Spears can abuse Spear Crusher, which hits up to three monsters three times each, while Pole Arms will excel with Pole Arm Fury, which hits up to six monsters once (and might be a bit faster). Spear Fury and Pole Arm Crusher exist too btw, but for obvious reasons they're not as good. Fury only wins over Crusher if there's a lot of mobs, and typically in most training maps you'll find mobs in groups of 2-4. Also, since Pole Arm Fury gets the most damage by hitting the most monsters, Fury makes a very poor skill to use against solitary targets such as bosses.

One good thing there is to say about PADKs is that they can get sniping spots occasionally, such as Crimson Guardians.

if you wanna go swords, it looks like you may have to skip (or have like 10 in) either powerguard or sword FA, either of which is fairly crippling for unfunded crusaders to be without. pg is a geat money saver and fa is indispensible.

i hafta recommend sticking with axes.

pages can go hybrid fairly easily since skipping fa is a real option for them; fa lowers slash blast's dps and mucks it up. but wks dont charge orbs and fa increases hit count per min by quite a bit, so its good for crusaders.

Ok, I'm level 30 (and a spearman).
I have 45 base Dex and 57 (or 59 with the level 30 overall) Accuracy total, so I think I'm good in that department. I can't really afford to be one of those 10 base Dex" warriors. I'm broke. :<
I suppose it shouldn't matter too much, because the points I lose in pure AP Str should be made up by the fact that I don't have to have as much Dex gear, and I should be able to focus more on Str than Dex.

I really don't know what to put my points into first. Mastery or start with HB. I don't quite know how much the extra accuracy/strength from Mastery is...?

unless you plan to leech/hardcore your way to 40 and stop there forever, get mastery first. unstable damage is your most glaring flaw at the moment and you need to fix it asap. get some booster to taste before hb as well. a good build:

5 mastery -> 14 mastery / 6 booster (booster any time here, but do 2 lvls of 3 sp) -> 3 iron will -> 30 hb

max hb by 50, optional 20th point in mastery for +1 acc, doesnt matter which weapon you choose.

Then there are 78 points left. That could go 30 PG, 23 FA, 19 Mastery, 6 Booster. Fill up the rest with 3rd job points or SP resets. thats a possibility, but i am personally against skipping 3rd job skills in favor of 2nd and thats the main reason i dont want to recommend it. 22 missing points and 3rd job is already 9 short of maxing everything. armor crash and mana regen are useless in terms of speeding training speed, but theyre still 3rd job and have small uses (ht, never buying mana pots again). call me biased.

That's such an ugly build, though. Axes look cool and the damage difference isn't going to crush your ability to train or boss. My Fighter is pure axe and I have no regrets.

In comparison to saving MP pots, the difference between sword and axe is pretty large >_> If you're gonna save money, do it by going with Swords.

I'd say it depends on the level range though, whether it really matters. From about 1-90, they're fairly even. The good swords cost way more, and they're harder to find. Then at level 90+ it just goes awry. A couple Fast 2h weapons, usable level 100/110 weapons... the difference in Brandish damage due to stab+slash is just the coup de grace.

Er, I need help with some things regarding my future DrK.....

I'm seriously considering raising a DrK this summer simply because I want to train a new character (and help alleviate the low # of DrK's that is wrecking Khaini ATM >_>).

Yes, I do plan to HP wash him (50 points, to be exact - done over a period of time). But what I'm most concerned about is getting enough acc to hit everything 100%.

I plan to leave base DEX between 25 ~ 40, depending on my needs. I was wondering, how much DEX should I try to get from equips so I can have accuracy between 148 ~ 160? Thanks!

P.S. My future DrK is currently a GPQ mule in my guild. >_>

And looking at some dexless DrK's with 15x ~ 16x acc (saw one warrior with 17x) kinda motivated me to try going for that. xD

Also, forgot to post this question: For endgame weapon, Sky Skis or Pinaka/DFaltizan? And for overall, should I try to scroll/obtain a 2x DEX overall then shift to a top/bottom set?

That's what I'm going for. The overall then top/bottom Dex. For the weapon, I haven't really decided on the pros/cons of a final weapon yet, but a Faltizan looks like the best choice from what I see.

