Series/Franchise milking the most out of people?

If I had to choose I'd say Activision and Guitar Hero. GH5 = 9th GH game? Lolwut. Rock the 80's? 30 songs for like $40? Come on.

You've got me there. I can't really think of any other series of games that are released uber fast.

Square-Enix is the worst about this.

There are 18 versions of Final Fantasy 6. 93 Final Fantasy 1's. It's ridiculous. A lot of companies are getting into this habit because they know idiots will buy their stuff.

Yes, I would say Square Enix would be the worst, but they do a good job in varying some of the content and story of the games that it isnt even a problem.

Good example of this would be Final Fantasy XIII, they already planned like 5 other games besides the main one even before they got XIII out the door.

Last few games of the BN series started to get milkin'... Like BN5 with 2 GBA SKUs and a DS SKU. And then the "link them up get moarrrr powarrr" thing.

"Smash Hits" sure as hell wasn't worth it...just old songs with new note charts. Since when do games, of all things, get a smash hit album?

Pokemon actually has a story, and it changes a bit from each one.

Sports games. Every year, there's a new sports game for EVERY SPORT and THEY'RE ALWAYS THE SAME AS THEY WERE LAST YEAR, BUT YOU GOTTA BUY THE LATEST GAME BECAUSE THEY UPDATED SO AND SO'S STATS TO WHAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY!

You disappoint me. AQUATIC Pokemon was awesome. They really wanted to OD on water, so they did it. Purged it from their systems (and ours), and then went and made D/P/Pt which had just about NO water.

In retrospect, the only Pokemon version games that sucked were R/B/Y. They only felt awesome at the time. INB4 DELUSIONAL F'AGS.

Leave this thread. Even in the latest games, my party always has a few generation 1 Pokemans in it. After all, Gen 1 had the best Pokemon.

The only cool thing about R/S was the introduction of the Secret Base system.

I didn't say the Pokemon set in the first generation was bad. The games were. Terrible graphics, terrible sound, terrible battling and stat system, general LACK OF EVERYTHING. It was far too simplistic and not in the good way, either.

It's vastly more fun having a long game with 493 Pokemon, tons of moves, strategies and builds to choose from. The good graphics/animations and sounds are a huge bonus, as well.

Well yeah, I'm with you on that...

But R/B/Y came out in '95 or '96. AT THE TIME, IT WAS REVOLUTIONARY! Can't compare graphics and game mechanics to a game that's ten years old...
