The ending of the first FMA anime was really lacking, because I felt that while everything made sense, it didn't seem like there was a strong sense of unity (unlike the 2nd one). It seemed a bit too rushed as well. I have the movie, and even then, I thought it was pretty boring. I prefer the 2nd. I'll keep it at that.Quote:

Katanagatari 6: To be honest, I didn't like it all that much. The removal of the tattoo without killing her seemed terribly convenient. Houou is disturbing. Not sure what's going on with Nanami, but I hope it has a better explanation than Houou cutting down his friend.
Arakawa Under the Bridge 10: The Mayor was funny, but I'd get pissed too. I thought they could've done the last scene better, but maybe the next episode will better it.

Evangelion 1.11 & 2.22: This storyline totally makes more sense than the storyline to the anime series. That and WHOAMG explosions.

Still watching Eva, and watching Maid-Sama and Angel Beats as new episodes come out. Gonna start my dual FMA manga and FMA:B plan later this week.
Also bought 1.11 on Blu-Ray cause it's ~$14 at Amazon. Might save watching it for that GL movie marathon in August.

I like this show. Not my usual fare, but it works. A good combo of all manner of genre.
Durrr!! 22: This episode was very nice. The series has been building up very nicely until the climactic gang war that Izaya's been trying to start. The Yellow Scarves have been further shaped into more antagonistic figures in the plot by this episode, particularly by how Horoda just took over and the events around the very end of the episode . Also, I'm glad someone slapped Kida. I was waiting for a while to see that happen. I had a lot of fun watching Shizuo's appearance in this episode. I laughed a lot when he said he was complaining about getting so many messages and how he couldn't read them because so many messages were coming in as well as:"Thank you for saving me again" "Who are you again?". Watching him smash up Horoda was pretty entertaining too. I'm still kind of curious how Kadota knew Horoda, though. Perhaps Horoda was a former Blue Square member who joined the Yellow Scarves?
It also answered one question for me. I was wondering why the heck the Yellow Scarves followed a middle school/now high school student in the first place. Judging from the latest turn of events, it seems to me that they thought that Kida would be easy to manipulate and that he would never have very solid control over what they could do- with him as a scapegoat for anything that the Yellow Scarves do.
I did mention wanting to see more of Shinra's dad and the cop earlier in this thread. Come to think of it, Shinra's dad isn't that necessary anymore, his purpose has already been fulfilled- which was to start up the Slasher storyline and to give insight on Izaya's experiment with Celty's head. Still, I suppose it wouldn't be too much to ask for acknowledgement that he exists than just totally forget about him. As for the cop, I've been wondering why he hasn't shown up. Maybe it's because the whole Slasher issue has been "resolved", and with that, I don't think he really has reason to chase down Celty. If he really still is interested in capturing Celty, I expect to see him show up around the last two episodes as an obstacle to Celty during the gang war. That would be kind of nice, at least he didn't just randomly disappear off the series after a single episode.
Also, I'm expecting a second season or an OVA.
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou ep 11
Wow, I feel like this anime is being too rushed. The story is a bit cliched.., however, I love some of the characters! I wish it was like 30+ episodes or something, I don't care when it comes to fan-service because I'm a bit neutral on that, it can either make an anime terrible (most of the time), or somehow 'fit in' with an anime's style and story. Seems like the next one will be the final episode. Hoping that stuff ends well. It seems to differ a bit from the manga too.

Except for Horada and his few goons, the Yellow Scarves are all in Kida's age group from what I can tell. Back when they were explaining the back story for the gang they went on about how it was something they could do as school kids to rebel against the world.
And on the subject of characters of questionable purpose, what's the deal with Simon? He gets a solid amount of screentime, is he really just a bit of a Shizzy foil/comedic relief/prop? You've got me feeling better about why Shinra's dad exists at least.
I'm expecting some more show as OVA or something also. Mostly just because they did some for Baccano! Your novel spoiler has me extra curious and hopeful though.
Gurren Lagann ep 19
Wow, Rossiu is a f`ucking plum. I never liked him as soon as he joined Dai-Gurren Brigade, I didn't like his personality during the beginning, and now I see that it worsened. I do know that Viral plays a major role in this anime though, he does seem to reoccur at many occasions. I also know for a damn fact that he isn't a bad guy at all, he has his motives.
