Would I benefit more from going 30 base dexterity and wearing a level 90 knuckle, or staying at 20 base dex and wearing a level 80 knuckle?
you don't duh me lol.. :F3:
in third job, i see alot of builds that say you should max freeze instead of fire-burner how come? I mean yeah you can freeze the monster, but doesn't the fire also dmg them over time like poison? why do you max freeze after tripple fire? I'ma make a guild that is different then normal. :f3:
ok, it might be the same start damage but when the pioson-like effect activates in fire-burner it does OVER THE TIME DAMAGE! to me its like take-a-bullet-save-bulletS. you freeze then triple fire 3 times. you burn then triple fire 2 times because of additional damage from fire-burer!
fire burner is weak and slow. you would be better off just freezing the mob and picking them off one-by-one with triple fire.
I know you think it sucks, and i'm not trying to disagree, but i'm assuming you have both by 107 yeah? Ever try doing burner -> cooling -> burner -> cooling etc etc?
IT'S SO FAST IT'S PINEAPPLING SCARY!
I've been thinking that max/decent amp would make that combo an extremely powerful mobbing combo in 4th job. Even if you're only freezing the monsters with one of the two, it's so fast they won't have time to attack you! O_o
it's fast, but you won't be able to freeze (or stun, if you want to use summons) the mobs you kill with fire burner. first of all, if you want to use fire burner effectively, it'll have to be on a fire-weak monster, obviously. have you ever heard of a freezable fire weak monster? maybe I'm missing something, but I'm fairly certain there aren't any. so you go to one of those fire-weak monsters and all of a sudden your CE damage is terrible and you'll have to either take tons of hits from the monster or use fake shot, which makes you unable to use your summons, thus lowing your DPS and EXP. regardless of where you are or what you do, using a FB / CE combo will always be less effective than a simple freeze + triple fire combo with summons. when playing a valkyrie, you'll just have to stick to freezable monsters.
and what fire weak monster would you be mobbing in fourth job? you & kazoo have given the option of fighting blue centaurs and kappas in third job, but I'm sure no one wants to train at either of those after 120. it's not practical. I don't think it's worth spending all those points on a skill that won't help you much (if at all) in third job and that you'll never use again in later levels. making gaviota stronger is much more important in my opinion.
leaving out fire burner is just more practical overall due to the lack of fire weak monsters and usability past ~10x or 11x. valkyries are not meant to be mobbers; they have the capability, but are always better at one-on-one attacking.
I already said i never meant to disagree, i've already come to that conclusion after all your advice. My build in our guide should have been changed to reflect my single target damage optimizations.
Anyway, you still mob in 4th just not much at all. Lol. That's why we skip torpedo until 16x or so. You have to admit that with amp the damage + speed + DoT would make a decent mobbing combo for when you actually do have to mob if your ship is conveniently down. Sounds too rare to actually happen though. xD
Btw, i'm PRETTY sure you can't freeze something if it's IMMUNE to ice. Resistant on the other hand, you can freeze. I never found 100% confirmation on that yet though, and i'm too lazy to go find a video of a MM/ice mage/ice user at sharks, blue wyverns, etc etc to find out.
Ice resist isn't freezable, but there are plenty of fire weak ice neutral mobs. Ex. DTs. (Not saying they're necessarily effective.)
It doesn't really have to be fire weak for it to be effective. Without Amp, it matches up to TF when 4-mobbing I believe. And with it, it matches up to RF when 3-mobbing.
They have crap range, though (250, rather than 350/400). That's an issue.
haha I didn't mean to act like you were disagreeing, I just wanted to present my case here as well. :P about the freezing thing, I know that I can't freeze kappas (as you can see in my level 100 video, that's where I found out haha) and blue centaurs, which have the ice element under the same category as blue wyverns if I'm not mistaken.
ah good point, I hadn't even thought of DTs. though I'm still firm on my opinion that single-target attacking is overall the more effective way to go. I hadn't even thought of the range myself, but I can see what you mean about it being an issue.
Which would I get more damage out of? Using a level 90 knuckle with 30 base dex or a level 80 knuckle with 20 base dex?
Assuming the bullets drop from the current drop list, how much would bullets cost on release day? The bullets that are not found at the NPC pot shop. I wanna make some money.
Also how long does it take for an infighter to level up before they start doing good damage?
Although I was originally going gunslinger I have a doubt for training speed and I would want to boss ASAP.
