Lobby is kinda bland, but the rest of the game looks to be shaping up nicely.
And yes Fony is absolutely horrid at these types of games rofl!

Sniper from DotA2 has lines from Sniper from TF2, lol'd.
I was going to be "copyright!' then I realized it was Valve.

November 11, 2011 - Dota Team
Today’s update adds Warlock, a master of the Dark Arts and the only hero capable of summoning a mighty flaming golem.

Among a variety of other fixes and additions, today’s update also adds another step in our ongoing work to tackle community health. A couple of updates ago we released a report and commendation system. This has given us a bunch of data about the various ways that some players are helping or hurting the fun of other players. One theme we noticed was that there are some players out there who reduce other people’s fun through the communication channels, but at the same time receive commendations in other games for being good players to play with or against. So with this update we’re adding a system that detects players who are clearly reducing the fun of other players specifically through text and voice chat – and temporarily removes their ability to use those chat systems. Once they return to being additive to the community, they can re-earn that functionality. As usual, we’ll be paying careful attention to whether this makes the Dota world a better place, and you can send us your thoughts after seeing it in action.

In Today’s update we welcome back the explosive duo of Alchemist and his Ogre companion.

In community news, Cyber Sport Arena just announced their DotA 2 Star Championship. We’ve also been enjoying the art of Adam Beamish, who’s been busily producing Dota 2 wallpapers over at his blog.
If you’ve been perusing the forums out there (or watching Steam’s game stats), you’ve probably noticed that we’re really cranking out invites now. So, if you’re still waiting for an invite, fret not, it’s coming!

Sweet sweet lag...
Could a mod delete this?
Has anyone gotten into the beta yet? I've stopped expecting to get in any time soon.
My friend did, he got an invite from another friend who already had the game. Every month they give 2 keys to each player who currently have dota 2 and they can give them to whoever they like. So it will become bigger over time, they dont want to invite a ton of people because that can lead to lack of servers.
I'm still waiting for beta access, really can't wait, but i'm not desperate enough to buy a key like some people do.

Feast!
November 24, 2011 - Dota Team
Thanksgiving is upon us, so we’re keeping this week’s update small. With so many Dota 2 tournaments cropping up lately we’ve been spending some time expanding our tournament features. Our latest update brings the first of these, adding save/load functionality to private games. Every minute a new save file is automatically created. This happens in the background so you won’t notice it. The lobby leader will be able to load any of the saved games from the Game Setup option when creating a new lobby.
Tomorrow marks the start of Dreamhack, one of the biggest LAN events in the world. Their Dota 2 tournament includes both local and international teams, and should make for some exciting games to watch. You can find more information and coverage over at Dreamhack’s website or dota2Gosugamers.net.
pineappleing awesome, this means even the net crashing or the game crashing wont ruin a match :)Quote:

Congrats. I'm still not in :(
Back to laddering on SC2.
I might start streaming some of my nooby attempts at playing. And if i got more beta keys i would share on SP, but i gave both of mine away.
The game is freacking and utterly amazing, it has the feel of dota with a much smoother gameplay and being able to watch others play is great and the match-making system is quick and efficient even if the amount of people playing is low.
Well.. I haven't really tried streaming anything before, but i'm planning on streaming most of my DotA2 here: http://www.twitch.tv/maltheo
Will just be me on skype with whoever i'm playing with playing some mediocre DotA2 games(Planning to get back to my old level of skill, or better) whilst getting used to the game again (pineapple i'm loving dark seer and furion at the moment)
If anybody want me to play any specific hero or anything like that, just ask >:o)

Unleashed At Last!
December 2, 2011 - Dota Team
N’aix, the Lifestealer joins us in today’s update. He’s the one hero capable of hiding inside your own allied heroes and jumping out for a big surprise! In this update you will find various bug fixes, including the infinite wild axes that some of you couldn’t resist using while we were gone. We have also made a change that should resolve a lot of the visual bugs and crashes that happen when running fullscreen (and especially when alt-tabbing).

For our international testers, we have added IME support for better text input handling. Please let us know how this is working. We are also ramping up our leaver detection sensitivity, which results in leavers being temporarily placed in a separate matchmaking pool.
If you haven’t signed up for Dota 2 yet, its not too late! We are continuing to send invitations out each day at an increasing pace. You need to have a Steam account first and then fill out this survey.

And here's my own personal input: DotA2 is really great, even for a beta, even the matchmaking is working amazingly, the only thing that bothers me is that leavers wont get punished and that there is no concede option, regardless leavers isn't a big problem. Another problem is people that have played for example in the cases i've run in to myself, people that have played LoL and who simply refuse to take advice or critique, i met 3 people that got a beta and who used to play LoL, they were quite pomegranatety, not at the game, but at playing their hero and playing their role.. I wouldnt mind it much if they atleast listened to you, like a furion laning and ruining my exp and gold even though i told him what to buy and how to jungle(jungle furion is easy). A riki going mid feeding a tinker to 6-0 before even hitting level 3 himself even though we tried telling him he couldnt mid against a tinker. And a ES that refused to buy a PK all game long.. (Most likely not related to LoL i met people from LoL that play just fine for a new person and who listened to advice, they just said they knew how to play already and proceeded to lose us the game)
Can't wait to increase in MMR so i wont end up in games with people like that, after getting used to the game i'm back to playing tanky carries and carrying eZ.
Also time to just pineapple up peoples pomegranate with n'aix.
pineappleing hell, it double posts everytime i post a big post... and i only click once -_-
