Pap is a lvl 125 clock boss with just under 25 million HP. The damage isn't anything to wow at, but it summons bombs, which do either 3.9k or 8.3k damage maximum. It can also dispel and/or stun you (dispel + stun combo vs mages = death). 2nd phase of Pap is just it flying around and trying to hug you for 5.3k damage xDQuote:

I hate searching for Pianus, and I hate killing it. Right Pianus isn't so bad, but Left pisses me the hell off. Any boss that dispels me frequently and hides behind Super Def annoys me to no end. I also really hate how people are able to freely come in and even take your drops at the end. And I play in Bera, which makes Pianus not the easiest thing to find. I'll probably only do a few more Pianus here and there til I get my Pianus Card. One of my least favorite bosses.Quote:

Area bosses are not worth screenshotting, and I never take screenshots of "group" bosses I do, such as CWKPQ, Zak and Horntail, because I don't care about bosses I killed with a bunch of other people. That's stupid. So...that's why you get a lot of Pap. I throw in some bonuses every now and then. *shrugs*

Unfortunately, both exams and finals didn't go as well as I would have hoped, but then again I tend to be perfectionistic when it comes to grades, so perhaps I did well in the end. You know, the stuff everyone always preaches entering college students about. Study! Go to class! Nag nag nag. lol

Got King Clang?
During these last 2 days of (area) boss hunting for the hell of it, I got a good collection of scrolls off those bosses, especially King Clang, Faust, Stumpy, and Dyle. Yesterday's hunting was a productive day, nabbing Shoe Jump 60% & Claw ATT 60% off King Clang, Shield DEF 60% from Faust (lol), and PA 60% from Dyle.
Today was 18/19 for King Clang (Cape LUK 60%) and 9 Faust (nada). Did a few stumpies, but nothing showed up except for 2 Sap of Ancient Trees.
Kinda feeling great about this. xD

Pianus is like the opposite of Pap for me, for the last few solos I've always gotten an SE book. Funny thing is, I always get the one that's the cheapest at the time: when SE30 was cheap due to SE20's being scarce, I get SE30. Now that SE30 is more expensive than SE20, I get SE20's. Not like I'm complaining or anything, but it's just one of those things where you're like "oh, darn, not again..."

oh. I need some help on how to not get blown up by the bombs. He kept spawning them in front of me, and then I couldn't stop hurricane fast enough. I guess I just need to learn to Identify the summoning animation?
You could make try strafe or something until the bomb spawn is maxed.
Or just become some kind of WK bowman hybrid and charge your arrows with fire so they can't accidentally blow up the bombs.

It was just one of the very rare unlucky streaks + a very persistant Pap (I WANT TO FLY UP DANGIT ;_;). My crits are around 17k on Pap, so it's well over the KB rate. 55% crit rate + nearly 8 arrows coming out per second equals a, basically, guaranteed, complete-control pin. But of course anything that deals with a % chance can fail, even in long streaks. I hit a big enough burst of non-crits that Pap's wish of TOUCHING THE CEILING TEEHEE came true. Then he messed up my screenshot. F'AGGOT.

I was already rather not happy when it super deffed 9 times in the first 10 minutes...
Then I ran outta all cures halfway through. The next half of the fight was quite... Not enjoyable.
Took maybe 45 minutes total, but most of that was spent crying at lack of all cures.
After I had run out, I ran to town hoping I'd have some in storage (to no luck)... Then on my way back, AR dced. I logged back in, get into the cave... And get AR dced on a bomb. Apparently if you get AR dced in his cave you're returned to town. So I got to run back again.
For all the trouble, it was worth it I guess, Rush 20 and SE 20.
Also, funny thing, literally seconds after I looted everything a 17x NL popped in.

Only 13 more solos till I can say I've had the longest Papulatus solo streak without any of the big ticket item drops! 187 solos and counting with no BStep 30, Brandish 30, Stance 20, Bow Expert 20, or Chaos Scroll. Best I've ever done is Hurricane 30 twice, but that doesn't say too much.
