That would be impossible. I don't live with anyone else and I'm the only one on this computer. Y'all can be 100% assured that nobody else from this IP attempted to even go on Southperry, period. The only thing that happened that was strange was when I first attempted to answer the questions was this:
1. I put in my email address.
2. I answered the 5 questions and hit the button.
3. It refreshed the previous page, as though I had never answered the questions.
4. I realized the cookie handling for this site had the cookie blocked.
5. I went into the privacy settings and allowed cookies from southperry.
6. I put in my email again and answered the questions, getting 5/5 correct.
7. It told me gratz or w/e and to come back the next day.
8. I got on today and got "We're sorry, you have been determined inelligible for this contest based on prior participation or other criteria."
I didn't cheat, only used this one IP address, and there's nobody else here. Now I cannot participate unless I cheat. I could easily just proxy, change my IP, and use other email accounts, milking the event for chairs.
That's not what I'm trying to do. I just want to know why I was restricted from participating, and I assure you, there's NOBODY else here. Just me using one email address from the same IP. I in no way cheated and no one else used this IP to attempt to participate.

I'm sure as a former basil mod the appropriate response isn't; "Oh, well you guy's gimped me so I'm going to cheat because I have no other way". The cookie clearing/refresh may have triggered it, unfortunately my knowledge on what triggers said flag isn't known to me, or anyone else. You'll have to wait until Eos get's backed to you to either resolve the error or explain what you did wrong.

I have no intention of cheating, no worries. I'll gladly wait for a response from Eos. The cookie handling thing is the only thing I can figure that would have triggered it, but I assure you, I did nothing wrong. Using advance cookie handling procedures for sites is something I've always done. I never had a SouthPerry account before now, so there was never any reason to store a cookie from the site. I appreciate the response and look forward to having the situation rectified. Sorry if I seem annoyed, this is just the second time I've had another site's event mess up on me. When disqualified from HS's, I was literally told, "Why complain about the error? Why don't you just cheat? Geez!", to put my statement in more perspective. I have no intentions of cheating the system. I only created the account to avoid such actions. I didn't agree with HS when I was told that was the solution, and I don't agree with that as the solution now. Tyvm for your time.
@Eos above: I made this SP account after it wouldn't let me use my email today already, already saying I was disqualified, and haven't even once yet attempted to even do the event with this account. At all. I have only posted on this forum with this account, and it's made with the same email that told me I was already disqualified on. The yellow high-lighted portion of that doesn't apply to this situation. This SP account was never used to attempt the event, and was made after the email had already been disqualified for no reason. Again, I only made this SP account to speak with you guys about what's happened. I have not attempted to do the event with this account. At all. The message, "We're sorry, you have been determined inelligible for this contest based on prior participation or other criteria. ", was received earlier, before this account even existed.

Tyvm for your help. Idk what happened this morning. I didn't even have a SP account and it gave me that message. o.o
Anyway, your help has been much appreciated. =]
I'd much rather get an issue fixed like this than get told "well, just go cheat. Geez!"
+points for SP. Thanks again. ^_^

Are you going to save it for future events because with some alterations (seasons) we could definitely recycle this

Considering you only have 13 out of 15 questions asking about the code is rather premature.

You can logout from Southperry before doing the quiz each day, and continue to do it as an unregistered.

I'm not big on sympathy for people who ignore the big colorful police tape warning them of danger then get injured.
This far into the event with as many flashing signs, highlighted bolded texts, tweets, and even a giant dismissable announcement about it you'd have to be a special sort of willful stupid to expect a special exemption from reality.
Considering you have in fact four accounts you've tried participating on and still aren't clear why they keep banning despite the aforementioned numerous signs, warnings, clue alerts and other people who've posted and been told the same thing, over and over and over, I think it may be best if you just resign yourself to not being up to this contest.
-
Re: Southperry & Nexon Collaborative Event
Four accounts? wtp? I do not have four accounts, I would appreciate you not accusing me. Can you please pm me what the e-mails of these four accounts are, since they are supposedly mine?
Also... I do not know why you used "keep getting banned"... I only noticed the message once. However after checking the event page just now, I noticed it again. >.<

Because you have 4 accounts 3 of them are banned. Just as has been explained over and over.
I'm not accusing you of anything, I am telling you right out that there are 4 distinct attempts at participation from your location.
If that were not a fact you would not seeing the ineligible notice.
Since you claim they're not you I have to assume they're someone else at your location who is participating, thereby disqualifying you from participation, and in accordance to the privacy notice will not share those addresses with you, because they're potentially someone else's private data.
-
@ EOS. I didn't mean to be premature I just didn't fully understand.. Sry for the inconvenience.. I will try to figure stuff out for myself from now on : )

