Rubik's Cube
#1
Fitting the title...

I've never solved one without studying a guide before... but personally I think it's dumb to memorize algorithms. I know I'm wrong, but I just know I can learn this intuitively.

So... who can solve a Rubik's cube! Vote now!

When I was a kid, I saw a rubik's cube and went to myself "why are all the colors not on the same side" so I tinkered with it a bit, couldnt do it and just ended up pealing all the stickers off and sticking them till they were color coded. My parents thought I was a genius for a while till they saw me pealing the stickers xD

I never completed them in the past, due to not having ownership for more than a week (about 7 years ago).
My father had one and it took him about 5 months to complete it.

Last Christmas, I received a gift which I thought would have fulfilled this emptiness of not being able to solve it. It was a giant Rubix cube!
After immediately opening it...it wouldn't turn.
Moments later, we figured out that it wasn't SUPPOSED to turn.
I returned it to the store the next day.
...
...stupid rubix revolution cube <_<

I've tried a few times. I get one side finished and then I mess it up trying to do the other side!

I end up disassembling the rubix cube and putting it back together !

Didn't we just have a thread about this a few days ago? Anyways I self-taught first, then when I learned about algorithms, I was blown away so I switched to those after lol.

Yes, we did in fact have another rubik's cube thread. It just kinda vanished without a trace. o_O

Which reminds me, the official pictures thread for mardia vanished too. Would a mod mind explaining why these threads have been vanishing?

Still on the first page.
(This one is about asking how, not who can solve it.)

If you try to do one side at a time you always fail.
You have to plan for each side to finish together.

They are easy if you PRE-Plan forever.
They suck if you are all LIGHTBULB!

Yep ive done it. I gave up speed cubing on the 3x3 cause it hurts...
I've also done a 4x4 cube now. I find it more challenging because common sense and algorhythms.

I my records so far
3x3: 57seconds
4x4: 9m12s

Almost my whole class knew how to do it. Thats why i learned. Honors class kids have nothing better to do.

I used to have one. I was trying to solve it when the screw that was holding the whole freaking thing together shot out of the cube and almost hit me in the eye. Then the whole thing kind of fell apart. Frown

Yes, yes I do. Which I promptly threw away. I like to learn things by myself.