*cough* Anywho, if you two are planning for Time Temple monsters, consider having 165+ accuracy. It takes 173 accuracy to 100% hit the highest level normal monster, 180 accuracy to 100% hit the red bull boss, and 203 accuracy to 100% hit Pink Been and Hsalf. Just a thought.

A really well scrolled sky ski should be a pinaka, but faltizans may get a slight edge. Either way, it's close. For training purposes though, the damage-per-hit weapon would probably be better than the DPS weapon, simply because it gives skeles less of a chance to laser you. The point is moot for me, as fury at my level takes too long to kill them before laser anyway (esp with 80 points in dex and 20ish more in HP).

Anyways, I also forgot to add that I'm planning to go hybrid since I personally think its unique to the max. ;D

since zerk 30 is fairly common now it should be attainable to scroll a powerful enough ski (especially with box event) to kill in the same number of hits, or at least come to within a couple levels of str to match up. and skis mean ~10 less accuracy to worry about. dfaltz dont have 10 acc.

The skis are an advantage for their speed, not the acc, although 10 free acc is always nice. Most DrKs by the time the weapon speed really makes a tremendous impact will already have all the acc they need. Anyways, higher speed + free acc is nice. I still prefer speed built in (<3 Arcglaive) and free but useless M.Attk. Considering making a BattleBishop and giving it my Arcglaive if I ever get a better PA.

Considering that, for my DrK, my project was to perfect scroll a weapon. Should i do a Sky ski or a faltizan, i'm leaning more for the ski since it's cheap now and it has the free acc (also speed)

It really, really depends on certain things.

Perfect-scrolling Sky Skis: This will probably benefit you in terms of dealing more DPS. ACC boost is a bonus too.

DFaltizan: slightly less DPS, however its value is much higher than Sky Skis. And if you like seeing big damage show up....this weapon is for you

Just find something where you can throw in values for attack like on Hidden-Street, and put in realistic numbers for how high you think your Skis/Faltizan will get. Multiply the top of your damage range for the Skis by 1.1, and you have the equivalent of the slow speed spear.

Ex: 9k Sky Ski damage range = 9.9k Pinaka/Faltizan range, in terms of overall DPS

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd pay way more for a perfectly scrolled skis than a perfect Faltizan, even after this box event.

Really if you think about it, a 14x Falt will mean that you will be able to 1hko skeles (Crusher + Rush combo) during your 16x's (Assuming you have adequate gear, spear excluded). Or with skis you can do it at 17x, and have the falt beat in overall DPS. The Accuracy from the skis is just another added bonus.

I'd say skis. Bossing speed kicks ass =P

I just found out that Spear 30% in my server went to astronomical prices, and I needed that to try dumping on some Sky Skis. But since I can't afford to take a big financial hit from this.........I might have to scrap it.

What other good end-game weapons can I really use? (This is for my future DrK, btw)

I still think that skis are the best possible route you can take at this point. They're as cheap if not cheaper than nakas and are ten times as useful.

Spear scrolls are going to plateau at any given time, when that happens, I recommend you be stalked on 97+ attack skis. Make sure and have a decent pile of change put aside to mass scroll yourself a decent pair.

Really there's no other option other than perhaps going the prescrilled route and buying that way. But any decent spear (125+) is going to cost you a pretty penny anyways.

Either that or go PA...*cough*

You could always hold out for Time Temple and Maker and make the Reverse spear, which with base attack, some 60s, and leveling would easily result in a 125+. Because warrior gear requires no 2ndary stat, you'd be fine, and wouldn't lose much DPS vs the Sky Skis. If you could get one to 130-135, you'd be set.

My next project was making a Hero, and as I did to all my previous characters I HP washed them madly, so will I do to this one. Except for this one, my Hero, I want to aim for 18k base HP at around 150~160.

All I know from my own knowledge is 40 int=1 wash; yes my INT gear is enough so there's no need to worry about that.

Now I have no idea how many washes will it take, which serves you guys the question.

If It's too much to ask, I'd like to know how much HP points do I gain per AP added and a few calculations to give me a clearer idea of how much NX I need to save up, ty ^^

Each AP in HP will give you 50-54 HP, so assuming it's random, an average of 52 HP.

