For Arcglaive VS Diersa, I read earlier that from normal to slow it's a 15/13 factor, so a 120 Arcglaive is around 137 Diesra in terms of DPS.
But there are other factors, like the Diesra leveling, the posibility of adding stats with maker, the scroll failing (there's a chance of missing one of the vega scrolls, or even 2 or 3)
What atk would an arcglaive have to be to top a 14x atk 2x str diesra?
Depends on your other gear, of course...
If you have about +30 attack (gloves and stuff) and use a 12 atk pot, 13/15*(140+x+30+12) = 115.7 + 0.87 x + 30 + 12
So eg. x = 5, the Arcglaive needs 120.03 atk to match a 145 atk Diesra. Not counting the STR, but both weapons will have a decent amount of str.

Will a 109att hellslayer outdamage a 97att karstan?
Also, are eclipses, hellslayers, red surfboards and zedbugs all the same speed? I see a lot of talk about fast(#) and slow(#) but really don't know anything about them...
idk about the karstan/hellslayer. In the data the speed for weapons is given a number, the higher the slower. There are Faster weapons, which all have a speed of 3 (Shinobi bracer is only one i can think of) Fast weapons, which either have speeds of 4 (most claws, daggers, lunchboxes/ red katana) or 5 (all Fast polearms, all knuckles and guns, most 1h swords). "Normal" is speed 6 only. "Slow" is speed 7 (eclipses, and i think red surfboards fall here) and speed 8 (Most slow PA's fall here, as do most spears). "Slower" is usually 9 and up. They changed it. @ above, i think they said its 5% of total weapon attack (for normal6 vs slow7). So add up everything they have with WATK (gloves, shoes, belt, typical attack pot, etc) then add that to both weapons. See if there is more than a 5% difference between them. If so, then the 120 is better (unless he has a LOT of attack gear this is more likely) if not, then the arcglaive is betterQuote:

I just hit 45 on my Aran and I'm wondering if I'm supposed to miss as much as I am doing Normal Mode on PyPQ. Do I need to raise my acc more or is it just a gameplay mechanic that I will miss some monsters in a mob on a regular basis?
Current acc is 76ish.
you could train to 50 and get a zhelm and poof accuracy problems are pretty much gone. Use a maple scorpio in the mean time? On a guan yu.

also i had another question, does whirlwind´s knockback also work on bosses? i know it isnt the most usefull skill but neither is final toss, also lvl 1 whirlwind is very different from the max lvl version so i was wondering about its possible potential. this because aran dont have rush which can be cast instantly, thus final charge isnt always that usefull at for instance bigfoot

What do Arans max after Full Swing and Combo Critical? I saw a build that suggested Smart Knockback next but it doesn't seem that useful early on. Would Snow Charge next be a better option?
Also, does anyone know if maxed Whirlwind works on bosses?
Smart Knockback is ridiculously useful for training at gallopera. And unless you're in scania it's not unlikely that you'll find a map to share with someone. Two arans splitting the map is ridiculously fast exp. I was getting about 40% per hour at level 95. Clean weapon. Oh, and Fenrir is also surprisingly good to use just as monsters spawn. It's best not to use it as a finisher, since most of the time max fenrir was OHKOing fresh spawns.Quote:

Now my own question. What would be the fastest exp for me solo. I could get a HS mule, but that's it.
My range is ~7907 and I'm pumping HP atm, since I only have 6k hp (lvl 121), so also bare in mind my skills are low leveld. As indication: OS hits on single target can hit 38k max.
Is Oblivs worth it already? Witht he danger of dying by nto potting in time, or shud I just stick to skeles till my skills/hp are higher? (or even gallos, but I think these are out of the question, right?)

I think skeles are your best bet, you could try to do all the ToT quests because that alone can get you atleast 5 levels( if you havent finished them already). I went to O4 on my bucc at 125 because i had 7k HP unwashed and survived for a good amounts of time there, since you have similar HP id suggest get 7k HP and go.Quote:

You will probably level past 80 on 4x(if ofcourse nobody KSs you) I gained about 95%/hr at stormbreakers at 73 without any outside help, KSers, and average gear. So assuming youre KS free you will get around 4 levels in one hr.Quote:

Yeah, I noticed that too with Fullswing, but I thought it was some kind of crit ring glitch too. For example, I noticed it activating on those Eyes of Time, doing 15k damage when I usually do around 5k uncrit, so I thought it was just finishing off the remaining hp. Didn't really notice it on other mobs, mostly because I was trying to keep myself alive.
Also, I heard rumors that the crit ring's 1hko chance doesn't activate in 2+ mobs with any of the -swing attacks, and only works with a single mob. I usually can't notice it onscreen, so I'm wondering if anyone else has some kind of confirmation. It does seem to work with Final Charge, however.

