FruitDealer (KOR) vs. ThorZAIN (SWE) right now
For pineapple sake.
Thanks for reminding me, almost forgot about it.
Day9 <3
ThorZAIN takes the first game in an upset! I feel so bad for FruitDealer.
For some reason i always end up cheering for the zerg in TvZ.
Edit: Fruitdealer got completely outplayed in second match.
Me too. TvZ is so hard on Z. Not to mention that FruitDealer was the crowd favorite.
Too bad FruitDealer just lost 0-2. :(:(:(:(:(
The only Terran i cheer for is when TLO randoms it.
Oh yeah! SlayerS_BoxeR vs NightEnd.
This should be entertaining. I really like TvP.
hmm i might have to watch, ive been watching gsl with a friend who has access to those videos and slayer always sucks, never seen him play well. GO TERRAN :D
BOXER HWAIGHTIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
God damn, I was so looking forward to seeing Tyler destroy Strelok but I had work and only caught the last few minutes of Thorzain vs Fruitdealer.
This will be interesting.
But i kind of predict boxer winning. No idea why, i just feel like that.
Haven't personally seen nightend before, so can't judge it too much.
Lim Yo Hwan HWAITING
He tends to be better at micro than macro and cutesy strategies, and I don't know how well his TvP is in SC2. But I'm always going to root for the crowd favorite. That's just who I am.
lolwhat? Boxer had that game oh my goooooooooooooooooood
wtp? Boxer left?
???
I think it was a disconnect.. >_> poor guy
Edit: Phew he got the game, he had that game won, he steamrolled the protoss in that battle.
Awarded to Boxer! YES
He so had that game. No way P could come back from that.
BOXER TAKES GAME 1
I'm actually amazed NightEnd lost that fight. Godly EMPs by Boxer, otherwise, the Protoss Army demolishes a tankless Terran army.
"I'm as ready as a five year old at the top of a water slide".
But anyway, where's the thread on the TL Forums? Where are people posting about this?
Imagine if it had been idra in nightend's shoes.
Oh the rage.
IdRa: "BoxeR sucks."
IdRa: "Boxer is horrible."
IdRa: "Being the Emporer of E-sports is an good skill toi have."

Thread exploded 20 pages when the DC happened. Tal'Darim Altar is apparently ridiculously Protoss favoured.
I think i saw marineking do what boxer is doing atm, just marines instead of marauders.
Sorry for double post but day #2 is running now.
oGs.MC vs ieS.Ciara
I'm with Ciara on this one, he's danish <3
bleh... cheese >.> Damn Huk vs HasuObs finished quickly.
So sad to watch it. :(
I got in at game 3 and it was a crap game. Who thought Huk would be so careless?
Wow! Great baneling bust!
Been a while since i saw a successful baneling bust.
That was really poor blocking of the bunker rush by Z. Considering that almost all TvZ's start with bunker rushes, you think he would be able to defend it.
MorroW faked a second expansion. I think he's going aggressive.
EDIT: Yeah. Another baneling bust.
SO THE ONLY WAY MORROW CAN WIN IS WITH BANELING BUSTS?!
TL site down or is it just me? o.o
edit: eh tried to load it a few more times, got server busy error or something, so guess just a ton of people trying to get on the site.
They're overloaded with people. Let things simmer for a bit.
oh its working now, but i guess TSL is over for today :( dam
I can't even imagine how anyone would remotely think Ciara could have won.
LEAVE MORROW ALONE.
Crevasse has a super wide ramp that needs to be blocked by three Barracks, Baneling busts are going to be super effective there. Game 2, Morrow was super behind after losing so much to that godly bunker rush. That marine placement was broken. Baneling bust was the only practical way to get back into an even game. I didn't catch game 1 =[ but Tal'Darim Altar has no ramp, and a wide choke so Baneling busts are super effective there as well. Plus the GSL maps are so big that a Terran counterattack isn't practical if they hold off the Banelings unlike on some Blizzard maps like Xel'Naga Caverns.
An effective simcity for Terran is difficult because you need space to allow unit pathing out of production, but still room for your Marines to shoot.
So the issue is with the maps? I knew bigger maps and chokes were always better for Z, but not to the point where it just made every TvZ a boring bling fest. :(
From what I heard, Jinro went Command Center first in game one as well, which means he had a lot less units to defend this type of thing.
To stop a Baneling Bust, you need a strong wall off with units behind it and when the Baneling numbers get particularly high, you need Seige Tanks. Going early Command Center (14CC, 1Rax CC, 2Rax CC) delays Seige tech so considerably, especially on a one gas expo, that most players opt to just skip Factory tech altogether unless they're explicitly playing Mech, and go straight to MMM which was what Jinro was trying to do. I believe Siege Tanks get transitioned into when the natural has its gasses up, but since Crevasse's in-base has only one gas, it's more difficult to transition into tanks, but Jinro didn't even get that far. He was just getting his Medivacs out.
I think it comes down to a slight build order loss currently combined with the map, and Terrans need to learn to defend against these high economy Baneling busts again on these wide ramps and chokes. This style is only recently coming into prominence with July's recent games in the GSL, but I don't believe I've seen any other examples of it.
5 bucks on Nony.