Okay... so I've told my husband he can not try to get the chair as well, which seems a tad unfair... we are adults and because we are married we both do not get a chance to try for this.
Can you tell me, then, why I was able fill out the questions yesterday, then shortly after I was getting the disqualification notice again... when NO ONE else was even home to make an attempt??
-

Because participation counts ever. If your husband, or anyone else in your location, already started playing every account created after their attempt is going to automatically ban after attempting to play too. Only the first very attempt per location gets to continue playing. It's not someone after you participating that disqualifies you. Your participation is null and void before it ever begins because someone else got there ahead of you.
-
Re: Southperry & Nexon Collaborative Event
So I CAN still do this? I don't know what to use then. The very first attempt in my house was when I tried before I registered... which technically I didn't even attempt, all I did was view the questions. THEN I decided to register and that's when I submitted answers for the first time. My husband tried some time later in that day. I've already tried clearing cookies/cache and it won't let me try again logged in or out.

The account that answered 10 questions already, 5 on the 19th and 5 on the 25th, is the one that is eligible to continue.
Looking at questions doesn't count as participating, answering does. If he answered before you did, he's the one who's still in the game even if you were here first.

Re: Southperry & Nexon Collaborative Event
I copped a database error when I submitted my questions. I'm pretty sure I aced that set easily...
Then I clicked back and submitted again as per instructions...
Then I saw that the answers to the questions got RANDOMIZED, but my choices remained the same...
... which means I only ended up getting 1 correct instead of 5...
Why save the state of the page?
L>explanation.

I'm not @Eos; but I'll attempt an explanation:
What your browser does when you hit BACK is not entirely under the website's control. Especially when there was a database error which apparently prevented the program from saving which questions were assigned to you.
Should have glanced over the questions before hitting Submit again.

Of course... why handle for user stupidity right... I should have taken the event more seriously yeah?

Again, your situation is not something the website could control. Because of the database error, it didn't know you'd submitted anything. It's your browser that saved the selections you'd made.
Plus, we do handle for user stupidity (or carelessness), in that you only need to get 35 correct answers out of (potentially) 140 questions. Still almost two weeks to go. All today did to you was delay the day you get your chair. No need to take it too hard.

Of course, delays are inevitable. I'm not chasing after spilled milk. Its the reason behind it I'm after.
Having never run these websites before, I thought the way it works would be when form loads (as back button pressed), the form gets reloaded, hence losing its state as the answers were randomized; but if the form never reloaded, then the questions must have gotten reshuffled at the client side. Question is what sort of script changed it, or was it the multiple choice control which caused it...
-

The OP of this thread says the following;
"If you do not answer and come back on the same day you will have the same questions. Answer order will change each time the page reloads. Answers can not be changed once submitted."
The average browser back button returns to a locally cached copy of the page, how the browser remembers it being. We have no control over yours exhibiting the unusual behavior of actually going to the address it was previously at and reloading the page instead. In most browsers one would have to have gone out of their way to explicitly force that behavior.
Since in that circumstance you would've had to manually redo all the checks on the page before you could resubmit it you shouldn't have re-answered based on the ordinal position of your answers, and I guarantee your browser did not retain the ordinal position of each answer if it reloaded the page, if it retained anything whatsoever from a previously loaded form it would've retained the selected values themselves, not their position on the screen. That's why a refresh of an attempted form submission in most browsers resubmits the exact same form.

Have you considered;
A) Reading the rules. http://www.southperry.net/page-handl...privacy_policy
B) Reading the FAQ. http://www.southperry.net/page-handl...page=event_faq
C) Reading the instructions on the event page. http://www.southperry.net/spquiz.php
Not to the mention the big yellow announcement you dismissed as read after registering that clearly warned you registering after participating would not change how you were participating and that you would have to continue while logged off or be disqualified.

There is no such thing as "losing all your answers". That would be called "starting a new account"

If you answer questions on an email only account then register and answer questions on a Southperry account the southperry account will be disqualified because you will have tried to participate on more than one account

Considering your account join date is 1/31, and your first question was answered on 1/30, your problem is indeed quite obvious.
Since following the hyperlink was apparently too much of a bother maybe this will help;