I plan on training at imperial guard a and itll look something like a paladin training because im going to get my combo fast(hence the fastest polearm) then tempest and kill everything with one hit
As fas as I know, the fastest readily available polearms are 'normal' (6) speed, which is what Maple Karstan, Crimson Arglaive and Machlear are.
There is a Purple Surfboard that is supposed to be one step faster, but HS doesn't even list it. Maybe that's only inother versions.
Various other snowboards and surfboards are fast, but I think lower level.

Thanks i don't really care about the damage at that point because ill need to build up my combo asap, then tempset and OHKO monsters, so a low level polearm will do just fine. The fastest polearms are speed 5 and an easy one to get is the Gold Surfboard. So i guess ill be hunting for that.

Ummmmmmmmmm, I'm pretty poor. Obviously, I've been using level 30 pants for 43 levels. Anyways, what should I invest in/focus on?

With 188 accuracy you can go to stormbreakers in the keep if you have a bishop door you there. My aran went there at 55. Also, since your earrings are unscrolled, scroll em for dex and you'll be able to convert some base dex -> base str for a nice small boost.
Glove: I'd say, buy yourself a 6 att glove. They're super cheap and it'll be a nice att increase. If you're going to save up a bit before upgrading spring for a 10 att.
Weapon: At 95 att, that weapon will last you for quite a while. Probably until your lvl 100 weapon.
Cape: 2 att, X dex PAC is what I used. It helped with my acc issue, but you seem fine there. Find yourself a nice str cape. OR if you can find a clean cape with str from potential then you can just buy 60% cape str scrolls (~3.5m in windia, not sure 'bout mardia) and scroll it yourself.
Shoes: Not much you can do right now that will help you as much as upgrading the more important stuff.
Belt: Go pyramid PQ and get yourself a pharoah belt, 100 hp/mp will help more than +1 allstat. If you're lucky you might even get an immortal pharoah belt.
Pendant: Get yourself a dep star. +5 all stat 100hp/mp is quite nice. It also helps bring up mp to make better use of sorcerer's elixirs (if you currently have less than 1500 mp that is.)
bottom/top: with that accuracy scrolling for dex is pointless, and scrolling for str is challenging. Either find one with str from potential or buy one pre scrolled. Don't give this any priority right away though. Upgrading other things is easier and will give you a better boost (for now)
Earring: those are fine. If you want to get some earring dex 60s later on (Like at lvl 90+) then scroll those for dex. It'll come in handy if you want to wear an arcglaive (80? base dex requirement)
medal: Once you get to 70/120 wear the appropriate medal. The one from the pyramid PQ isn't that bad either.
Helm: it's fine.
*Note: pyramid PQ = nett's pyramid accessible through dimensional mirror.
Okay cool. I think if I continue to upgrade to various items with slight dex boosts I'll have the 80 requirement taken care of easily.
Medal: Right now the mush gives +2 to all and 100 hp/mp, the 70 gives +1 and 150. Ehhhh.
Worth it to try and scroll my Karstan further? I don't know it's value right now, but I'm assuming that with 4 slots it's still quite valuable. I was dumb when buying and didn't check the slots, it was already missing one. I scrolled 2 50%'s successfully. I'll probably level fast enough to make it to 100 without blinking, but could I theoretically make this weapon last me another 40 levels?

If all the other slots work you could be looking at an end game Karstan, my Karstan is 110 atk and im using it until i can scroll a 145 Diesra or make and Acrglaive, Im not really rich either (16mil almost at all times) but making those weapons seems pretty easy with the 50% scrolls, so if you can use the Karstan until you get 80 dex requirment for an Arcglaive, or get to 120 and hunt for PoTs to make a Diesra then scroll it with 50%s.
However if the other slots work and I 60% it that makes it a 103 atk and 4 str. Still a good weapon, but not end game material.
I'm carrying around 20m on my main, right now, since this thread gave me inspiration to try and scroll, about 50m on my mule/shop account.
Edit: Maybe I'll be funny and scroll it to 103 atk 4 str and then enhance it. Do enhancement/potential scrolls work on maple items?

you could have gotten 2 50% scrolls to scroll it to 110 like my Karstan, and it wouldn't even cost you anything....sorry about your scrolls
I already had gotten two 50% scrolls through the exploit, those were the successful ones. Three stupid 60%s failed in a row. I heard they deleted the event to get the scrolls, if that's not true I'll get one more and attempt a 100. That will be a much nicer change and carry me happily to an Arcglaive.
My next question:
How in the HELL are you supposed to get 500 crimson woods? I have 3, my friend has...1 which she has saved for me. When I looked on the market I saw a blazingly high total of 1, selling for 500k. At that rate it would cost 250m for the woods alone. Is there a special map that you can farm Crimson Trees? Because good lord, this just looks miserable.
And you said stormbreakers in the keep solely if a bishop could get me there. Is there any way to get there by myself?
This is my first character in 5 years and all of the new material is throwing me for massive amounts of lolwats.
You can get up there by yourself but you need to survive the hit from a Crimson Guardian (3.7k) so if you can survive that go for it. The crimson wood is hard to get, that's why there are so few arcgalives in the market. You can find crimsonwood in the Lower Acsent area. My friend just farmed 7 50%s this morning.
I do have a relatively high hp for my level. Bawwwwwwww I should have just farmed all of them.