At 160, your estimated HP without washing would be around 10500 according to my calculations, so you'll need about 145 washes (145*52=7540), or 29 levels of washing for 18k at 160.

I have a question, which are the monsters/bosses {all versions} normal warriors never be able to hit effectively? Also which are the monsters/bosses low hp characters wont be able to kill?

For those of you who train at typhons: how's your exp in a party?

I'd like to find out if there's any incentives for a sader or dk with their respective luring skill to party with me there.

And does the level difference matter at typhons? Some maps do, so I'd like to find out before trying to party with someone and making their exp/hr worse.

Shout stuns, so wouldn't saders be dropping the Typhons like a rock? I've just never met a sader that trained there.

I know a DrK that used to train at Typhons. He soloed like 90% of it and I think he brought mostly priests along for the rest, but his exp was quite good. I don't know the exact numbers but he got 100-130 in like two weeks. o_O He lurks here so let's see if I can attract him. xD

I'll go out on a limb and say that training with a DK would be beneficial, depending on the level difference.

Quick warrior question: My warrior's (future DrK) is now level 29, with the essential skills done (maxed-out Max HP increase, Power Strike, Slash Blast, along with 5 improving HP recovery). I have basically 6 points left to use on 1st job skills.

What should I dump those on?

Doesn't matter whatsoever. Dump em in Endure if you wanna afk on ladders or something. Or iron body for the lulz.

Another question: I'll start my warrior leveling spree next week (retiring my F/P in the proccess).

How can I level from 31-51 in 2 weeks' time? I got all the equips I need, except that I have no clue on the good training spots. And no I'm not using 2x EXP cards since it'd be kinda of a waste to use it on him at this level.

Other info: Will train him for about 2 hours a day or so.

Yes, CPQ. I assume you have well funded equips, so you should Slash Blast the crap out of Rooms 3-4 from early 30s til 40 or so, asking for summons whenever possible, then mix it up until 50 with some Rooms 5-6 Rombot pwning and finding friends/TW groups to summon for you in Rooms 3-4.

IIRC, you're making a spearman. What are you getting after Mastery, HB or FA? If FA, Rombotting will be better than with no FA, though still not as good as mass summons. FA reduces mass summon killing speed slightly. But you'll still get 1k+ CP, which is way more than enough to get good EXP. (From experience with my page, who has max FA.)

Not getting FA, going hybrid. Picking HB after Mastery/Booster (Spear) - plan to have Mastery/Booster (Spear) and HB down by Level 50-51.

From my previous experinces playing level 4x characters I own, CPQ is quite a mess, IMO. There's too many cheap asses (excuse my language) that simply party you and ditch you for their personal 1v1 battles. Its quite disguisting. So whatever it takes, I'd like to avoid CPQ at all costs.

Quick question: I know Panic is useless with Brandish, but what about Coma? Do Heroes still use Coma when mobbing?

Usually the only time I use a finisher is when I'm about to recast combo or to finish off a boss, so generally no.

i use it specifically when i have a mob of 6+ skeles, but imo its usually a mistake in terms of dps and only useful because i just rushed 6 skeles and want them stunned. i dont hit high enough to 2hko everything after using coma. :/

itll probably be useful in 17x or 18x when i can 2hko skele on any amount of orbs... but hopefully there will be stronger monsters to train on by then. excluding cgs.

One quick question: For Pole Arm Fury, is it constantly hitting 6 monsters at any given level?

(If so, I might dump a point in it for the heck of it and just fury away at MP3. Do note that Im going hybrid for my future DrK)

You'd see about the same, as there is about a 10% attack difference and speed difference as well. (assuming a fast (5) tube). If it is fast (4), then the tube is better.

According to Fiel's post (seriously, bookmark it, sooo useful), Duck Tubes are Fast(5).

EDIT: I have a question of my own. Anyone got the 2H sword Pink Flower Tube? I want to know what the attack is so I can bother to get it (or not). I know it's Fast (5) from the reference above. the pink tube is godly for being lvl 30 - its around 65-70 att. but dont bother if youre already using that map because you would need to scroll the tube and its time limited.

