I'm pretty sure everyone here agrees with this here list:
1. GSC

Obviously. And HG/SS will definitely pair them.

K!yO Wrote:Sim City, but we dont need to name all those e.e

Sim City is amazing. Every single game. No need to bash it Smile

I really couldn't call 2 games in 1 year milking. It's when it hits more than 4.

River City Ransom is one that they could've made roughly 7 sequels off of. Everybody here is raving about Dungeon Fighter, but River City Ransom is almost exactly the same thing... in 8 bit.

I'd say... Pong. Glitter

That game was awesome. It was also hilarious how it had a whole "rpg" growth scheme to it, yet you could easily beat the final boss almost right away because he just sat there and took the beating while telling you he's badass.

Halo Wars wasn't even a traditional Halo game...and even if it was, two a year isn't terrible.

DarkPwnage Wrote:Call of Duty has become a yearly installment series.

Street Fighter anyone? It's only a matter of time before Super Street Fighter 4 World Champion Hyper Fighting HD Turbo Alpha Third Strike Remix is out.

Call of Duty is one of those few franchises that deserves a lot of games, but even so, one game a year isn't milking it, they've been pushing as hard as they can for each installment.

Yeah it is, because some people eat that pomegranate up and the sales set a precedent that will guarantee two a year for years to come.

Halo games aren't even good. Stupid frat boys.

I know, Halo games suck. But thus far there's only been...5? of them. There was a 2/3 year gap from 1-2, then another from 2-3. A couple of quick releases now is a moot point to me. Plus, Halo Wars was a completely different game. Stunned It shouldn't even count.

Comparing across generations, IMO. HG/SS is really good, even without the PokeWalker.

There are 18 versions of Final Fantasy 6. 93 Final Fantasy 1's. It's ridiculous. A lot of companies are getting into this habit because they know idiots will buy their stuff.
There are 2 ports of FFVI. Two terrible, shitty ports that cannot even surpass an over a decade old game system.

Also, you mention FF but you don't even touch all the FFVII spinoffs? There are more of those than FF1 remakes.

At least they're whole new games. FF: Crisis Core, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy and FF: Dirge of Cerberus were spin-offs, yes, but unique after all.

Well, not counting the movies.

 GH Games

Updated the chart to more accurately depict the immense amount of moneymaking Activision is doing, and Van Halen came out two days ago. YAY FOR GUITAR HERO 15 OR 16...

I must admit I played the arcade version of GH3 at an amusement park, and I also have to admit that it sucked.

Still milking.

But yeah, I was aiming specifically at the ports and re-releases. Content doesn't matter, releasing the same game every two years is a scumbag move.

FFVII is a series that wasn't very good and needs to die. Like Saw.

Also, I find it funny how Square can get away with charging 40$ for a port of their games to a system with shitty sound and the inability to keep up with mode7 and people will still defend them.

OMG CLOUD AND SEPHY YAOI EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

As long as fangirls exist, the FFVII cow never ends.

Ever. I've learned to ignore it.

Well, Neversoft/Activision has been doing all the milking. GH1, 2, and 80's were all Harmonix games(Those probably being the best ones too)

INDEED.

It's amazing how many of these Namco pump out when all but two of them are completely awful. (Tales of the Abyss and Destiny 2/Eternia are the exceptions. In no way could they be considered great games but they're very playable, maybe even enjoyable. And in comparison to any other Tales of... game, they're masterpieces. But only in comparison.)

TALES OF TAILS WAIT FOR IT... WAIT FOR IT.