Anyone know Cleaving Attack skill. Hows it work? Ignore the monster DEF 20%, damage reduce by 50%. What happen if mob multiple monster?
I though mob more damage dynamic increase. I can't find any source or calculation how does this skill work? ;o

You always max drain. Such a useful skill for Arans. I still can't believe people won't max it. Ad they use PSB because of no secondary stat requirement, Fast 5 speed. Not the best, but decent to get.Quote:

Final Toss is the best skill an Aran has.
For 2nd job, just take points out of Body Pressure and max Final Charge if you really want maxed Fenrir, but most people suggest just leaving Fenrir at 11. Having a spammable 10 mob rush vs 32 less seconds and 8% less activation rate on a status effect that doesn't affect bosses vs a situational mobbing skill that will basically still OHKO at any level. I understand what capping Combo Drain lower has to do with Combo Tempest though.
Well I was giving out the option of what can possibly be done. I don't actually have Combo Tempest yet, but from what I've read, you need max Combo Fenrir(though I think it should be Combo Judgement IMO). If not then I personally would leave it at 11, but if I take Body Pressure from 10 to 6(which is almost cutting and damage in half, and I didn't know it doesn't work on bosses.) I still can't max Physical Training AND Final Charge. Wouldn't it be better to take down Combo Drain? Its only 1% less and 16 seconds shorter( though with the timer increase it may be more).Quote:

How useful is Rolling Spin? I use it but not nothing more than to build my combo to 30 to use Combo Drain when my combo is 0. If it isn't, why not keep it at 1 and finish maxing what was left in 2nd job?
Don't max Final Charge, there is no real point compared to all the other 2nd Job skills. 11 Fenrir as Joe suggested is what should be done, since you only need 10 Combo Fenrir to get the job done. Otherwise, the build posted up is decent, just remember to max Combo Drain.Quote:

the best build should be:
1st job max everything but booster
2nd job everything but fenrir at 10 and booster at 17.
3rd job I really don't know, final toss is pretty nice for zak when you get freeze standing maxed, rolling spin in my opinion is better than combo recharge but combo recharge is awesome for pvp with tempest (but it's terrible when maxed and combo barrier)
I'd leave combo recharge at 11, and get 4 extra points from 4th job (when maxing combo barrier) because before that you don't really use it, rolling spin can recharge your combos fast.
edit: leaving it at 11 is too risky 28% hp reduction is a lot for arans hp, so maybe i would leave it at 15 by leaving spin at 16.
I personally left rolling spin at 1 in my test build because people keep insisting that final toss is the most amazing skill ever, but even doing that I wasn't able to max booster/final charge/smart knockback. At the same time, I had my Fenrir at 20 because I thought you needed it that high for other skills. Anyway, I kinda like combo recharge if only for recasting combo drain and I imagine it's kind of important for being able to use combo barrier for clutch boss fights. Really though, I don't see how Arans are going to have enough points in second/third job, especially if you go back for booster.
Unless someone lays out some really solid reasoning as to why I shouldn't, I'm only going to put one point in final toss and leave rolling spin unmaxed so that I can max everything else.
Edit: I don't think I'm going to have any problems with skill points in 4th job because of the 5 piece set bonus from the 140 set, but assuming I couldn't do that I would also probably take points out of sudden strike and leave Maple Warrior at 29 for the sake of increasing Combo Tempest further since I really don't understand the appeal of increasing the damage of final charge/final toss. Also, are there really no consequences to leaving combo smash at 5?
Final Toss is an Aran's highest single target DPS skill and the 4th strongest mob DPS skill in the game. Don't max it, it's really bad.
I made this with the thought that different people play the game different, yeah some skills should be maxed to bring out the best in the class but some skills seem to be about preference. And I only got 3 points when I advanced yesterday, but about the Combo Barrier problem, I don't think it is too much of a hassle to build up a short 30 combo just using Rolling Spin or normal attacking. I use Combo Recharge to raise my attack back up after using a combo finisher(I.E Fenrir/Judgement/Tempest/Barrier).Quote:
