Where was it that Kyubey lied in the episode? I think that now that he's been found out, he wants to disclose his true purpose to Madoka in a vain attempt to see if she will listen to his reasoning and logic, even though he knows from experience that this is not usually the case with teenage girls and she probably will not be swayed. I wouldn't think that Kyubey is that desperate (considering he doesn't possess emotions). He acts to conserve the energy balance in the universe, or whatever you want to call it, from a purely reasoned and logical standpoint of not wanting the world to end but has no emotional attachment to his cause, so I think it would follow that he would not take action of out desperation. He has even less reason for concern now that he believes Madoka will have to become a magical girl to stop the witch that comes on Walpurgis Night.
I agree that Kyouko's death wasn't a big surprise and was definitely not out of place, especially now after reflecting on what you said. I'd like to think that Kyouko was serious in her first fight with Sayaka and then started to care for her, when she saw her former self reflected in Sayaka, which is why she didn't want Sayaka to make the same mistakes that she did. I'm not some huge Sayaka x Kyouko shipper, but the silhouetted outlines of the two and Kyouko's final words to Sayaka saying that she didn't want her to be lonely being by herself definitely led me to believe there was something there. The things you mentioned definitely played a large role in Kyouko's decision, but I think the romance part was a factor as well.
Spoiler
Kyubey implied he lied when he told Kyouko and saving Sayaka was possible.
Was she the "Smart girl" of the group in an alternate timeline, perhaps a Magical Girl? There is always one smart girl in a group of Magical Girls, for example, Ami in Sailor Moon, and none of the "group" in madoka really fit the bill.
I doubt it will play any importance in this season, but if the ending does turn into a "Higurashi" ending, it could be possible she shows up

You should spoiler this pomegranate, son.
Spoiler
You're lucky I've already seen the words "alternate timeline" prior to your post or I'd be having a nerd-fit right now.

Interesting.
Mo Madoka
Ill wtp my ass of if Hitmomi ends up being the Walpurgis witch. It would even be fitting that she is, but there havnt been any hints towards it (though, her out of the blue urge to go after Sayaka's crush was a lil convenient to make Sayaka go into berserk mode.

Oh yeah. Speaking of Kyubey...
Though I know that real-world science doesn't necessarily apply...

Infinite Stratos episode 9
..........What.....the.....hell Laura..? How can a bad-arse chick like you ended up being a "wife" of an idiot, not only that but now her whole character of being this "so-called bad-arse character" is now ruined thanks to "HIM".....I think this is why I don't watch harem animes that much now really. It's like the male character ALWAYS gets the girls no matter what, I mean, really????
I just don't like how the females loves the male at first slight like magic or something like that.
Example, Ichika saving Laura = instant love for him.......
EDIT:
Should I consider Laura's character to be ruined or "kind of" ruined now?
EDIT 2: Nevermind, after seeing Laura in the rest of the episode, it is clear for me to say her character is ruined of being a "bad-arse" character.

What the hell is happening in *my* Fractale? You were supposed to be the best this season -- I pegged that from the beginning. But now, due to your slow start (which is bad considering it's also the shortest), silly plot twists, and weak attempts at fanservice, I'm going to have to give that award to Madoka or Gosick. Tisk tisk, Fractale.
One of my critic friends also heartily believes that the animation quality went to pomegranate in this most recent episode, but even after comparing old and new episodes I honestly can't tell the difference. Maybe I don't have a good eye for it.

Correction, Laura is not the wife, she is the husband. Ichika is the wife.
IS - 9 - This show is becoming lawl worthy. Im calling it now, the next girl to fall in love with Ichika will be Houki's sister. I still hold that Ichika is the dumbest muther trucker ever. Oh yeah, he wants to bang his sister too. Glad to see that Charlotte and Laura are sort of teaming up in a way. Screw all the other girls too, I just want the one who was at the beach in the costume :glitter:
Yumekui Merry - 9 - Awesome episode in both revelations and character building. Hopefully they find a way to remove the demons without removing the dreams.
Index II Ep 21 - To be honest, I'm really really looking forward to the next episode. Accelerator will really have to go on the offensive if he wants to beat Kihara since Kihara is able to bypass his vector reversal ability.
Looking forward to Touma VS Fuse Kazekiri VS Vento. :f2:

The "Alternate Timeline" stuff is pure speculation and i'm not basing it off anything, though i know it's one of the most widely believed theories :P

Wouldn't be surprised at anything SHAFT throws at me now. She's .. just always there, for some reason, she really looks like she can be a Mahou Shoujo, but she isn't. Strange. Related image to what's going on in the plot so far, rather saddening:
Madoka 9 Oh gee, this show just keeps going on a downward spiral of depression, it's so good.
Fractale 7 Finally we start with some more action and development. This was starting to remind me too much of Eureka 7, where you get 93872934792 episodes of total boredom (and there is a similar arrangement of characters).

As I told a friend:
He's an alien. They know more about science than us, obviously.
No. Don't question it.

Also, have you guys seen the T-shirts COSPA's been making for Madoka? Some of them are prettyamazing.

That second shirt would be fun to wear....if it didnt cost 30 bucks.
GoSick - 9 - Two main things. I know that glass breaks when you drop it. And this is going to be a very interesting mystery.
Freezing - 9 - Wow, I really did not expect to see a fight with the Nova's, and these things mean business.

Yes, we know it's really basic and learned in early highschool, but to his defence, who's to say our laws of physics are 100% accurate? If he is from some advanced alien race, then it's highly possible they have a deeper understanding of things than we do. Humans don't know everything, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time we'd have a scientific law disproved. The fact that the show has magic in it at all already proves that it's not applying our scientific laws into it. Of course, we really don't know if he's telling the truth or not.
Reading on, BTA already beat me to it.

Not only that, but theories (possibly laws?) are not always facts. They can be disproven or altered, though this is less likely for laws. As humans, we're always altering 'rules' once we discover something new.
Oh wow. She looks a lot smaller and younger in the OP than she did when she appeared :P
Easy mistake to make... i suppose

A theory by definition is not a fact. Theorems are true until a new observation or theory disproves it. Laws cannot be altered or changed e.g., laws of motion.