40 is low. I usually left my warriors between 60-80 dex.

what's the affect of attack speed on sword DPS? i'm debating between the lvl 64 maple swords (1h and 2h), and i was by how much the faster attack speed helps with covering up the damage formula gap. (i dont mind the range because the swords are for my dawn warrior, and i understood soul blade is the same range for both.)

Asked the same on Sleepy and didn't get answer yet so :
I'm a level 39 Page, i got 3 SP to use and i don't know if i should use them on FA. Are Non-FA builds common with Pages/WKs?

I'd put off FA until the end of 2nd job. It's pretty useless in 2nd job since all you need to do is spam Slash Blast at super mobby places.

Never have less than 15 FA or so. At early levels it does such horrible damage and so rarely that it is not only unpredictable but weak as well. Save until you have 15 or so before using them all at once.

Hmm - do you find yourself using a lot of potions? If so, PG may help. It's a 40% reduction at max of all touch damage.

If not, and most of your kills are 1v1, then go for FA. However, be aware that it WILL weaken your mobbing ability with slash blast.

Look at it this way - warriors have the lowest accuracy of any class on average. Regardless of what gear you have, your accuracy will never be more than "oh, that's good, for a warrrior."

Or you will get, "wtp, you must have messed up DEX."

What's a good place for an Aran (just assume PA Spearman I guess) at level 38? I've been at Iron Mutaes and it's been great but there's hackers on every channel.

Depending how strong, Block Golem or Cold Eyes would probably be best for a regular Spearman. Neither is a flat map though so I dunno how that affects combos.

Level 98: 2 Dragon Blood (Max), 1 Dragon Roar (1)

1) you can do better than windraiders in 8x. kents, stormbreakers, wolf spiders, and dual ghost pirates all have similar hp:xp ratios (slightly worse, but more time is spent killing than moving to the next platform).

about the build, if youre hybrid enough to want early fury you might as well get that 1 point at 70 and get it to 3-6 by 72 so it completely replaces slash blast. at wr fury will be much better than weak crusher and you can still max crusher by early-mid 8x and max fury by 90.

I personally went for pure PA fury first, it was amazing exp at WR until I left there at about 79 or so and fought at the stormbreaker map in CWK. I know not many people go up there but I found the exp to be even better than WR albeit more expensive. Just circle around the map clearing everything out(if you go there its pretty obvious how to cycle through it) I stayed there until I was ready for himes at around 92-93 I think it was.

Also, never tried the Evil Dead map but I don't think that the exp you would be getting there is better than you could get at the stormbreaker map I mentioned. Anyways, good luck to you and hope I helped slightly.

Hm.....never thought Stormbreakers would be a good training spot. Do you mean the Stormbreakers in the caves at the Lower Ascent?

Well, back when I was rummaging through on my F/P AM, I literally hated that place since it was literally infestation to the max. :f7: Hoardes and hoardes of Elderwraiths made me go nuts, and if a BF showed up there, I had to run for my life.

But here's a few legit things I can exploit at that place: Elderwraith's ability to follow you and their sheer numbers in that map alone. If you combine those......well yeah, you'll get what I mean about that. Plus I'm going to be done with my HP washing by level 90 (estimated 16-17K HP with HB at level 90), so I shouldn't have a problem surviving there, albiet running from a BF if it justs spawn out of nowhere.

If you need, I can go there tomorrow and take a SS of that map I'm talking about.

I have a pair of 118 att ski skys with no hammer used on them, should I use the hammer and attempt to get a 120+att or just save my money and nx to invest into creating a reverse weapon.

It maybe true that the Reverse Alchupiz spear has a 112 base, and has all the ability to level up and be scrolled to 13x but is it worth the investment considering my spears are one speed faster? Or should I just invest into that spear anyway because of the extra damage boost could get my range high enough to 2 hit skele's earlier? By the way this is all from a level 128 dark knight.

Here's my advice:

If you know that you'll still fall short, even after selling the spear (hammer'd or not), then I suggest sticking to Sky Skis.