EDIT: Actually, if he's playing MC I don't know who to root for. >__>
MC vs WhiteRa will be rough with the delay since PvP is so micro oriented, and that delay will heavily favour WhiteRa. I think the winner of that has a strong chance against Tyler though, MC more than WhiteRa, but you never know with NoNy. He should destroy ThorZaIN though.
I cannot pineappleing wait to see TLO vs NaDa.

Idra VS crunch in the first match.
Idra said:
"Q: Your first round opponent is a relatively unknown player - Cruncher. What are your thoughts about him?
A:I'm approaching the match as if it were a walkover.
Q: Are you confident you can beat him? Do you expect him to do any risky strategies against you?
A:Yes, he's going to 4 gate all-in both games unless he decides to be clever and make voidrays or DTs.
"
Oh you idra.
Inb4 idra loses and rages :f2:
God, I am going to be so disappointed if IdrA loses that game. GoOdy is such a hero. Game 1 was amazing by both players. Wish I could have seen mvp vs Adelscott and qxc vs Genius live. Can't wait for VODs.
Goody destroyed by his own massive mechanical errors. :(
Liquid vs NaNiwa Can't wait.
Spoiler
Going to a 3rd game. :D
Lol, I think the self psi-storm was a desperate move to get rid of the broodlings.
Can't believe Ret lost that last game, when he was inside Naniwa's base. Really gotta wonder if his gas was really that tight to skip Metabolic for so long. If he were reinforcing with all that larva/supply in Zerglings instead of Roach, he would have won that.
Also, the credits say Artosis casting, but he hasn't yet =[ Guess he'll be here Ro16?
His gas was extremely late. After he took his third, he only started on one gas then went immediately to lair. He didn't have enough to continue the pressure, and he did need the lings.
Hahaha idra.
He lost the first game :D
Impossible to kill Protoss deathball is impossible to kill.
My stream is failing atm, just me?
Edit: Nvm, just my net being über slow..
Imagine IdrA playing Terran (again).
Called him losing.
HAHA.
The smiley face made me LMFAO.
>scout 6 gate all in
>make a round of drones
What
I was so happy to see Idra lose after all the BM he was doing. CrunCher played decent and Idra played poorly games 1 and 3. Game 1 he didn't apply the pressure needed and game 3 he guessed wrong. He didn't scout the 6 gate, but he did scout enough to know something was coming. He didn't prepare properly for what he saw.
:)
Apparently, when IdrA BMs, he's the biggest pimento on the face of the earth, but when CrunCher does it, he's Jesus pineappleing Christ smiting Satan himself.
No, the problem is the amount of BM and the type. CrunCher wasn't BMing the entire series. Idra called him a walk over, said he would 4 gate all in every match, and before each match was insulting CrunCher in private. CrunCher did a smiley face when he won his last match. There is no comparison in the amount or the type of BM.
IdrA called him a walk over because IdrA is by far and away the better player. All CrunCher's ever done to IdrA in the past was 4 gate all ins, and that's what CrunCher is known for on the ladder. I also don't believe that IdrA would insult someone in private. He has way more credibility than that, and if he were to insult someone, it would obviously be in public.
http://www.wcreplays.com/forums/show...&postcount=152
c. That was in private, after each match. Idra may be a better player, but that doesn't give him the right to BM all the time. He got what he deserved (in regards to the smiley face BM, not losing).
IdrA BMs all the goddamn time, and that's what he's known for; doesn't make him any worse of a player, nor does it mean that he deserved to lose. He's not Code S because he's GM.
He's not Code S anymore.
Idra simply underestimated his enemy, that's why he lost to be honest.
He's still a great zerg though.
That's my guess atleast.
After actually watching the games, this is what I think happened in game 3:
- IdrA's trying to get ahead early (...like he always does) judging by the fact that he took the 3rd instead of his natural
- CrunCher fakes a 4 gate
- IdrA leaves some larvae idle in order to make units to defend this
- IdrA scouts a 6 gate and (The following is just me assuming I know what IdrA was thinking):
- Drones hard, makes just enough Roaches to defend the 6 gate
- Bad timing and FF circle, IdrA loses
Think about it. IdrA is famous for his macro, he took the more mineral-rich 3rd expansion in order to gain an economic advantage, and he had like 10 roaches hatching by the time CrunCher got to his expansion, and he saw the 6 gate. Had those 10 roaches come out earlier or had the ones that were already out been spread out more, IdrA would've held the push, been way ahead, and won in another 5 minutes. His timing was off. I don't think IdrA is dumb enough to go "OMG A PUSH...MUST MAKE DRONES".
Zerg should always take that forward base first on Crevasse. If you can defend a push from Terran and Protoss on an open natural on other maps, then there's absolutely no reason to be unable to defend it on this map. If he takes the back door expansion, then Protoss will have a stronger army to deny his 3rd when he does try to take it.
Didnt feel like making a new topic: http://pro.majorleaguegaming.com/live/starcraft_2
MLG dallas coming up :3
Website is currently crashed, games won't be streamed and tournament won't start until everything is working perfectly. I feel so bad for everyone in the open bracket since they're scheduled to go to Winners Round 4 and finish at 0130, and then pick up again at 1000 the next morning or something like that.
pineapple, it's 00:30 AM here, i want it to start asap ;o;
Buy their shirts.
I'd start an actual thread for this event, but I'm about to leave my computer, and I wouldn't be able to update it with the information they haven't given us yet (i.e. stream location).
In the meantime, TeamLiquid live report thread
