think it was more than satisfactory.. People can be way to greedy.. :f7:

What's the point of compensation when you still have a very high chance of being hacked because of Nexon's crappy security?

I'm with bryan and crow, yeah it was nice compensation if all else ignored but whats the point if it's destined to just continue?

Needed free ring upgrades per day lost for every character, not just single-character benefits that for a good deal of people also got rolled back or just plain didn't work.
That was a solid 24 hours combined time between my 8 characters that rollback wasted for me, not counting extra time from disconnections.

Also, that pink Zakum thing? Yeah, unique untradable random chance reward hat for participation, most of which you couldn't be online for and even more that got reset.

I was fine with the compensation until I realized they messed up the rollback and I lost every item I was selling in my NPC store. Everything I was merching is now gone, yet hackers are still duping the crap out of everything?

Nexon has failed to even acknowledge this.

I think the idea of where the compensation was good or bad is irrelevant. It doesn’t solve anything really just a distraction. Was anything really fixed? That’s all I am bothered about. I’m fine with no compensation as long as when a problem arises it is dealt with timely and efficiently but I know that will never happen.

I don’t think it creates a great culture either. Whenever the game goes to pomegranate people just squeal with joy "Oh great cheap hacked weapons and now free maple points awesome!"

Also all these things are distracting from a greater issue of all the hacking, that hasn’t been mentioned at all and as far as we are aware nothing is being done about it. What about compensation for everyone that has been hacked? Yeah right.

While I liked the compensation, the fact that after all these weeks the servers are still having problems and are unstable really does bother me.

The compensation might make up for time lost experience and training wise, but it doesn't make up for the fact some people lost their items and that more garbage is now being duped.

I greatly enjoyed the compensation. Too bad once the 2X Event is over, we go back to good old 1X Grinding.

I really enjoyed the 3x. For once training on regular monsters actually felt... fun!? And even rewarding. It wasn't a horrible grindfest, it was natural progression. I probably won't play anymore after tomorrow simply because the grind is pomegranate.

I find this comment kinda funny since after I reached 120 just after BB and was already about level 90, I have never grinded again aside from farming stuff and somehow I gained 28 more levels (lol at my speed of 2 levels per month), in other words, I would say after BB grind is optional, unless of course you want to be certain level asap.

I feel like Nexon's whole purpose of this "amazing 3x compensation" was to:
- Divert attention away from the sh'ithole maple is in
- Make them seem like they care (which, by the way, they do not)
- Make you buy NX for them being such a great company

But it was more to appease us and quell our anger. The server problems are still not fixed and it seems Nexon does not even care to fix them anymore.

I enjoyed the fast levelling, yes, but I still feel that a proper "compensation" would be fixing the pineappleing game. Not going to happen.

Also; pineapple you Nexon for making my level up potion not even work. Seriously.

Compensation was nice.
Getting hacked right after the compensation events due to their horrible security...not so nice.

I really wish they would acknowledge something about it or at least make it a priority that they need to fix their security asap.

Nope, cause the servers were still very unstable (at least in scania) throughout the compensation, and I felt as though the motivation was to ensure that we kept logging in despite the pomegranatety state of the game.

I am also disgusted that no effort was made to fix the damage to the economy.

Yeah, ok, they made a half-assed effort. But the state that the economy is in because of this is disgusting, and they need to do a lot more (full roll-back of ALL the time that people were duping ideally). Nexon is "actively" deleting items they deem "illegit" and going about it every server check or so. So they're TRYING, but the hackers are duping far faster than Nexon can keep up with. And the more Nexon deletes, the more ways Hackers find ways around it. So it's kind of an effort in futility. They're TRYING, sure, but they need to be a bit more covert, and they need to take the pomegranate out FASTER than they are. They're leaving too many windows open during the timeframes between mass deletions.

Not to mention that after some time when "legit" players actually start to not like those kind of equips due to the likelyhood of getting deleted, hackers will just move on to the "legit" stat equips, just like with the VSS.

The problem is that they're not outright banning owners of them. And do you know why? Because they spend mass amounts of NX and keep lining Nexon's pockets. That alone is despicable. They can "clean up" all they want but it doesn't change anything because they're treating the symptoms, not the actual problem.

Oh, yeah, I know. Nexon's too afraid of backlash from people trying to feign ignorance about it. "Oh I didn't know it was illegit!" "Oh, I paid real money for that item, I'm going to press charges!" Stupid pomegranate like that. I sometimes wonder what goes through the minds of those folks over at NexonNA's office. Do they truly believe they're doing a good job? Do they know and acknowledge their complete failure in running a safe and fun experience for legitimate players? Or are they just as jaded as some of us oldschool maplers and just don't care anymore as long as they get their paycheck?

I thought the compensation was pretty generous, all things considered. I thought the 3x was a bit excessive, (with a part of that being over 6x for some,) but it's not like it makes the game any harder to train in. Does it change my opinion of Nexon in any way? Absolutely not. Right now I don't want to go on because I think Nexon will end up doing a rb in the next few days if these rumors keep up.

I had a x2 card saved from that event, accepted it, and got x6...

THEN, used a x1.5 exp card from the events.

Damn, x9 exp was just beast.