Also, here's another thing: Your Sky Skis that you have will probably be the godsend of your life - you have the ability to deal a higher DPS than others who use Slow (7/8) spears for quite a long time (however, do note that godly-scrolled Slow 7/8 spears will overtake a Sky Ski eventually, but that's like a long shot). And hence this is why I'm feverishly hunting for a Sky Ski right now because of its sexy DPS ability.

If you wish to have something rare and unique, and have no use for the Sky Skis, as well as having everything ready, be my guest and go make the Reverse spear.

P.S. Can I have that Sky Ski? Lol jk =P

Thanks for the advice, with a pine chew I'm barely 3 hitting them like 90%. I do about 26-30k damage with crusher sometimse a lil over 34k but once again this is with chew spamming. So I doubt even with a 12+att (118->130) will let me 2 hit. I mean I only have a 2.1k-5.4k+ max range atm x_x

Also without zerk, I could take one hit from a skele while zerking but its risky because auto pot is so undependable.

Also if you want a good set of ski's look into bera/scania, I saw one exact same stats for like 600mil. I scrolled these myself out of boredom. It was funny because the skiis and all the scrolls came from a fail gach run in NLC. LOL

Well here's another advice for you:

If you wish, try and get the Reverse Spear (or a FF/Pinaka/Dragon Faltizan) and scroll it . Usually for a few people, they have 2 spears: any slow (7/8) Spears for training and their pair of Skis for bossing. Usually the Slow-speed spears have more attack, allowing the user to kill monsters faster during training, while reserving the Sky Skis for bossing use. If you got the funds to do that, go give that a try.

However, if you manage to scroll some godly Slow (7/8) Spear(s) (like 5 30%'s working or above) and stats are high enough to overtake the Skis DPS-wise, then that's when you can switch to using only one spear.

Nah, the stormbreaker map I'm talking about is the one inside the keep itself. It's the bottom right room once you get inside. The only annoying part is getting up there and goin past the CG's but if you have 15k hp like you were saying then that's not as much of a problem for you :tongue:

Well i got them to 120att! :heart: So only a 132 attack spear can match them in dps, which i believe is only achievable(finacially) by the reverse spear. I guess it's best to level up and forge it later when I can at least have the ability to grind at TT xD.

On another note :heart:@12att blue wg and 16 brown wg ;D

i remeber begin a bug or something like that in the shout skill where at a cretian level it was beter/almost as good as max? anyone remeber this or got info about it? thx

level 4 has a 100% stun rate but the range and damage are crap and i have certainly never used shout for stunning purposes. only for killing small mobs.

is it a good id to cap it at lv 4 and than train some levels and add it to like 20 to be more effective?

It's %-wise the weakest skill in the game. It never becomes effective, unless you're having fun at HHG1, or killing things with less than...say 5-10k hp. But, there's not much else to do with the points, so, what the hell? :f3:

ive got two questions:
is my 7/115 red surfboard better than my 10/114 eclipse?

and im a 93 DK in bellocan as i write this; ive already got max PA fury and roar, and am working on spear crusher now. would you guys say that going with blood, then ER, then sac would be a decent build choice?

The surfboard is better, but not by a lot.

I would personally leave blood for later (it's non-essential as pots can replace it) and go ER>Blood>Sacrifice or something.

You most likely will be Himing, and seeing as Surfboard gives you slightly better dmg with no speed handicap, I'd say go with it.

About skillbuild, again, seeing as you'll mostly be training at Himes, it doesn't matter what atk skills you get, or even Blood, so don't let it bother you.

(Rage takes 20 2ndjob SPs and gives as much dmg boost to a party...)

well, thanks for the advice guys; i asked more about my build because im a hybrid DK (should be obvious), but i fail to see a purpose for spear fury if i can just use a maxed sac. iuno. i will consider switching ER and blood, though.

Well, Spear Fury, Sacrifice, and ER are all useless at Himes.. and Blood is just generally useless. So it doesn't matter much what you do.

When is a good level to start Gobying on my DK?

Probably when you can reliably open the houses before they W. Att. Null, and when you can kill the mobs in less than say...5 hits or so?

could someone give me an accurate formula of how much HP a warrio gains when he levels. No adding ap just leveling.
